Katia sat on the floor in front of the cage doors. Selene and Lucifer sitting beside her. The rest are inside of their new accommodations for the time being. Lucifer was the first to break the silence, “What next my pretty little goddesses?”
The two girls smiled and leaned against him. Katia looked Nathan in the eyes and said, “Now that all of the players are here, we wait for Grandfather to arrive.”
“You’ve joined with Uranus?” Nathan accused. “You would betray your friends and pack?”
Jumping up Katia moved in front of the cage Nathan, Kane, Talon, and Cronos were in, “I betray no one, you imbecile. You are in there to keep you safe.”
Nathan took a step back at the anger pouring from his mate. She just called him an imbecile and looked as if she wanted to harm him. Nathan figured she was still angry with him. Lucifer stood and moved behind her, gathering Katia into his arms he placed a kiss on the top of her head while calming her, “Do not let the Alpha boy provoke you, stay with the plan.”
Katia turned into Lucifer’s chest, wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him. Nathan growled, causing her to whip back to him, “You do not own me. One thing that has happened here, is that I have learned and grown a lot. You will never have the chance to hurt me again.”
Every word Katia spoke to Nathan dripped with venom. Nathan’s wolf, Kalen, told him to tread carefully. “According to wolf mate, we are in danger of losing both to Lucifer. He does not hide who he is and makes true promises.” Breathing deeply Nathan turned and sat on a bench.
Selene was now standing next to the couple, “We will improve your living arrangements in the next few hours. Until then food will be brought, and you can rest.”
Mark spoke quietly to Katia, “Little ghost, could you let Chipper know we are going to be a while and to enlist Bob’s help with caring for the packs?”
With a huge grin, Katia replied, “Already done my Xey. I knew you and Fishy would not think the worst of me.”
Kelp moved forward with his arm around Dalia’s waist, “Never in a million years my Alpha Luna” and he winked at her.
Dalia giggled, “I want to help and have some fun.”
“I promise, my sweet Dalia you will,” Katia assured her.
Cronos noticed others were missing from the cages. “Where is my mate and son, niece?”
“Do not worry uncle. They are safer with me than where you left them.” Katia snorted at him.
Lucifer leads the girls from the cave saying, “Come, ladies, we have so much more to do yet.”
“What are they up to?” Kane wanted to know.
“My question is why did they leave you out of the loop? You are their cousin and a god.” Nathan retorted.
Amara warned, “Do not read too much into what you see. Remember what you know. Not all is as you think it is.”
“What is with the damn speaking in riddles?” Nathan barked.
Kane snarled, “Do not speak to my mate with that tone of voice.”
Nathan immediately apologized, “Sorry Kane this whole situation is driving me nuts. I do not understand why they would side with their grandfather suddenly.”
“Did you ever stop to think that maybe they were deceiving the grandfather so they could set him up?” Talon quipped and Kane she said, “You will not have to worry about your Alpha speaking to my sister like that again. If he does, he will regret it for the rest of his life.”
Amara giggled, “You cannot do what you did to our Alpha.”
“If he talks like that to you again, I will,” Talon assured her sister.
Dalia suddenly sputtered, “Umm, where did these doors come from?”
The others turned looking at the section of the cage that was just a rock wall. The wall was a part of the cave. Each had a door in the rock wall now. There was a piece of paper taped to each door. Kelp took theirs and read, “While you all were arguing, we took the liberty and made more comfortable accommodations behind the doors. Please understand that everything that happens from here out is for all your own good and safety.”
Mark and Kelp spoke quietly to one another, “What is she planning?” Mark stressed, “Kelp she is going to need us after all of this is done.”
“I know. She says she has grown and is stronger, but I can feel her anger along with the fear she is trying to hide from everyone.” Kelp supplied.
“She is still the same little ghost. She hides her fears better now. I can see in her eyes she has not changed that much.” Mark whispered back.
“Our girl has learned and gained some confidence though. I think this has been good for her too.” Kelp came back with.
Dalia cut them off, “Oh my, look at this.” She said walking into the room behind the door in their cage.
Kelp ran after her, “Sweetheart, wait, we don’t know what or who is in there.”
Laughing Dalia was gazing into the huge area, “There is nothing in here to hurt us. Like the note says it is for our comfort. We have a television and gaming system.”
Mark was following Amara as he opened another door to see what was behind it, “A huge bathroom with running water.”
Kelp yelled from inside another area of rooms, “There is a bunch of bedrooms over here. And Dalia discovered a kitchen.”
“Sure did” Dalia yelled back.
Inside Katia’s cabin, Hyperion was fuming, “Someone had better start explaining what is going on.”
“Calm down Father, we have everything under control.” Selene instructed, “We just need you to go to your dear father and tell him you want to know what he is doing with all of the supernaturals from Katia’s pack.”
“Why? I want to kill the man for what he has done, and you want me to just pay him a visit like nothing is wrong?” Hyperion said in amazement.
“Exactly darling, if you go and inform him of the missing wolves and other supernatural, Uranus will take it seriously because he knows you would rather kill him but now most of your family are missing.” Theia pressed on him.
“You are a part of this hair brain scheme they are hatching?” Hyperion asked his wife.
“Watch it husband or I will show you hair-brained. Now do what we ask so this whole stupid thing can be over with for good.” His wife hissed at him.
“Fine, I hope you all know what you are doing,” Hyperion stated as he shimmered from sight.
“You girls know that if this backfires, we will never be allowed to forget about it,” Theia said to her daughters.
Lucifer grumbled, “You will not be the only ones. He will most likely beat me to a pulp if something goes wrong.”
“Let's go have some fun while we wait.” Katia simpered batting her eyelashes at Lucifer.
“I think you are enjoying these womanly powers of yours, a little too much.” Lucifer purred as he picked her up to put on a show for her mate.
