Next morning, Seraphina was combing her hair to go to school. She hadn't seen him after their argument at his study room but his threat was still echoing in her head.
Seraphina sighed and grabbed her school bag and left from her room. Now, it was time to finally face him at the breakfast table.
She was quietly eating her breakfast and noticed he hadn't come to have his breakfast. It was her time to go to school and he always dropped her to her school, no matter what, so where he was.
Seraphina got done eating her breakfast and thanked the staff girl. She got up from her chair and looked at her wrist watch. Where was he? She was getting late but still she decided to wait for him, until
"Seraphina,"
Seraphina turned around, hearing that voice and her eyes widened by watching a smiling Nevada, who ran towards her and then hugged her tightly.
"Hey! My beautiful, today we're going to school together," Nevada uttered, breaking the hug, making Seraphina confused with her words.
"Arzal has told me to drop you to your school and pick you up from there, till he doesn't come back,"
Seraphina snapped her eyes and saw Nicklaus, coming towards them.
"Yeah, now we'll go together. Let's go," Nevada held Seraphina's hand in excitement but Seraphina felt a sting in her heart, hearing Nicklaus. He might be busy with his work but still Seraphina couldn't make herself to cope up with it, especially after what happened between them at his study room.
"Let's go, if you are ready?"
Seraphina nodded at Nicklaus and grabbed her bag and all of them left.
"So girls, have a good day. I'll pick you up after school," Nicklaus said and both the girls nodded and bid their goodbyes and then turned around to walk inside the school gate.
Nicklaus also turned around to leave but stumbled with something or in precise, someone, which fell before him on the ground with a loud thud.
"Ouch...."
Nicklaus saw a girl, which he assumed was a school student because she was wearing a school uniform and her school bag. Her face was twisted in pain. She really got bumped very badly.
He sighed and extended his palm to her to help her in getting up but she pushed his hand away forcefully and got up on her feet. Her amber orbs were gawking at him.
"You blind piece of shit. Can't you use these big ugly eyes of yours?" She spat at him, making him stunned.
"Ouch.." She again groaned, rubbing her hips.
"Look, I didn't mean to..."
"Shut up and don't ever come in front of me again or else, I'll puncture this nasty face of yours," She threatened him and then dashed towards her school gate.
Nicklaus was too startled to react. Did just damn school going teenager just not only threatened him, she called him ugly and nasty.
He frowned, restraining himself from going inside the school and taught a lesson to that big and sharp mouth teenager, so he just got inside his car and drove away.
"Oh.. My... it's hurting so bad,"She groaned, clutching her hips.
"But who was he, Evelyn?"Seraphina asked, massaging her best friend's bum.
"An ungly blind eyes frog,"Evelyn groaned, making Nevada chuckle, who was also sitting with them in one of the benches of their school garden.
Evelyn scoffed, making Nevada shut.
"Opps, sorry but your words just made me remember someone, Evelyn," Nevada said, surpassing her giggle.
"Who?" Evelyn asked.
"My br.. "Nevada's words halted with the bell of their class.
" Let's go. It's finally our damn literature class, after that I can go home and sleep in peace and relaxed my precious butts,"
Nevada and Seraphina chuckled, hearing Evelyn and then they went to their class together.
"Now where the hell is that good for nothing brother of mine. I had messaged him 15 minutes ago and he's still not here," Nevada uttered. All three girls were standing at the gate of their school.
"Hey! Evelyn, you can leave if you want. You're already in pain and I don't know when my damn brother will come," Nevada said.
"No, it's okay. I can... " Evelyn stopped, watching a car, stopping before them.
"Finally he's here," Nevada spoke.
The door opened and Evelyn's eyes widened, watching him.
"You... " She almost shouted, making Nevada and Seraphina bewildered.
This time, Nicklaus was also glaring at her.
"You also know him already, Evelyn? How the heck is my good for nothing brother so famous?" Nevada remarked whereas Evelyn snapped her eyes at her.
"Famous my a#s. He's that ugly blind frog with whom I had stumbled in the morning today,"
Nicklaus clenched his jaw whereas Nevada and Seraphina became shocked.
"Wow.. That's why your description about him was making me recall the face of my brother. Indeed he's an ugly frog," Nevada chuckled
"Shut your mouth, Neva and you.. " Nicklaus peered at Evelyn's angry amber eyes.
"Watch your mouth, you big mouth kid. Limit your tongue's use to your age," He spat.
"What did you just call me, you ugly old sag?" Evelyn retorted back, making Nevada burst out laughing.
"I am old enough to break each and every saggy bone in your ugly body,"
Nicklaus gritted his teeth in annoyance. He was about to walk towards her to shut her up but Nevada came in between.
"Stay away from my friend, Nick. I'll break your jaw if you again hurted her," Nevada threatened her brother.
Nicklaus didn't say anything further but just gave a deadly glance to Evelyn, who was also glaring at her. He frowned and uttered.
"Get inside the car, Seraphina and Neva," He uttered, still glaring at Evelyn, who too didn't give up gawking at him, until
"Hey! Why don't you come with us, Evelyn? Nick will drop you too to your home,"
"NEVER," Both Nicklaus and Evelyn shouted in unison, making Nevada startled.
"I'll prefer limping on the road than sitting in his car with him," Evelyn said, rolling her eyes.
"Perfect then, go and limp, Miss Evelyn because that's what creepy creatures like you usually do,"
Evelyn clenched her jaw, hearing him, who was now grinning at her.
"Shut up, Nick, and Evelyn please come with us, you're already hurt and.. "
"No, Nevada. I am fine, my house is just 15 minutes walk from here. I can manage. Thank you for asking. Bye," She said and looked at Seraphina.
"Bye, Seph,"
Seraphina tried to stop her but Evelyn already turned around to walk. She gawked at him one last time and tried to walk, but hissed a bit because her hip was aching badly.
Evelyn tried to walk past him when she heard him saying.
"I'll drive you to your home, sit,"
She tossed her head and tried to find any mocking or teasing in his eyes but there was none.
"No, thank you. I am good," Evelyn stated.
"Eve, please, come with us. He will drop you to your home, please," Seraphina requested, concerned about her injury.
"Yes, Evelyn please,"
Evelyn sighed, hearing her friend's requests. She glanced at Nicklaus, who was also waiting for her answer. She heaved and nodded.
"Okay,"
Seraphina and Nevada smiled. They got inside the car and Nicklaus opened the passenger seat's door for her because Seraphina and Nevada had reserved the back seat.
Evelyn swallowed and tried to get inside the car, but.
"Welcome, Miss Evelyn,"
She snapped her eyes and saw Nicklaus slightly smirking at her. She frowned and got inside the car and he too settled on his seat and drove away.
Just like from the past 3 days, Seraphina was having her breakfast but her appetite seemed to have gone. For 3 days, her life was being too calm but there was no peace because it had been 3 days, she had last seen. He hadn't come back to his home. She would be lying if she said she hadn't checked her phone to see his message or call but there was none.
He had completely vanished. She had heard from Rebecca that he had gone out of the country for some business purpose. She knew she should be happy, knowing he wasn't there to mess her life up but she couldn't help that emptiness aching in her heart. Was she turning insane? Was she really missing him?
"Hey! Why are you not eating, dear?"
Seraphina shrugged herself and again started eating, hearing Rebecca. She was about to put the spoon in her mouth, when she heard the staff uttering.
"Good morning, Mr Grayson,"
Her body froze, hearing his heavy footsteps, getting closer to them but the thing which made her untidy was the sound of a heel tackling against the floor, along with his footsteps.
"Arzal.. Oh...hey! how are you, Lyra? "
Seraphina heard Rebecca saying and there she noticed he had company with him but Seraphina still didn't turn around to look at him or his company.
She witnessed him sitting on his chair and a woman sitting beside her. Seraphina was looking down to her plate but her eyes caught those bare long legs of that woman, beside her, which were on display because of her short dress.
"I am good, Rebecca,"
Seraphina heard that woman answering. Her voice was attractive but Seraphina still didn't look upward.
"So how was your work, Arzal?"
"It turned better with Lyra's company,"
Finally her ears heard that raspy deep voice but her heart stinged at his words. Seraphina heard that woman, Lyra tittering at his answer.
Seraphina was in no mood to get involved in their conversation, so she decided to leave. Seraphina was about to get up when she heard him saying something, which broke her soul into pieces.
"Me and Lyra has decided to make our relationship public. We are getting engaged, next week,"
