Erika's POV
I showed up in front of the warriors and glared at them. Then I jumped up again and stepped on their heads. They were bound to take it as a provocation.
As expected, the warriors began to chase after me.
"Stop!" the one who led the warriors shouted. Of course, I wouldn’t stop it. At his words, I even stepped up my speed.
I was very quick in my wolf form and none of the warriors could get close to me. So they began to use weapons on me, arrows, daggers, whips with fire, and so on. These warriors seemed well-trained.
What would happen if they hit me with their weapons was beyond my imagination. I ran as fast as possible and made many turns to get rid of the warriors. I was not as quick as Angel, but still, I was way much faster than ordinary warriors.
They attacked me with daggers and arrows, which I dodged easily.
The lead of the warriors stopped chasing me and made a call. No doubt, he was reporting it to other pack leaders and asking for help.
I turned around and Angel was nowhere to be seen. Good, she had escaped.
Now I could do whatever I wanted. I would turn the place into a mess. At the same time, I was memorizing the places.
I knocked down a warrior, damaged their gate, and ran to the buildings ahead.
“It’s heading to the pack house! Back up the guards at the pack house!” I heard the leader talk on the phone.
So among the white tall buildings ahead was their pack house. They were about to back up the guards. But nothing could stop me. There must be something that I wanted in the pack house.
More warriors were closing in on me from different directions, not only warriors, I saw from the corner of my eyes that a pack leader showed up. I didn’t see his face clearly, but I could tell easily that he was a pack leader from his domineering vibe.
I changed my mind.
I gradually slowed down and panted. As expected, I was soon injured by the pack leader with a dart.
I collapsed on the ground and got sleepy. It occurred to me immediately that the dart was poisoned. Maybe I needed to black out now. Or should I shift into human form?
I closed my eyes, pretending that I had blacked out, while I pricked my ears and listened to the surroundings carefully. I didn’t shift into human form to be safe.
“Bentley, what should we do now?” A warrior asked.
“Put it in prison and we’ll interrogate it later.” A low male voice sounded. It was a young voice.
I was put into something like a car and put into prison. They just threw me away and I fell on my head. Soon I heard the sound of shackles.
After the sound faded, I didn't immediately open my eyes. I waited until the guards were sound asleep.
It was dark outside. A black shadow appeared at the first-floor window of the pack house. It was me in a guard’s clothes. I quietly opened the window and quickly climbed in.
Unlike Derek's room, it wasn't completely dark. I looked closely and found out where the light came from. The floor and walls were all made of fluorescent materials and they reminded me of the pack's name, the Lumiere Pack.
In front of me were piles of dusty books. I knew intuitively that this room had what I needed.
Angel could get out of the pack with her speed, but I couldn't seem to get out of this place on my own. So I wasn't going to escape on my own, I was going to wait for Derek to rescue me.
He must have noticed that I was gone and was probably looking for me now, and I wondered if he had met Angel yet.
I sighed, picked up a book, and flipped it open, reading it by the light of the wall. It was a book about weapons, with pictures of various weapons as well as text descriptions.
My eyes fell on some sort of dart. This was the one the man had used to hurt me, and this picture was even circled. I had to admit that we had similar preferences when it came to the choice of weapons for combat.
The back of my right leg had stopped bleeding, but it still hurt and I often had to change positions to feel more comfortable.
As the light was dim and my eyes were starting to get tired, I put the book down and got up to walk around and rest my eyes.
Suddenly I noticed a door in front of me. I walked over, stopped in front of the door, put my hand on it, closed my eyes, and suddenly a feeling of familiarity seemed to fill my heart.
I pushed the door open, only to find a much larger room. I was alarmed to see a large bed and a wardrobe inside. It turned out that I had inadvertently entered a bedroom.
But the faint smell of dust in the air suggested that it was a room that hadn't been occupied for some time. I took two steps forward and looked around when a face suddenly appeared. My pupils dilated!
