The demon standing just inside the cave was holding the little boy who had healed part of Lorna's wings. Everyone looked in shock to see something so evil holding a small child as gently as he could. The demon stood holding the child, looking nervous he tried to explain but he spoke in another language. His voice was extremely deep and gravelly. The witches, Rose and Gammy walked toward the creature, gammy a signal for everyone to remain quiet as she muttered what sounded like a spell, "From darkness to light, give our demon protector the ability to speak so we may understand, but to do so without giving all that surround a fright." She patted his ears and gave him a touch of a kiss on his lips."
Stepping away, Rose took her place asking, "Sir demon, would like to hand my nephew to me? It is okay no one will hurt you here."
The demon stood a few minutes more holding the child and swaying back and forth with his feet. He spoke finally, 'I will tell what happened first and then you have the boy back." Rose nodded her head in agreement while noticing this demon had grown attached to Leo in a short time. She wondered why and what was Leo doing outside beyond the waterfall. "Anytime you are ready Sir Demon."
He attempted to smile while he asked Rose, "Sir Demon, is that my name? I like it. I cannot remember my name from before. The pits can do that to you. Especially, if you are there to serve for all eternity. I do not remember why I was sent there. Hades is not all bad but he is strict about serving your penance. He has explained to me that he never doles out the penance. That we create our own."
Rose interrupted, "Sir Demon, I am happy you like the name I have given you. However, we are off the topic in your arms."
Sir Demon bowed his head apologizing the whole time. "I am sorry pretty witch, I do not get to speak much, and when I do I ramble" He lifted his head but kept his eyes looking down.
Rose felt for this demon and wanted him to feel comfortable while there with them. "Sir Demon, please look at all of us in the eye. You are not showing any disrespect by doing so. The demon raised his eyes looking her in the eye first. "Now let's get on with how you ended up with my nephew and knew to bring him here."
The demon was still swaying side to side while holding the little boy. He did this the entire time he told how he had been hit by one of the fire brimstones that had been thrown into the air to land on one of the buildings. It missed and landed on him. He explained that although he comes from the pit and is surrounded by things like that all the time, if one lands on you it uses the natural oil of his skin as fuel. He looked embarrassed when he told everyone that demons have very oily skin that constantly drips from them. Just as he said that everyone saw the black oozing puddle around him and the little boy. Once he accepted that they were not going to make fun of him or something he continued telling how he and the boy ended up together and the younger passed out he continued, "I was burning and could not put the fire out. if I rolled around on the ground then I would set fire to everything and burn the forest down. This little boy came running toward me. He used magic to squash the little fires the oil dropping from was starting. He was trying to tell me something as he pointed behind me. I was too wrapped up in the pain from to understand what he was saying. I guess he got frustrated with me and ran right for me throwing himself at me. When he did that, we both fell backward into the pool at the bottom of the falls. He saved me, an ugly demon, here to destroy his people and his home, but he still helped. He also used his magic and little hands to heal my skin and internal organs that had been damaged. He is so small and used so much magic to heal me, he passed out right after we climbed back onto the ground. I checked to make sure he was just passed out. He was breathing and not one burn mark was on him from coming in contact with me. While I sat waiting for him to wake up, I realized he was the little boy with magic, we were told to find and kill. I could not kill him. He had saved me, and I now serve him. If you turn me away, I will live in the woods so I may keep watch and ensure no harm comes to him."
Chip asked while keeping his distance, "How did you know to bring him here?"
"The little one woke for a moment; I asked him where his family was, and he pointed to the waterfall. I wanted to get him out of there in case another of my kind came along and realized who he was. I climbed to the nearest shelf on the side of the mountain and laid him there until I could inspect the waterfall. I found the cave immediately and went for the little one. Here we are." He said as handed Leo over to Rose who kissed his head and gave him to Gammy.
Bob stepped forward and offered for the demon to stay with the Moon Touched pack until the Alpha returned. Demon was surprised at the offer but also at what Bob was, "They allow you to live amongst them?" Bob smiled slightly to not show his fangs. He did not want to startle the young creature. He knew he was still scared of them and now of his kind. Bob motioned for Demon to come further into the cave. Demon did so and sat on the floor waiting for Bob to answer him. Once he was settled and one of the pack members gave him a bowl of rabbit stew, Bob continued," Yes, I am part of the Moon Touched pack now. The Alpha Luna is building a pack that welcomes all. There is a probationary period where you must show that you want to be pack with us. Now Demon do you know why your master wants our Leo dead?"
"Oh, it is not my master who wants the little boy, the witches, and the twin moon goddesses, dead. Hades could care less who lives here and what they do. He just allowed us out to help the fallen angels or to have some fun. Of course, it was all under the pretense of helping them. I do not know who is the one that wants the deaths of those I mentioned, but I do know it has to do with a prophecy."
"All of this is because Uranus is trying to stop the prophecy of Cronos taking his place?" Bob inquired calmly. The demon was still nervous and looked as if he would run at any moment.
Demon started shaking his head no, "Not that prophecy, the other one."
Doc jumped into the conversation all but yelling, "What other prophecy? Why do we not know about it?" Bob put a hand on Doc's shoulder to calm him so Demon would not run off.
Demon gulped as he watched the men, "The other is as old as time. I do not know what it says. I do know that the young boy, the witches, and the twin moon goddesses, are part of it." I am just a lower demon, so I am not noticed when I am around and meeting or something is going on. Hades just listens to the other scream and yell, and then he agrees to whatever is asked. Although my master does not do half of what they want. He likes to make mischief here in this realm along with Lucifer, he knows it drives Zeus nuts."
"Do you know where we could find more information on this prophecy?" Bob asked.
"It is in a very old tome and hidden somewhere in this realm." Demon explained.
Chip wants to know, "Are they looking for the book while here fighting the war."
Demon shook his head no, "Not that I know of. You all did not know the war had stopped. We do not know why. Just something has happened in the other realm and all fighting ended at that time. Your lands and buildings suffered very little damage. But I have heard talk amongst the angels that the Starlight pack lands were destroyed along with most of the buildings."
Lorna, are you getting any communications from Lorn or Ceael?" Chip asked her.
"I have not heard anything since he informed me, they were safe in the caves. I keep trying to speak to him, but I get nothing." Lorna told them.
Gammy assured them that all was fine, "Angel, your family and pack are safe. They have a special mission to do and then they will all be here. Worry none, you will hear from your soul mate soon."
Looking at Gammy, they all huffed but Coral asked, "What special mission? It just seems that there are so many twists and turns that this will never end."
"This war will end and when it does, the Starlight pack will travel here with what we seek. Be patient. I know it is hard for you wolves as it is not in your nature. But this is something that has to be done for the future of werewolves all around the world.
