Moon Touched

99 Never Going To Change pov

Ch. 99 / 142 May 02, 2026

Hyperion knew he had to stop them before his mother lost her temper completely. The last time she lost her temper with their father the earth realm went through a frozen era and his father was left frozen on one of the higher mountains. It took almost a century for him to thaw out. Luckily when he did finally thaw and return to the god realm both of them had calmed and forgiven one another. His younger siblings came about from that reunion. It didn't take long before Father was back to his old ways and Mother was furious again.

Hyperion took a deep breath and let out a high-pitched whistle to get his parent's attention, "This arguing is solving nothing between the two of you and my daughters are dying slowly."

Gaia looked to her son and then at her granddaughters, "He is right Uranus, you are never going to change or try to understand."

"There is nothing to understand, I refuse to fade into nothing and let new deities take my place. It is that simple, Gaia. I have that right and the power to ensure that we remain the only titans and gods." Uranus informed her.

Hyperion shook his head at his father's stubbornness and knew this was not going to end well. He watched the tears falling down his love's cheeks as she realized her daughters were not going to live through this. "Mother, please, I have always done whatever you have asked and never asked anything in return. Please, save my girls" Hyperion listened to Theia plead with Gaia.

Sighing Gaia raised her right arm into the air while the left caressed Nathan's cheek, "I am sorry son of Zeus." Her right arm was making circular motions above her head as the left reached to Theia's face, " I am sorry my daughter. I am doing my best to save my granddaughters but I feel the old fool has something up his sleeve and I can't fathom what."

Nathan let out a howl that made the pain he felt tangible to everyone around him. Zeus was finally strong enough to wrap his arms around his son and lend him strength. Gaia gave her attention once more to Uranus, "Don't you see my shining star? That is what you were before I made you a manly god. You were nothing but a shining star I had created. Most of us will fade into the stars and someday when the humans of the earth's realm evolve again, we will be released from the stars to return. Not all because the wolves and some of the other species believe in us and live by our laws still. Someday the humans will lose their fear of Christianity and believe once more welcoming us back into their world. It begins even now, some of the human species have stayed true to us and are starting to do so in the open. We will not be forgotten for long."

"I will not be forgotten at all. I will take the place of my granddaughters and if there is anything left of that realm and the wolves species, I will see to it that they know who allows them to live or die." Uranus swore.

Gaia gave a small shudder and a single tear rolled down the left side of her face, "You leave me no choice, my husband, my fool." She brought her arm down still making the circular motions and threw it toward Uranus.

His eyes widened and he smiled back at her, "You may have won but so have I." He snapped his fingers just before his body turned to dust and blew away with the single little tornado Gaia had been creating and then lobbed at him. Lucifer buckled over with a moan, Nathan's wolf pushed to the surface howling, and Theia screamed as everyone moaned, cried, and screamed. Amongst the chaos, Zeus saw the twins and Aza's bodies contort in the strangest of ways and then fall to the ground. Chaos had erupted and Zeus knew the girls were dead. That was what Uranus had meant when he said he had won also. He took their life force and used it against them. He had killed them by throwing it back at them all at once. The others were in shock and making their way to them. It was like they were moving in slow motion as Zeus watched everything unfold.

Gaia had dropped to her knees with her face in her hands crying. The life in her belly was moving and Zeus wondered if whatever or whoever was reacting to her pain. Lucifer had dragged each twin onto his lap, along with a small wolf known as Aza, and sat rocking back and forth. He murmured something over and over to the girls but Zeus could not make out what. The huge blonde wolf stood guard next to them. He whined and licked Katia's face from time to time while answering Nathan's howls.

Zeus knew this was his fault. If he had not been so grateful to Hyperion and Theia for thier help in setting him and Hera free from their prison and in fighting the last war with Uranus. If he and Hera had not been so enamored of the twins and wanted to give the girls something more than just being gods. The babies knew what they wanted the moment he asked them what he could give to them. Yes, they were infants but even at that age they were special, and the reason it was kept a secret for so long was that the moon goddess was actually twins. The only thing Zeus had bestowed that they did not ask for was that they could not harm with their powers. He thought that by doing so it would make them safe and no one would want to harm them for their powers of good. Zeus did not think Uranus was even a problem. He was locked away and no one knew he had angels working for him.

Hearing Theia screaming No and yelling at her mother to do something brought Zeus' attention to the chaos around him. Hera was holding Theia and Rhea had an arm around Evelynn as she hurried to the twins. As Nathan got to Katia and dropped to his knees, the blonde wolf growled but let him remain. Evelynn had dropped next to him and had a hand on each twin. She seems to go into a trance. Cronos had taken position behind her in a protective stance. Rhea now stood next to him lending her protection to the woman. The rest had created a circle around the women and wolf lying unmoving on Lucifer's lap. Evelynn gasped and withdrew her hands. She laid her right hand on Aza and had the same reaction. Mark and Kelp left out their howl now as they realized what was wrong.

Dalia whispered, "It does not look like they are breathing. Quick someone start CPR." No one moved. She started panicking and was shouting now, "Why won't someone do something? Do something. Nathan....please do something." Kelp grabbed her and wrapped her in his arms against her chest. Dalia fought against him, breaking free. She dropped to her knees next to Selene and started chest compressions on her while everyone stood shocked.

Nathan reached his sister and leaned down. Grabbing her hands he pulled her into his arms and whispered to her. His sister's wolf finally understood and howled. Dalia fought and she shrieked, " NO! Nathan get her soul hold it to you. As long as you have we can bring her back. Lucifer, you get Selene's, or I will."

Nathan shook his head, he could barely speak, "I tried as soon as I saw them contort and look so unnatural I reached for both of their souls. They were gone. I could not find them. They are gone, Dal." Nathan was crying with his sister when he finished trying to make her understand. He was being strong for her but Zeus could feel how devastated his son was. Nathan wanted to follow his mate. He wanted to be wherever she was going if only to let her know how sorry he was and how much he loved her.

Evelynn cried, "No, this isn't right. They cannot die. What happens to the wolves? How will they find their mates? How will the wolf be paired with the human? This is not the way this was supposed to end."

Talon spoke for the first time in a long while, she shook her head in agreement, "No matter how many times we looked for the conclusion of all this, not once did both of them die. It always changed as to which one would lose their life but it was never both." Mark had his arm around her waist and was shaking with the loss he was feeling this time. It was nothing like the last time they were told Katia was dead. He felt empty. He could feel nothing from her. There was no communication link. Just nothing where she belonged in his mind. He could always feel her blood running through his veins and now that had stopped too. Kelp just stood there with a lost look and said, "She is gone. I can't feel her blood zipping through my body anymore. I can't feel her goodness. It's just..."

"Emptiness." they all said at the same time.

Theia stomped her foot and screamed, "MOTHER! You do this for me. It is because of you that all of this has happened. You give me my girls back. They did not deserve any of this. Let me trade my life for theirs."

Hyperion swore loudly, "Theia, do not give her any ideas. You know how she can be."

Gaia looked at her son, "Hyperion, you wound me. I lost myself in anger for a while but I am better. I do not want your life for theirs Theia my daughter. I have to see what he had done to them. I will do my best to give them back to you. Sometimes I cannot undo what another god has done. Uranus knows me well." She stood stroking her belly and closed her eyes.

Gaia had left her body to enter her granddaughters' bodies and see what she could do to help them. The fool of a husband had not drained them completely of their life force. Maybe just maybe she could do something to save them.
