Staring at her 8 month's baby bump, a soft smile crept on Seraphina's face. She slowly averted her eyes upward and looked at him through the mirror who was massaging and oiling her hairs.
Her smile widened when his grey eyes met with her and he beamed too.
"So what is my Sera thinking that made her so happy?" He asked, massaging her head. Seraphina sighed in relief. Her head was aching a little while ago, so he decided to give her head a massage. His touch was so soft and calming that her mood immediately lightened up.
"Nothing. I'm just memorising these beautiful moments in my heart," She answered, smiling. His beam enlarged at her words. He pecked her temple.
"And we'll continue to collect these beautiful moments throughout our life, together," He uttered, happily but then noticed her smile faded a little at his words.
"What happened?" He asked, concerned. Now just a mere frown on her face terrified him, as her delivery was coming nearer.
Seraphina shook her head and then sighed. She clutched his both palms in hers tightly and pressed them closer to her heart.
"I'm afraid, Arzal," She softly breathed out and he knew about what she was actually afraid of.
Arzal kneeled down before her and cupped back her palms.
"Nothing wrong will happen, Sera. You and our baby, you both are going to be completely fine and safe," He tried to assure her but deep inside, he was afraid too as that day was approaching. He was never afraid of anything until this when it involved her and his child.
Her eyes watered on their own, at his own.
"Promise me, Arzal that you won't let anything happen to our baby,"
His heart ached at her words. He stood up on his knees and then palmed her face.
"Not only just our baby, I won't let anything happen to you both," His voice was firm and determined. She softly exhaled.
"No, Arzal, even if that situation arises, promise me, you'll choose our child before me," She said, looking into his grey orbs.
"You'll always take care of our baby and will give our child the love and care of both the parents in my absen..... " Seraphina was unable to complete her words as he pressed his lips over her.
"We'll always take care of our baby together, Sera,"
Seraphina could clearly feel he was crying too as his voice was shivering. He pulled back and Seraphina saw his watery eyes. Tears were rolling down from his eyes silently. He cleaned her tears and spoke
"It is our love. It is ours and we've created this life together, so we'll be with it together, always and forever,"
That beautiful moment had made both of them very emotional and not only that moment, that pregnancy phase of hers had brought them closer because that phase had created more understanding, love, care between them. They had started understanding each other more beautifully and sometimes, Seraphina even felt like they both were pregnant with their baby together by feeling his care, warmth and love for her. She was really blessed to have his love breathing inside her.
"So, how's the soup, my Seph?" Nevada asked, smilingly, causing a smile to crept on Seraphina's face.
"Did my junior Miss or Mr Grayson like it?"
Seraphina giggled, hearing her.
"Firstly eat it, Sera," Arzal faked her a scolding, who was feeding her the soup. Seraphina pouted and then showed Nevada a thumbs up.
Nevada smiled by watching Arzal feeding the soup to Seraphina and then she turned her head.
"Mission accomplished, my would be hubby. My sister in law and my niece or nephew liked the soup we've prepared for them,"
Nathan smiled, hearing Nevada. They both had decided to stay with Seraphina and Arzal as Seraphina's doctor had given her the delivery date which was next week.
"So tonight, I'll give Seph a head and toe massage as it's my turn tonight," Nevada uttered, excited. Everyone chuckled. Nevada was more excited than all of them.
"Ok... Sera, let's go. You need to take some rest now," Arzal uttered, causing Seraphina to sigh.
"But I've just woken a couple of hours ago, Arzal,"
"No, Sephi. Arzal is right, you should rest more now," Nathan agreed to Arzal.
"Exactly, your doctor has advised you to rest, so let's go now,"
Seraphina again sighed, hearing Arzal and Nathan and nodded with a smile. Arzal helped her in getting up from the sofa carefully and then started taking her slowly towards their bedroom.
Seraphina had just taken a couple of steps when she felt a sharp pain shooting down her spine. Her lower abdomen started tightening in pain.
"Aah... " She moaned in pain and clutched Arzal's arms tightly.
Arzal's breathing hitch by hearing her and watching her face twisting in pain.
"Sera, what happened?" He asked, horrified. Both Nevada and Nathan stormed towards them.
"Seraphina," They both panicked too.
"What happened?" Nathan asked by watching her wiggling in pain in Arzal's arms.
"I think, it's the time. She's in labour,"
Both the men's eyes widened in shock. Arzal's body started sweating in fear.
"Nate, take out the car immediately. We've to take her to the hospital," Nevada uttered, caressing Seraphina's back who was crying in pain.
Nathan hurriedly ran out of the house and Arzal carefully hoisted Seraphina up in his embrace and then got out of the house. Nevada ran behind them.
"Push, Seraphina," The doctor uttered but Seraphina felt like her body was breaking in pain.
"It h..hurts... I.. I can't," She breathed out in pain, clutching Arzal's palm tightly.
"Just a little more, Sera. Please, my princess," He cooed, caressing her head. Even his own eyes had watered by watching her enduring that pain of labour.
"I.. I can't... it's h.. hurting," She cried out, almost fainting in pain.
"No, Seraphina. Don't close your eyes. Open your eyes, push a little more," The doctor and the nurses uttered, worriedly.
Tears were falling down from Arzal's eyes. He could never even imagine the pain she was bearing at that moment. He could just get the glimpse of it by the way she was holding his palm and was crying.
"Don't let her close her eyes. It's dangerous," The doctor said, trying her best to keep Seraphina awake.
"Sera, please, my princess. For me, for our baby, just push a little, my princess, please," He begged her, tearing up more.
His pleading echoed in her heart who had almost lost her hope to survive that pain. Seraphina gripped his palm more tightly and inhaling a long breath, she pushed with every might in her body.
The gentle cries of the baby echoed against the wall of the room, causing Arzal to fall on the ground and break down into tears.
Everyone sighed a breath of relief. Both the baby and mother were now finally safe.
"It's a baby girl," The doctor announced and placed that tiny figure on Seraphina's chest.
Seraphina slowly opened her eyes and heard him and their baby sobbing together. She weakly pushed Arzal's palm who was still crying while looking down because he was terrified. Those moments had shook him to his core.
"The baby and Seraphina are completely fine, Mr Grayson," The doctor told him gently until Arzal's ears got penetrated with that soft mewling of the child. His child.
He slowly took his head up and his teary eyes straight met with Seraphina's watery gaze and then they finally averted down to her chest where he saw that beautiful tiny life crying.
His heart bursted out with an uncountable number of emotions. The fear which was terrifying him had now turned into a beautiful feeling.
Arzal stared at that tiny figure like a statue and then looked at Seraphina again who was smiling at him with tears in her eyes. He again teared up and kissed her forehead.
"You did it, my princess. You did it, Sera," He chanted like a mad man in happiness.
Even the doctors and nurses had slight tears and big smiles on their faces, witnessing the happiness of a father.
"We did it together, Arzal," Seraphina slowly stated, making him smile. He smiled more widely hearing her and then again kissed her forehead.
His eyes again averted towards his kid.
"Can I touch her?" He asked the doctor, like a afraid kid. The doctor smiled.
"You can, Mr Grayson. It's your daughter,"
Arzal's heart tingles but it started beating faster when the nurse took the baby and tried to place it in his arms. His breathing stiffened in nervousness until he saw those beautifully adorable eyes open and those shiny grey eyes came in contact with his silver eyes. It was like he had felt the most alive in that moment. His child, his daughter, was the reflection of him.
A tear slipped down from his eyes by staring into those alluring grey eyes and his mouth finally took that name.
"Sezal Arzia Grayson,"
