From Gamma to Luna

Chapter 76

Ch. 76 / 98 Jan 10, 2026

Erika’s POV

"I'm not talking nonsense, no! Some poisons can cause hematorrhea and kill pregnant women. The poisons are easy to get, very accessible." Baron began to mutter. He seemed on the verge of an emotional breakdown and didn't realize what he had said.

"Really? But who would do that? Lucy is such a nice person, who would hate her and want to kill her? And her baby, who would want to kill a newborn?" Alex fixed his eyes on Baron and asked.

Baron stopped muttering and then seemed to think of something. He immediately denied what he had just said, "No, no. No one is trying to hurt her. Her baby, her baby is alive..." and then Baron looked up at the ceiling and shouted, "No one hurts her. The baby is not dead. She’s alive!"

Suddenly, as if he had seen something frightening, his pupils dilated and his face turned white as he trembled.

“What are you talking about? Do you lose your mind? Lucy’s baby is dead!”

“No, she’s alive. She can’t talk, but she’s alive. Lucy, why not take a look at your baby? She’s a grown-up woman now. Stop messing with me!” Baron began to flail his arms and legs, trying to get rid of something horrible.

My heart began to pound quickly. I couldn’t take it anymore. I leaned against Derek, panting. Tears streamed down my face before I even knew it. Only when I found that my vision was blurred, did I realize that I was crying.

Derek held me in his arms and whispered, “You can take a rest in another room. I’ll monitor them.”

I shook my head without hesitation. I would stay here and see the whole thing.

Baron was still rambling.

“Who is she? Why can’t she talk?” Alex asked coldly. Baron had lost his mind and there was no need to pretend friendly.

“Isn’t that obvious?” Baron started to laugh, “Of course, she can’t talk because she was poisoned.”

My eyes widened. At his words, the memories that I tried to blot out suddenly came back.

The smile on Baron’s face grew larger and larger.

“I poisoned Lucy before she gave birth to her baby and I thought that I could kill both of them. But her baby survived. When I found it out, I kidnapped her and tried to kill her. She was not dead. But she can’t talk anymore. Lucy, you deserve it! Don’t blame me! You have no one to blame but yourself!” Baron had gone completely mad. He was babbling on and on, looking terrified one minute and cursing hysterically the next.

I buried my head in Derek's arms and covered my ears, unable to take it anymore.

"What's wrong?" Derek quickly noticed something unusual about me.

I remember that... Baron was the one who had kidnapped me!

"Him?" Derek asked.

I nodded heavily, then straightened up and continued to look even though my body was shaking uncontrollably.

Alex couldn't pretend anymore. He grabbed Baron by the collar, lifted him, then lunged at him, and punched him on his face as hard as he could.

Baron wasn't much of a fighter. Without his poison, which could be used as a secret weapon, he was weak. After being hit by Alex, Baron fell straight backward and closed his eyes.

Alex stood still, shaking.

After a few seconds, Baron slowly opened his eyes. Blood came from his nostrils.

The rage in his eyes faded and he seemed to have come to his senses.

He looked around the chaos, as if remembering what had just happened.

At this point, Alex couldn't stand it any longer and slammed the door.

Ten minutes later, a group of soldiers came in, dragged Baron away, and tortured him.

Probably realizing how much he had already said, Baron just told them everything he had done.

He went into detail about how he hated Lucy and how he had paid the obstetrician to drug Lucy and try to kill me before I was even born. Two years after I was born, Baron found that I was still alive and tried to find a chance to kill me. I finally understood why Charles never let me leave the pack when I was young. But I still snuck out of the pack and into the woods. I was kidnapped by Baron. According to Baron, he tried to poison me with various lethal poisons, only to find that I was immune to most of the poison. Therefore, he changed his mind. He made another poison and made meI unable to speak. He also left a long scar on my face. I was left in the woods with a long scar on my face, unable to ask for help. I passed out in despair.

After that, Charles agreed that I could learn to fight with other warriors.

That was what I tried to forget after I became a warrior.

As I became stronger and stronger, Baron gave up the idea of killing me. But he still kept an eye on me. Knowing that he and Richard had the same enemy, Baron began to scheme against me.
