His Forbidden Obsession

Chapter 54:- Nothing To Me

Ch. 54 / 125 Feb 13, 2026

"Me and Lyra have decided to make our relationship public. We're getting engaged, next week,"

Her azure eyes snapped towards the owner of that voice, only to witness those icy grey orbs were already on her.

"What? But so suddenly?"

Seraphina trailed her eyes to her front and saw Rebecca was looking shocked too.

"Yes, because me and Arzal, we both love each other and it's almost a year, we're together, so we thought to take a further step to make our relationship official,"

Seraphina heard those words from the mouth of that woman, who was sitting beside. She never knew a couple of words were capable of hurting her so much.

She finally looked at that woman and noticed she had seen her before and then remembered, she had seen her with him on his party's night. She was there with him too.

"Oh.. Okay and if you both are happy with this, then I am also happy with your decision," Rebecca beamed a bit.

"Indeed I am more than happy about this, Mom,"

Her heart ached in pain, hearing his words. Seraphina didn't look at him again. She downcast her eyes and noticed her sight was blurry. Her eyes got filled with tears automatically but before anyone could notice, she decided to leave.

"Thank you for the b.. breakfast. I'll get my s... school bag," She stuttered and hurriedly tried to get up from her chair but she was feeling so messed up that unintentionally her hand slammed against the glass of water before her and fell on the floor.

The glass shattered into uncountable pieces.

"Seraphina, careful," Rebecca said, worriedly, getting up from her chair

"I.. I am sorry," She apologized and then hurriedly bent down to collect the broken glass pieces on the floor but before she could touch them, Seraphina saw a palm grab her wrist and stopped her.

She slowly trailed her eyes upward and again saw those grey eyes, which were already staring at her glossy gaze.

"Call a maid to clean this up," He uttered, firmly, without taking his eyes away from her.

"Go, get your bag. I'll drop you to your school,"

Her eyes filled with more tears, hearing him, which didn't go unnoticed by him at all. Seraphina snatched her wrist out from his hold and turned around and his gaze just witnessed her storming away from there.

Seraphina got inside her room and ran inside the bathroom. She stormed towards the basin and looked at herself. Tears were aggressively rolling down from her eyes but why? Why was she crying? Why was it hurting and breaking her so much?

Seraphina opened the tap and muffled her cries in the sound of that loud running water. Seraphina cried her heart out and that was where she, for the first time, hated herself for being so sensitive and immature. She knew nothing but just to cry, cry and cry over each and everything.

After calming herself down and making herself understood that it should not bother her, she washed her face and got out but the aching in her heart was increasing with each passing second, which would turn worse in front of him.

Seraphina stepped out of the bathroom, while patting her face with the towel but her aching heart clenched more badly when she saw that specific person, standing in front of her.

"Arzal is waiting for you," Lyra uttered, scanning Seraphina from her head to her toe.

The displeasing and judging look was evident in her eyes for Seraphina but Seraphina didn't care less. Seraphina was habitual of people judging her, both physically and mentally.

Seraphina walked towards her study table to grab her bag.

"By the way, you're not a minor, right Seraphina?"

Seraphina fisted her palms at her question. She knew she was trying to put her down.

"No, I am going to be 19 soon," She answered, calmly while zipping her bag .

Seraphina carried the bag on her shoulders and then tried to walk past her.

"Stay away from him, Seraphina Miller. It will be good for you,"

Those words made Seraphina stop her feet. She tossed her head and saw Lyra glaring at her with a threatening look.

"Pardon, Ms. but I don't know what you're trying to say," Seraphina said, completely aware of what she had actually meant.

Lyra chuckled at her answer.

"You don't know or you don't wanna know, Seraphina?" Lyra smirked.

"But if you really don't know then it's good for you, darling because Arzal is mine and now we're going to get married soon. I am the love of his life,"

Seraphina had never believed in violence but right at that moment, she wanted to punch her face badly, after hearing her words but she had no need to do it.

"Ms. I don't know what is bothering you? How am I related to your and Mr Grayson's wedding? But if you're concerned about mine and Mr Grayson's relationship then I don't know about him but for me... " Seraphina halted and peered into her eyes, daringly.

"Mr Grayson means nothing to me, except my brother's boss," Seraphina declared without stuttering and then revolved around but her throbbing heart shattered into pieces by watching him, standing at her door.

His piercing grey eyes were already gazing at her and the voracious darkness emerging in them had made it evident for her to understand that he had heard their conversation. Good for him, he also needed to know, he meant nothing to her but was she really trying to tell him that or was convincing herself?

Seraphina saw his gaze gawking at her but she, without speaking anything, walked past him.

"Has he gone nuts? How could he marry that Lyra Bailey?"

Seraphina didn't react to Nevada's comment and continued to fix her gaze on her book before her. They all were waiting for their teacher to come.

"But how do you know about this, Nevada?" Evelyn asked, eating her chips.

"Nick told me about Arzal getting engaged to Lyra Bailey and this thing has triggered me badly. Seriously Lyra Bailey? Has he turned blind or what?" Nevada uttered, frustrated.

"But why? What's wrong with Lyra Bailey?" Evelyn quiered.

"I have met her a couple of times in Nick and Arzal's business parties and trust me, she is a damn attention seeker. She is too fake and self centered. I have seen her bashing on a waiter badly, just because he had given her the wrong drink. She had insulted that waiter very disrespectfully," Nevada answered, frowning.

"Wow, seems like she's a b#tch,"

"Yeah, she is, Evelyn but what the heck is wrong with Arzal. He knows about her true self then why is he doing this?"

"Maybe they both truly love each other,"

Evelyn's words made Seraphina clutch her book tightly.

"Yeah, love.. " Nevada chuckled, humorously.

"She loves his money, not him and besides Arzal could never fall in love with a girl like her. She's too fake for him."

At the end Of Nevada's comment, the teacher came and everyone turned shut and focused on their class.

"He will drop you today too, don't worry, Evelyn, "

"No, I am definitely not going with your brother today. I am fine, Nevada,"

Seraphina heard her friends conversing. She was in no mood to speak, especially when she had to face him again, all alone as he was coming to pick her up.

She was now completely ignoring his existence but for how long? She knew she would break at a very bad point.

Seraphina saw his car, followed by Nicklaus's car stopping before them and they both came out.

Seraphina turned her head around to avoid looking at his face.

"Hey! you're finally here. Wait Arzal, I have something important to ask you?" Nevada uttered, walking towards him.

"Are you under some compulsion?" Nevada asked, scanning his eyes, making Arzal chuckled.

"Neva, now what are you saying, girl?" Nicklaus stated, annoyed.

"Then how in hell he has agreed to get engaged to that Lyra Bailey, Nick?" Nevada spat.

"Nevada, don't get into his personal matters. Leave it," Nicklaus said but Nevada shrugged her head.

"Arzal is my brother, just like you. I have every right to stop him from making such a big mistake, Nick," Nevada snapped and looked at Arzal.

"Arzal, why are you marrying her? You know she's too selfish and a fake person. How will you live your life with her? She would make your life hell,"

Seraphina heard him chuckling at Nevada's words. She still didn't look at him, until.

"I have tried a sweet innocence, Nevada but it didn't satisfy me enough,"

Seraphina gritted her teeth because she knew what he meant by those words whereas her heart ached in pain.

"Ok, now enough. Let's go back home, Neva," Nicklaus said, making Nevada sighed.

"Fine, let's go, Evelyn,"

"No, I am not coming," Evelyn uttered but Nevada convinced her and took her with her and they drove away.

Arzal glanced at Seraphina, who was looking everywhere but him. He tried to open his car's door for her but before he could do that, Seraphina opened his car's back door and settled herself there.

He clenched his jaw but restrained himself from creating a scene there. He slammed his car's door loudly and settled himself in his seat and drove away from there.

In the evening, Seraphina was standing on the balcony, attached to her room. Cool breeze was stroking against her entire body. Her azure eyes were wordlessly gazing at the slightly darkened sky.

She inhaled a heavy breath to calm that storm of emotions inside her but it seemed to turn more bad. It was hurting her more badly. How could she stop when she didn't even know why it was hurting her?

Her eyes automatically filled with tears again. What was really happening with her? What she was really feeling and why?

She was asking those questions to herself again and again when she heard that deeply husky voice, penetrating that silence.

"Well, you haven't still congratulated me for my engagement, Sera,"
