Katia felt strange like she was floating around in a dark room with nothing to anchor her. Every once in a while, she would glimpse some sort of light, and then it was gone. She could not feel her arms, legs, or her heart beating. She just floated around in the dark. She wondered what had happened and where she was. Where was everyone else? It was neither hot nor cold, just nothing. Katia heard a voice calling out to her.
"Titi, are you here? I cannot see anything. What happened? Where is everyone? Why is it so dark?" It was her sister Selene. She sounded different, something was very wrong. Selene was here too. Did the grandfather send them here so no one could ever find them again? She could not feel Aza, her wolf. Where was she? Did they get separated somehow? Where was Lu? He swore to take care of her and Selene. He swore to keep them safe. Did Uranus kill him?
Katia called back to Selene, "Lili, I am here, but I do not know where here is. Do you still have Loza? Maybe she knows what is going on. I do not have Aza, and I cannot feel her." Katia continued floating, trying to find the direction her sister's voice had come from. It was easy to move around, but doing so quickly caused her to become disoriented and dizzy. That light kept flashing, but before she could get close, it was gone again. What was that? Suddenly, she felt something that was Lucifer, but then it was gone as quickly as it was there. What is going on? Katia was starting to get scared.
She heard Selene again, "I am here sister. Yes, I have Loza, but she is as confused as we are. She cannot remember anything but everyone together watching Zeus and his son fight. Do you remember anything at all after that?"
"Zeus was fighting his son? Which one and why?" Katia asked. She could not picture the son in her mind. She knew Zeus and what he looked like, but she could remember him fighting one of his sons. Obviously, Grandfather had done something to them. He had finally gotten his revenge somehow. The problem was figuring out how and what to do to try and fix things.
"Loza, says she does not know this son. He is part human, part wolf, and part god. She says they fought because Uranus was making them do so for some reason." Selene was relaying what information her wolf was giving her. The problem was it did not answer many questions. It only created more. Selene wondered what the half human son of Zeus had done to bring down the wrath of Uranus. Who were the others with their uncles, aunts, mother, and father? She felt that she should know them but did not. She could picture the whole group but so many of them she did not know. "Katia, can you remember the group of people we were with? Do you remember who all of them were?"
Katia tried picturing the ones she was last with. She recognized the gods, goddesses, and titans, but there were others that she did not recall knowing. They were not gods; one or two seemed to be magical, she remembered. "I remember magical beings in the group but not what type. I don't know Selene. I cannot remember and it hurts to try. I just want to stay here and float, to rest. and maybe then I will remember."
The light flashed again and another voice was heard near the light, "Girly, come look. I don't know where I am but there is a movie playing where I am." It was Aza, Katia's wolf calling to her. What was she talking about a movie playing, Katia wondered. "Selene, did you hear that? Wolfie says she is watching a movie. Maybe that is what the flashing light is."
"Katia, if we keep Aza talking, we can follow her voice to where she is. Loza says she can feel her, that she is in her own form, not part of you. Keep her talking." Selene was telling Katia as she tried to move toward her sister. She could feel her sister now and knew she was not far. It seemed the longer they were conscious, or whatever this was, the more she could connect to her twin. Out of nowhere, they were together. Like they had bumped into one another but neither had felt a thing. The two were now floating to where Aza's voice was coming from. They finally reached her and just like them she was there suddenly but they could not see her. They could not see each other either; just felt that they were together and floating through the dark space. Now there was a movie playing in front of them. They watched the movie for a time trying to understand what they were seeing. They saw a very small Lucifer running along a beach with his parents. Then he and his sibling play and learn to be angels. They saw Lucifer standing and staring at two small babies. One had white hair, and the other had dark black hair; both had purple eyes. He stood next to them and did not want to leave them when his parents said it was time to go home. He was in awe of the two small little girl babies and was confused as to why he was told he had to keep them a secret. He did though, but the mean grandfather found out. They watched as Zeus and Hera fell in love with the babies and bestowed precious gifts upon them. They saw the anger Lucifer had when the grandfather found out about the gifts and held them responsible for their father's deeds. Next was the day that Lucifer tried to take over Mr. Olympus and Zeus banished him from there. They watched as he fell from grace and his wings burned off. She could feel his pain, his emotions, and the regret she felt when it was over.
Katia gasped, "What is this? Why are we seeing a movie of Lucifer's life?"
Selene quietly intoned, "I don't think this is a movie. I think we are seeing his memories. Titi, we are stuck in his head somehow."
"Why would we be stuck in Lucifer's head? That is crazy." Katia responded in a whisper.
It was Aza who spoke up, "Because we died. Lucifer is trying to hold onto our souls. Girly, we died. That is why we cannot see each other. We are just souls attached to Lucifer's until we decide to depart from this life or return to it."
Selene agreed, "She's right. It is the only explanation. It is why we do not remember everything. Uranus must have been torturing us and it drained us of everything. We were probably lucky there was enough of left to know his soul and grab on."
"So what do we do now? I feel like I am forgetting something important. How do we decide what to do if we cannot remember important facts to make that decision?" Katia wanted to know.
"I do not know," Selene said. "Maybe we should watch some more of Lu's memories and we will remember something."
The three continued watching Lucifer's memories. His memories ran all the way through each and every time they tried to live in the earthly realm and outsmart the grandfather. Most times they were killed as infants or in their early childhood. The times they made it to adulthood they were tortured, raped, and other horrendous things. Selene had an earthly life when she reached her seventeenth birthday, and her fated mate went berzerk, and his wolf ripped her apart. When the wolf shifted back to his human form the man killed himself. Each life each girl tries to live in the earthly realm comes to a horrendous end every time. Sometimes, they were so bad that the girls would stop trying for centuries and start again when they thought they could handle it mentally again. Each and every time Lucifer was there, he was the one who would give the human forms a burial and then wait for them to return again so he could watch over them. Once Zeus relented and allowed him to visit the god's realm to see his parents, he spent as much time with them there as he could. He would help them plan out their next attempt. The twin moon goddesses were the only others from the god realm allowed to visit the underworld without invitation. They spent many nights with Lucifer there while he showed them how to get better at surviving in the earthly realm. As they watched Lucifer's memories of parts of their lives, some of them started coming back to them.
"He has always been there for us," Katia whispered. "He has been a better brother than our own older ones have been to us. They have always been jealous of us and want nothing to do with us. Lucifer has just loved us no matter what form or life we were in. Do you think he wished to be mated to one of us?"
Selene returned to what her own thoughts were telling her: "No, I think he would do so to keep us safe, but I think he wants his own mate someday. I think this we are seeing between us three is something done by one of our higher relatives. It is like we are connected and cannot live without each other. It would explain why, no matter how weak we were and ready to leave this life for good, he was able to keep our souls here." Selene watched some more hoping they would get to the point that would explain what had happened in the most recent life. Maybe they could figure out from there what they were supposed to do next. She felt Loz nudge her and say, "We are not done with this life yet. I feel it. It is going to be hard to convince Titi and Aza. I feel like they have suffered beyond what they can handle." Selene considered her wolf's point.
"Katia, whatever happens, I won't go anywhere without you. Loza says the same; she will not go anywhere without Aza." Selene meant what she had just told her sister. They go together wherever that is. There will be no more one goes and then the other. They do it all together or not at all.
