"The burn is slightly severe, but don't worry, I have given her the injection and medication to get relief from pain and itching," The doctor uttered, shutting her briefcase.
"But make sure to keep your hand dry, Seraphina. Don't let it get wet, okay?"
Seraphina, who was looking down at her lap, slowly nodded.
"Is there any way to get her burn completely healed as soon as possible, without suffering any pain?"
The doctor turned her head and saw Arzal, who was gazing at Seraphina's burnt skin without blinking.
"Mr Grayson, as I said the burn is slightly severe, so it needs some time to get healed properly and for pain relief, I have given her the injection and here's her medication," The doctor uttered, handing the prescription to him.
He didn't say anything further.
"I'll come back tomorrow to check her skin condition, till then make sure she takes her medicines on time,"
"We'll take care of it, doctor," Rebecca said, who was also present inside the room.
The doctor nodded and got up.
"And yes, one more thing, Seraphina can get into the intoxication of the injection as its dosage was slightly high. So, she might feel dizzy or a headache but don't worry, it will be alright in an hour but just look after her because she is already very weak,"
Arzal bobbed his head, hearing the doctor.
"Take care, Seraphina," The doctor uttered and she just nodded silently.
"Call me anytime if she needs my help," The doctor told Arzal, who again wagged his head in approval.
"Thank you, doctor," Rebecca said. The doctor beamed professionally and then left.
"Seraphina, my child, you will be alright soon. Okay?" Rebecca patted her head, delicately and she still just nodded, without taking her eyes up.
"Arzal, give me the prescription, I'll get her medicines and till then, you take care of her," Rebecca said and left, taking the prescription from him.
An uncomfortable silence started prevailing, as they both were completely alone in that room. Arzal gazed at her lowered head and tried to walk closer to her but stopped.
"I... I want to be alone," Seraphina pleaded him in her shivering voice and slowly took her head up and Arzal felt like something had started burning inside his chest by watching those tears dwelling in her eyes.
"Pl.. Please," She again requested. Arzal clutched his palm but decided not to bother her anymore with his presence because he knew she was already in pain and he didn't want to add into her agony, so he left and besides, he needed to look after a really very relevant thing now.
Painting her nails in a light lavender color, Lyra was admiring her nails, who was sitting on the bed, with a vicious smirk, playing over her lips as she remembered what she had just done to that poor little girl.
The door of her room busted open and her eyes startled by watching that person stepping inside.
"Arzal?" She got up from the bed by watching him straddling towards her with a straight face, followed by a maid, who was carrying a bowl of something in her hand.
"Place it on the table," He commanded and the maid immediately placed the bowl at the table and left after bowing at him.
Lyra's brows arched in confusion when he opened that bowl's lid and then looked at her.
"Well our dinner got ruined and our appetite still remained unsatisfied, so I thought, to have the dinner with you in person," He stated, making a smile crept on her face.
"Sure, why not," Lyra uttered, excited and tried to grab the bowl but Arzal grabbed her wrist.
"Wow, this color suits your nails and hand so well," He complemented, gazing at her lavender painted nails.
Lyra's grin widened at his complement.
"Did you like it?"
"Absolutely, I loved it," He spoke and then trailed his eyes upward but this time, Lyra felt like a shiver ran down her spine when she noticed something unusual in his steel grey orbs and that malicious smirk on his face, made him look more predacious.
"I loved it so much that I am feeling like giving it a memorable reward,"
Lyra's throat turned try at his words and the way he was smirking at her, like an insane. She tried to take her hand away but he didn't let her.
"Wait, just let me reward this hand for its beauty and.. " He halted and with a smirk tightened his grip around her wrist, making her hissed and before she could even react, Lyra witnessed him shoving her palm in that bowl of hot soup.
Lyra screamed in pain and tried to take out her palm but he held it there firmly. Her painful screams made him and his grin satisfied
"And this reward is for trying to hurt me, Lyra," He smirked. Tears streamed down from her flushed face. She struggled badly to get herself free from that pain but he felt no mercy for her, instead her pain emerged calmness inside him.
"Arzal, please leave my hand. It's h.. hurting," She cried out, making him chuckle .
"Really, it's hurting?" He dipped her palm more, making her scream.
"Then why didn't you think about it before hurting her? Before doing this f#cking shit with my Sera?" He groaned and then grabbed a fist of her hair.
He forced her to look upward, making her whimper. His blazing gaze gawked at her teary eyes.
"This is the same pain she felt and is still feeling now. This is the same pain you made her to endure and hurting her means hurting me," He clutched her hair more painfully.
"And I don't forgive them, who tries to hurt me,"
She sobbed in pain and stuttered.
"I.. I am sorry. I.. I won't do it ever again,"
He chuckled like a maniac at her words.
"You better not because this time I am sparing your life just because she already hates me for taking so many lives and I don't want her to hate me more for taking another life for her but... " He pulled her hair more badly and gritted his teeth.
"Next time, do even think about hurting her, I'll make sure to make that day the last day of your f#cking life, Lyra Bailey," He declared and then released her from his vigorous hold.
Lyra immediately took out her hand and saw her skin had started peeling.
His chest filled with sadistic contentment, by watching her in pain.
"Hope my reward is memorable enough to get remembered forever, Lyra," He smirked and then walked out from there.
After getting out of Lyra's room, he decided to straight check on Seraphina. He was walking towards her room when he saw Rebecca coming from that direction.
"How's she?" He asked her. Rebecca sighed and nodded.
"She is fine and has finally fallen asleep after a lot of efforts because it is hurting her badly but now she is finally asleep. I am just coming from her room,"
He heaved at her answer and then wagged his head, making Rebecca leave but he didn't stop himself from getting to her room because he could never rest, knowing she was there in pain.
He slightly pushed her door which was open and stepped inside. The room's lights were dimmed but the thing which caught his attention was her empty bed.
She wasn't there. He checked everywhere, even the bathroom's room door was open. He turned restless and was about to yell her name but stopped when he noticed the door of the balcony was open.
He hurriedly straddled towards there and there she was, sitting on the sofa, which was present on the balcony. She was hugging her knees, but restrained her burned palm from getting more hurt. Her face was placed on her arm. She was gazing above at the dark sky where the stars and moon were gleaming.
The night was chilled so he got inside the room back and grabbed a low weighted duvet for her.
Mindful of her burned hand, he covered her body with the duvet but noticed she didn't stop him, even finding his presence there.
After covering her, he witnessed she was still staring at the sky. She was looking like a beautiful broken doll under that shimmering moonlight.
Arzal sighed and kneeled down beside her on the floor. None of them said a single word to each other but they both were completely aware of each other's presence. She continued to stare at the peaceful moon whereas he just stared at his peace.
Finally he noticed her to blink her lashes and teared her eyes away from the sky and looked at him. His chest tightened by watching her glossy eyes which were shimmering under the moonlight.
A tear rolled down from her pale cheeks as she just gazed at him, wordlessly. Nothing had ever hurted him more than watching her in pain. How could it even be possible that her pain was hurting him?
Their eyes remained on each other as more tears started to fall from her eyes. He was about to get up and asked her about the pain in her hand but before that, Seraphina got up from the sofa and in an instant, she sat on his lap and hugged him tightly.
She buried her face in his neck and teared up more badly and her next words made him frozen.
"H.. How could y...you love someone else after m.. making love to me?"
