From Gamma to Luna

Chapter 77

Ch. 77 / 98 Jan 10, 2026

Derek’s POV

The interrogation began officially the next morning.

Ever since we came back to the bedroom, Erika had been restless and could easily get startled. At night, she didn’t sleep well. What happened during the day was too much to take and she had nightmares one after another for the whole night. So I didn’t allow her to witness the interrogation anymore and asked her to take a rest. I would interrogate him personally.

Baron had told us everything we wanted to know in detail, but there was one thing that he omitted, which was the thing I wanted to know the most.

He didn’t mention the poison he used on Erika that could make her unable to speak. I always thought that it might have something to do with mental disease, which could be very tricky. But now, Baron said that it was because of poison. His words gave me a pause for thought. Maybe the mental problem was not the main reason. She had always been a strong-willed woman and a good fighter. It was not that easy to break her down.

I took a long barbed whip to Baron's face.

He twitched and gave out muffled grunts.

However, he then forced a smile, looked up at me, and said with contempt, "Do what you want. You won't get it from me."

What a hopeless and incorrigible devil! After what he had done to Erika and her mother, he could still laugh and didn’t show the slightest remorse. I bit the back of my teeth in anger, then dropped the whip, and picked up a steel rod.

I took two steps closer and brought the steel rod down hard on his arm, sending electricity through him at the same time. Instantly, his features were distorted with pain. He screamed uncontrollably. His body started to twitch violently.

The electric shock lasted for a minute.

I removed the steel rod and asked with a low voice, “Do you want to die?”

He nodded his head weakly.

The next second, I repeated what I did a few times and didn’t stop until he was unconscious.

“You don’t deserve a quick death,” I said to him coldly before he passed out.

I picked up a tissue and cleaned my hands carefully. At the same time, I looked at the guard beside me.

The guard immediately got a bucket of cold water with ice and poured it over Baron to wake him up.

The interrogation continued. Shrill cries of pain started to sound.

An hour later.

Baron was half dead. He had been hanged because he was no longer conscious.

But he still hadn't given me the answers I wanted.

"You'll never know. Just kill me." Baron was no longer conscious, but he kept repeating those two sentences.

I put the stick down and stared at Baron, wondering what to do next with a frown.

According to Francis, Baron had no family, wasn't married, and had no children. He had committed suicide after finding out that Lucy another man. His hatred for Lucy and Erika was what kept him alive. Now that he had failed, killing Erika was out of the question. So he didn’t care about his life. He only wanted to causebrings much pain as possible before he died.

But the game had just begun and a quick death was impossible. I couldn't forgive what he had done to Erika after kidnapping her. Every time I thought about it, I was overwhelmed by hatred and wanted to use all kinds of torture on him.

I dropped the steel rod, burned an iron bar red and pressed it hard against Baron's body. He still tried to irritate me so that he could get killed, but I considerably avoided the vital parts so that he would not die so easily.

I'd been interrogating him for three days and still hadn't got any useful information out of him.

Baron's face was not recognizable anymore. He looked very horrible with cracked lips, a bleeding nose, and blood everywhere.

I had to admit, I was losing patience. I had wasted much time on him and couldn't get anything else out of him.

He was eager to die. Then he would get killed in the most savage way.

Two days later, at the border of the Blood Moon Pack.

Baron would be executed today. We needed to kill him as soon as possible, as Erika lost sleep these days. Baron’s death was the best sleeping pill. And the only reason why I waited for two days was simply because I wanted him to get killed when he was conscious.

The executors had broken all of Baron’s bones in the cell. Then they put him into a sack and sent him to the depths of the forest. He would die alone and in despair. That was the most severe punishment in our pack. He might be frozen to death, starved to death, or he might be soon eaten by some beasts. The Moon Goddess would decide what Baron deserved. Of course, the executors would guard around the clock to make sure that no one came here to save him. They wouldn’t come back until Baron died.
