From Gamma to Luna

Chapter 92

Ch. 92 / 98 Jan 10, 2026

Francis’ POV

What a sweet torture.

The veil clung to my face closely and it felt very uncomfortable.

The rain was so heavy that I couldn’t open my eyes.

The most alarming thing was that the wet veil made it hard to breathe. It clung to my nose closely. I had to hold my breath in case I might get the rain into my nose.

It was the longest yet most fantastic minute of my life.

Since my eyes were closed, all the other sensations were magnified.

I felt her hot breath on my ears. It tickled me when she spoke to my ears. The faint smell of her body, the mixed smell of rose and lily, graced my nose and turned me on completely. The thought that she was studying my face with the veil on made my heart race.

Her voice sounded again.

“Can I touch your face with the veil on? I promise…”

Of course, she could.

I grasped her hand and put it on my face before she finished her words.

She gasped at my rash behavior.

These days I was overcautious. I broke her heart times and again, which also put me through a great ordeal.

Now that she knew clearly the bottom line and promised that she wouldn’t cross it, there was nothing to worry about. Honestly, I was happy that we could get on well before she officially became Luna.

I could feel her fingers tracing down my nose, my lips, and my jawline.

The touch of her finger was completely different. While the cold rain fell on my face relentlessly, the warm and soft touch of her fingers on my face sent electricity in my veins and almost drove me crazy.

“Wow…” Her audible sigh gave me the urge to smile. Her reaction pleased me greatly. It was a pity that I couldn’t open my eyes and see it. I had to try very hard to fight against the urge to hold her tight and kiss her.

However, the next second, I felt a warm touch on my lips.

Although the veil stood in between, I could tell that it was not her fingers.

Her fingers couldn’t fit perfectly with the shape of my lips.

I couldn’t believe it at first, but the pressure on my lips was so real.

She kissed me!

No one stuck out the tongue. Technically, it was not a kiss with the cold damp veil between our lips. But it drove my wolf crazy.

I couldn’t take it anymore.

I opened my eyes and pushed her down to the ground.

I was losing control...

Caught off guard, she looked at me with her eyes wide open. The messy hair that clung to her forehead, the lips that slightly parted, and her eyes with scare and surprise ... I couldn't take it anymore.

Her face also changed. She must have noticed the change in my pupil color.

What she didn’t see was my canines behind the veil.

Goddess knew how much I wanted to mark her.

It was wrong. But the darkness, the falling rain, and the deafening thunder emboldened me.

No one would know it. Elsa would cover for me even if she knew it. I could get what I wanted immediately...

However, before I could do anything, Angel pushed me away and said in a serious tone, “Nicholas, it’s not the right time! Stop!”

All of a sudden, all my courage disappeared.

I felt a little dismayed being rejected, but I soon recovered from it.

“Yes, you’re right.”

It ashamed me that I was overwhelmed just then and lost my reason.

“How does it feel to wear a wet veil?” She asked in curiosity after we went back to the little hut again.

My brain was a mess because of unsatisfied needs. All I was thinking about was her body, so it took a while for her words to sink in.

“It feels bad, but it doesn’t matter as long as you’re not mad at me.”

“You deserve it!” she said and pursed her lips, with her arms crossed.

“Yes, I was a jerk,” I smiled and shrugged. I wondered if my pupil color went back to normal.

“By the way, why did you come to the training ground this afternoon? Did you go over there to see me?” She looked at me with expectation.

“Yes. I want to see how you’re doing. And I got some news for you. The Blood Moon Pack will hold a birthday party for their Luna. You can prepare a gift in advance,” I said.

“Really? But I’m not your Luna yet. Will they invite me?” I thought she would say OK, but I got an unexpected answer.

What was she talking about? Of course, she would be invited.

“You’re friends, aren’t you?” I asked. Somehow, she felt a little weird after she pushed me away.

“How do you know we’re friends?”

Another question. Now I began to feel that I was being interrogated.

“Let me guess, did Francis tell you?” she added.

She said the name. My heart began to pound. Goddess, she must have noticed something wrong. But what was it? What was the thing that gave me away? I recalled what just happened and I didn’t have the slightest clue.

I smiled at her and paced to the door slowly.

The rain still fell heavily. It seemed that it would last for a whole night.

“Where are you going?” she burst out into a smile.

“As you said, it’s … really hot,” I took several deep breaths and stood outside the door. Hopefully, the cold rain could help me sober up so that I could pull the wool over her eyes.

“Nicholas, there’s a thing I need to tell you,” she suddenly took on a serious tone.

“What?”

“I need to ask you a question first. What do you think of Francis?” she asked.

“Well, he’s … kinda… He’s a jerk,” I answered after consideration.

“Nicholas, you’ve said that I could count on you, right?” She changed the topic again.

“Yes,” I turned around, faced her, and smiled.

“The thing is that Nicholas once tried to mark me and humiliate me when we were alone. I want you to kill him immediately after we get out of this mountain!” she said under her gritted teeth.

That was really a bolt from the blue. She did say that she would tell me about it, but I thought she was joking.

Obviously, she was not joking.
