Evelynn gave a muffled cry and stood holding her hand over her mouth. Tears were shimmering in her eyes as Cronos put his arms around her waist pulling her back against his chest. He whispered in her, "What is it my heart?" She leaned her head back gazing up into his eyes, hers still shimmering with tears, "Leo, something evil has him."
"Stay calm, Evelynn, we cannot let Uranus know anything of Leo's whereabouts. Your mother will make sure he stays safe." Cronos tried reassuring her. He could feel the fear coursing through her with the knowledge of their son being in danger. She gave in to the urge to reach out to Leo and make sure he was not scared. She relaxed and smiled while she linked Cronos letting him feel the anger coming from their son. Cronos smiled back and whispered, "See, he is not even scared of whatever has him. That means he can take care of the threat himself when he is ready."
Cronos thought the woman had to have more faith in Leo. He was powerful and would become the most powerful warlock in his own right when he was grown. Not to mention, he was also another demigod. That aura that surrounded the boy called to others like Katia's and Selene's did. He just did not understand why. What was special about these children? Turning his attention back to the battle of words between his mother and father. He caught the last part of the conversation his mother and wife were having with each other. His mother admitted she did not know what to do the stop Uranus from killing the twins. She had admitted she may not be powerful enough to save them.
Sighing Cronos knew that this was not going to end well no matter what happened. Nathan was straining to get out Crius and Hyperion's hold. Hyperion had taken up the side Cronos abandoned to go to Evelynn when she cried out. Nathan had closed his eyes and stopped struggling suddenly. He dropped to his knees and quietly pleaded, "Hold on mate, do not give up. Hold to your Lucifer, the blonde wolf, whoever you have to keep alive. Just don't let go." Opening his eyes he noticed that Aza was now sitting next to Katia and leaning her head against her hip. Nathan screamed at his wolf in his head, "Kalen, do something. Talk to Aza keep them here."
"I can't, Nathan, she is too weak. He kept them in separate forms for a reason. He knew it would weaken them further because they could not heal wounds that were starting to seep with their life force. As soon as some of their life force oozes from the injuries he is inflicting on their inside he absorbs it and is becoming stronger." Kalen whined at him. The wolf was just as terrified as the man. He could feel their mates slipping slowly away.
Zeus whispered, "Hold her soul here if her body gives out. Nathan, just picture wrapping her soul around you and keeping it there. As long as we have her soul we can bring her back, remember?"
"What about Aza?" Nathan wanted to know.
"Your wolf must do the same. Tell him to talk to Aza and tell her the plan so she will be more open to letting him hold on to her." Zeus explained to him. As Nathan conversed with Kalen, the rest continued to listen to Uranus and Gaia battle with words. The words were a good thing. If they started using their powers against one another they could destroy the two realms accidently. That may be Uranus' plan to egg Gaia into fighting with their powers. He saw Gaia throw him a look and felt her snicker in his head, "Come now, Zeus, you know I am smarter than that."
He smiled as he quipped, "I was worried, you had lost your smarts locked away all those years."
"I was locked away because I allowed it. I needed time. Now I do not allow it and here I am." She smirked.
Uranus was watching the play of emotions on all of their faces and knew they were conversing with each other through their damn links but Gaia was blocking him from hearing their conversations. The woman just would not learn her place. So what, she created all of them including him. That did not mean anything. Just that she was great at being pregnant and giving birth. Then she let her children run wild doing whatever they wanted. Look at the mess they had now. His son who was to take his place had a human witch mate and offspring with her. Zeus turned his twin granddaughters into weaklings who cared for nothing but the wolves they created. All of them titans, gods, fallen angels, demigods, all mixing their blood and diluting it to nothing. Zeus was going to allow the godliness and their powers to be bred out of them with interspecies breeding. That is what introducing new blood would do to them.
Gaia spoke gently to him suddenly, "Maybe that would not be so bad, husband."
"What? That we become nothing and fade into history as if we never existed?" Uranus bellowed. "I am not going without a fight. We are needed to keep order amongst our kind. We do not need to cater to lesser beings who barely realize we exist."
"Would in be so bad to not have to worry so much about fixing everyone's problems or who may take your place?" Gaia reasoned with him. "You could stop hurting your family and just let them worry about the realms."
"Says the mother of all. You will always be in need, along with those two brats they are referred to as the moon goddess." You all give life one way or another and will always be needed for what you can give. It is my right to rule over you all and make sure you are not breaking the god's laws." Uranus continued yelling.
"Uranus, you do not rule though. You imprison, you kill, and you destroy anything that is a threat to you. That is not a god. That is not what we are meant to do. Yes, we destroy when necessary but not everything that does not fit into what we may think is right." She tried coaxing him into understanding her side.
"Once again says the one that destroyed dinosaurs because they were not intelligent enough. They did not evolve the way you expected and you wiped them out." He spat at her.
"It was my right. I made room for the ones that inhabit the real now. Look at them how hard they work to evolve to where they are now." She stated proudly. "Even Katia and Selene's wolves have evolved nicely into a species that braces the old ways more than the human's modern ways."
"Yes, aren't they just lovely? They are imbeciles who are led easily into war and they destroy one another. What do they destroy one another for? Money, power, hatred, and whatever other reason they can think of." He shot back at her.
"Isn't that what we do? Tell me Uranus what makes us any different? They are evolving just as we have." Gaia threw back at him.
"We are gods! Did you forget that, Gaia, my loving mother, and wife?" He snarled at her. Uranus was done with this arguing back and forth. He closed his eyes and raised his hands in the air. An arc of lightning shot between his hands and he let it gather strength. The electric charging between his hands was crackling and sparking. He turned to Zeus and threw it towards the younger god screaming, "Have a taste of your own medicine, you traitor."
Cronos shoved Zeus aside and let the charged electrical current hit him. He fell to the ground as Evelynn screamed. He heard another scream and Rhea appeared next to him. Dropping to her knees beside Evelynn she shoved the other woman back saying, "No, don't touch him. You could be electrocuted from the current traveling inside of him."
Evelynn pulled her hands away as she fell backward. "Please, what do we do to help him?"
"Nothing, his body will absorb it and he will be fine. I just need to make sure it did not hit anyone around him and that it was only electricity, not anything else. If water was mixed with it then we would have a problem" Rhea explained.
Gaia looked at her son and studied his still form. Reaching out to him mentally she scanned his inside and saw that the current was lessening already. Turning back to Zeus she roared, "You hurt another of my children again!" and threw her arms out toward him. Uranus flew backwards landing on the chairs behind him. He lay there stunned for a moment, standing he came back at Gaia, "This is how you want it? Fine, the outcome will still be the same. You can't beat me, woman." He threw his arms forward and blew air from between his lips. Gaia flew up and was spinning as the momentum from the push had her landing in the lake behind them all.
Hyperion stared as she rose and gathered energy from the water, "Great, just what we need. How many times have I said, don't piss mother off? You will not like her when she is pissed."
