Evelynn screamed, "Leo! Where is Leo?" Everyone looked to where Evelyn stood, staring between the bars at Cronos.
Cronos could do nothing from his prison but look into the one his son and mate were held in. His son was gone and his mate was crying uncontrollably. "He was here in my arms. Sitting on my lap and then, then he was gone."
Rhea calmly reached through the bars and laid her hand on the part of Evelynn's arm she could reach, "Shh, Your son is fine. I sent him to his gammy. They are protected by the angels who answer to me. No one will hurt them."
Cronos informed his wife, "Father said the had gammy resting in her bed and he would awake her when she was needed."
The excitement on Rhea's face worried Cronos a bit and when she rubbed her hands together saying, "He still believes that. He is not the only one who can create illusions and control energy." He had a chill run down his spine. Cronos hoped that Rhea was telling the truth and was on their side. He didn't know if he could continue to keep his promise to her if she harmed Leo.
Rose was holding her sister and rocking her now. Amara soothed her by telling her she could feel no evil in the goddess Rhea. She was truly here to help us. Amara did state as she looked at Rhea, "She is not telling us everything, but, I guess you have to keep a few tricks up your sleeve when dealing with someone like Uranus."
Rhea smiled and nodded, "Okay my nieces, it is time to call Uranus to us. I will be out of sight for now." Looking at Katia's wolf she said, "Aza, behave yourself!"
Aza stood, shook her thick coat out, sniffed the air, and laid back down next to the door of Katia's prison. She closed her eyes and snored loudly, causing a giggle to erupt among her audience. Selene whispered to her twin, "Titi, you must tell me what that is all about between Aunt and your wolf."
Katia shrugged as if to say "Hell if I know."
"Alright, girls work your magic," Rhea said and shimmered out of sight.
Katia closed her eyes while Selene and Lucifer stood next to her. Her deep purple eyes opened and she blankly stared. It was obvious she was communicating with the grandfather. Nathan watched closely, the body language between the three now standing in the same prison together. As he watched Selene speak quietly to her sister lending her support and strength, he noticed Lucifer was doing the same. When did the three of them become so trusting of one another? Was this something he had missed from the beginning? Was this trust the reason his mate chose the fallen angel to help her with her revenge against him?
Katia had been conversing for about three minutes, but it must be very draining for her, her knees began to buckle and Lucifer hulled her against him holding her up. He growled quietly, "It is too much for her. Her powers are not a full strength yet and he is draining her."
Cronos whispered in agreement, "He is right. The old man is draining her power to make himself stronger."
Hyperion bellowed, "Break it off now, daughter!" Katia continued communicating as if she did not hear any of them. "Lucifer, do something to gain her attention before it is too late," Hyperion commanded.
Lucifer sighed and looked at Nathan as if to say, "Should be her mate doing this for her." Lucifer leaned down saying softly, "Come back to us sweet goddess." and kissed her. At first, Katia did not respond, but then she started kissing him back. When she leaned into his chest, Lucifer broke the kiss off. He did not like the other males watching them. He knew Katia was not his but he wanted to protect her until she decided what she wanted. That meant from her mate also. Lucifer worried that helping her get revenge on Nathan the way he did may not have been the best idea. He was worried that Nathan would take it out on her somehow.
Nathan wore a grimace when he glanced back at him. Then the Alpha says, "She needs you right now Lucifer. I cannot help her. Do what you must to keep her safe and we will call it even."
Lucifer was thrown off his game at that. Did this Alpha care so much for his mate that he was willing to let another man do what he had to protect her? Katia was still trying to clear the cobwebs from her brain. Aza heard the whole exchange and raised her head along with her ears to stare at Alpha Nathan.
Cocking her head, Aza snarled, "What are you two up to, Kalen?"
"Ah, she speaks." was all she received back.
"Cut the holier than thou crap. Don't you dare do something to throw a kink into our plans!" Aza snipped.
Nathan's wolf withdrew and left Aza showing her canines at him while growling.
This snapped Katia completely out of the trance she had been in with her grandfather and she reached through the bars petting her wolf. "It's okay Wolfie, no one can stop what is in motion now."
Katia glanced around the room and focused on a corner in the back. "He is coming and I hope all is ready. We will never get this chance again."
The disembodied voice of Rhea sounded from the corner, "Everything is ready."
Uranus' voice boomed into the room as his body came into view. "What is this granddaughter? You do not like the way the conversation is going so you break contact? No one shows disrespect to me like that. You forget I hold your life in my hands."
Katia casts her eyes down and shows her neck in the werewolf way of showing respect. Uranus waved his hand removing the barrier of the prison holding Katia, Selene, and Lucifer, wrapping his hand around Katia's neck he exclaimed, "Stand up straight like the goddess you are. You are not one of those things you and your sister created." Spittle flew from his mouth as he continued, "You do not belong with those weaklings. You belong with your kind. Our blood is too pure to mix with weak creatures such as them."
Aza let out a growl at his manhandling of her human. Uranus kicked her in the side and she flew across the room. "I allowed you to live as separate entities because I wanted your wolf away from you. If you are lucky enough to convince me to keep you alive, your wolf will not survive. She makes you weak."
Nathan's wolf pushed forward growling now. "You will not harm mate."
Laughing Uranus mentally slapped Nathan on the nose causing a yelp to come from his wolf, "Bad Alpha! Look at how you treated your mate. What gives you the right to order me around little man? You think because of who your father is you have some kind of power over me?"
Zeus commented quietly, "Nathan get your wolf under control and stand down. You will do Katia no good by challenging him."
"Ah, Zeus, the god of all gods. The one that cannot stay away from the humans and dilutes our blood. You were supposed to be my friend and yet you betrayed me with my children." Uranus was furious now. "All of you have sided against me in one way or another. Well, Zeus the biggest mistake you made was causing Lucifer's fall from grace."
"No, Uranus, that was not Zeus' fault. I became jealous and challenged his rule of Mt. Olympus." Lucifer defended Zeus. Zeus watched as Lucifer moved forward trying to get in place to pull Katia from his grip. Her face was turning purple from him squeezing her throat. Aza had crawled back over to lay next to her human's feet.
"Lucifer, you had a right to be jealous. What about the earth realm creatures is so special that they deserve more from us than our own?" Uranus questioned.
Lucifer shrugged his shoulders saying, "They keep going no matter what is handed to them. They get knocked down but get back up to try again. They are not all perfect and most of them realize it. Yet they keep trying to do better."
"Do better? What of those who murder, rape, and harm, innocent ones in their world. They would sooner kill us and study us than live with us and learn from us." Uranus spit at him.
Selene soft spoke to her grandfather, "Are we any different?"
Uranus dropped Katia and grabbed a hold of her sister, "You dare question me, you little bitch?" Selene froze barely breathing. "Look at what your sister has been through and done for you. When it was your turn to try and outsmart me you chose death as quick as possible."
Crying Selene scratched out, "Yes, I was scared of the pain and torture. I would die as fast as I could." Looking at Titi and her parents. she said, "I am sorry. Katia, you were always stronger than me. This time has been the hardest for you and I do not think you are going to be normal ever again. I sent you here too many times." She was crying hard and could not catch her breath with her grandfather's hand around her throat.
Katia rose to her feet and sneered at her sister, "Well, now we have the truth. It wasn't because this is the closest we have ever been to ending this, It was to avoid you having to do this again. Look at stupid me, I believed you and offered myself up to the grandfather for your life."
Nathan could not help the "No" that slipped from his lips. Katia turned to him, "No? No what, Nathan?"
"Don't listen to your grandfather's poison." He said quietly.
"It's better than the poison you fed me. You would never hurt me, right Nathan? You want to show how I should be taken care of and loved." She scoffed at him.
She looked back to Uranus and said, "Grandfather, I understand now. I want to help you. I want to rule with you. Tell me what is it you need of me?"
Uranus stroked his beard for a few moments before answering, "Kill them, all of them."
