Friday!
Since she woke up, Mia found herself anticipating whatever plans Colton had for her tonight. It has been so long she felt this way. Her exes never gave her a REAL date. Christoph was the worst; he never planned dates, instead, Mia was the one who planned and paid for the few dates they had.
Knowing how amazing Colton is and how much he loved to give her the best, she couldn't help but get excited about tonight's event. She had a surprise for him too and she couldn't wait to see his reaction.
Mia planned to ditch work early today. She took her leave when it was 4 pm. She drove to the salon for a makeover. She wanted to look good for Colton.
Mia Edwards spent almost two hours there and then she headed to her apartment.
Stepping in, She placed her handbag on the couch and left for the bathroom to go take a shower. She had less than an hour before Colton arrived and she didn't want to keep him waiting.
Getting out of the shower, She dried her body and started dressing up. By seven on the dot, She was ready for her date night with Colton Royal.
Mia almost teared up when she looked at herself in the mirror. She couldn't believe her reflection. She was looking very Beautiful in the gorgeous outfit Colton sent to her. It was okay to say that she looked like a bag of money. She definitely looked like someone from high-class society and she couldn't wait to see the reaction on Colton's face once he saw her. Mia blushed. She was sure he was going to be beautifully shocked.
Once she was done gushing over how pretty she looked, She reached for her purse and tried to stuff it with some essential items. Even though she was sure that Colton got her covered, She put some dollars into her purse, closed it, reached for her phone, and then proceeded to the living room.
She sat on the couch, kept herself company with her phone, and waited for Colt to show up.

The more Colton Royal delayed, the more Mia's excitement turned to that of worry. 7:30 came and she saw no sign of Colt. She decided to give him a call. She was relieved when it started ringing and she waited for his answer but he didn't pick up.
Mia sighed. She dialed the number again but got no answer.
"Calm down, Mia. He's probably on his way here. He might be driving and that's why he wasn't picking." She tried to calm herself.
Mia decided to be positive about the whole situation. She held her phone tightly and decided to stay calm, really hoping he was going to be at her place by 8 pm.
Mia couldn't help but take glances at the wall clock in the living room almost every minute and before she knew it, it was 8 pm. Colton didn't walk through her door and neither did he call her back or drop her a message.
She couldn't take it anymore so she dialed his number again. It rang but he didn't pick up. She dialed Colton's number four more times and the response was the same. No answer.
By this time, Mia had started to panic. She dialed Hailey's number.
Hailey was surprised when Mia's call came through. She felt Mia was meant to be busy with Colton but she picked up anyway. "Hi Sweets, how is the date goi...." She didn't complete her statement before she was cut off by Mia.
"I haven't seen Colton, Hailey." She said, The worry was evident in her voice.
"You haven't seen him?" Hailey reiterated.
"No, Hail. He was meant to be here at 7 pm. I've been calling his number but he's not picking my calls. This is so unlike Colton. He said he was going to be here on time. Oh, God, what if something bad has happened to him." Mia sniffed, trying to hold back her tears. "I don't know anyone else to contact, that's why I called you."
"Please calm down, babe. Let's be positive. Maybe he had an emergency."
"I can't help being worried, Hailey. No matter how busy or stressed Colton is, he will always answer my call or text messages."
"Okay, do you think we should go to his penthouse and see if he's there?" Hailey suggested. Her mind was blank but she was trying her best to come up with a solution.
"His penthouse is well secured. We won't even get past the security. They only allow you in upon the instruction of those who live in the building. Colt was planning to introduce me to all the securities tomorrow and even give me the passcode to his place."
"I'm not home yet. I'm actually somewhere around Royal Empire. I'll stop by and ask of him."
"I guess I'll undress and come meet you."
"Please hold on for a little more while, Mia. The night is still young, you all could even have your date at 11 pm. Today's Friday."
"I'm losing hope, Hailey. I don't even care about the date. I just hope he's okay."
"He will be fine, Babe. Please calm down. Keep trying his number. I'll drive down to his company now and let you know how it goes."
"Thanks, Hail, I'll be waiting for your call."
Once Mia got off the call with Hailey, She dialed Colton. "Come on, babe, please pick up your calls." She whispered as the phone rang but she didn't get any answer.
Mia sighed. She wished she had someone else's number. Someone close to him. His mom, brother, sister, or best friend!"
Not knowing what else to do, She plopped down on the couch and silently prayed that Colt was okay.

Coming down from her car, Hailey approached the security guards of Royal Empire. Two of them were standing just by the entrance of the building.
"Good evening." She said politely. "I'm here to see Colton Royal."
"Good evening, Ma'am, no one sees the Boss without an appointment. And unfortunately, he's not around." One of the guards said.
"Really, he's not in?"
"No Ma'am. He's always in the office by this time but he left quite early today."
"He left for his home or?" Hailey asked.
The other guard frowned at her.
Hailey sighed. "I'm sorry. You all probably don't know about your Boss's movements. It's just that we've been reaching out to him but he's not picking up. We are afraid that something bad might have happened."
"I'm sure Boss is fine, Ma'am. Sir Derik Royal doesn't joke with the security of his three children. God forbid if something had happened, we would all be aware and it might even be all over the news. If Boss Colt isn't picking up your calls, it's either because he's busy or he doesn't want to answer."
Hailey nodded slowly, trying to process everything that the security man said. It was a relief hearing that there's a high probability that he was okay. But it was hard to believe that he purposely ditched her best friend on a very important night. Whatever was going on, She hoped Colton had a valid explanation.
"Thank you, Goodnight!" Hailey said to the guards who nodded at her greetings, then she went back to her car.
