The moment Mia got settled behind her desk, She buried herself with work and only took a break during lunch.
Remembering, she owed Hailey an apology, she decided to call her.
"I thought you would never call." Hailey's voice came through.
"I'm sorry, babe."
"Sorry for letting you down, sorry for chickening out, and thank you for giving Colton Tessie's address."
"Spill!" Hailey's eager voice came through.
Mia blushed. "Spill what?"
"Oh please, you wouldn't be thanking me for giving Colton Tessie's address if nothing important happened between you two. Did Tessie freak out about him coming to her place?"
"Colton really sounded possessive over the phone. He said he was going to go get his woman. So, did he take you to his home?" Hailey asked, suspiciously.
"Yes, h..." Mia was saying but she was cut off by Hailey.
"Holy fucking shitttt! You spent another night with Colton Joey Royal???!!!"
Mia blushed even harder. "Lower your voice, Hailey."
"I'm working from home today so yeah, I'm the only one at home. Did you both fuck each other's brains out?"
"Hailey!!!" Mia groaned.
"Shut the fuck up, Mia. Don't tell me you spent the whole night with him, on the same bed, and then nothing happened? Like what are you both? stones? gays?"
"It was our first night together, Hailey, what were you expecting?"
"I was expecting foreplay, sex, lovemaking, moans, grunts, more sex, I had expected you to have the time of your life, and most importantly, I was expecting Colton to have planted a Colton junior in you already!"
Mia rolled her eyes.
"Besides, last night wasn't you guy's first night together so I don't know why you all were behaving like first-timers."
"Hailey, can you just calm down and maybe try to respect our privacy?"
"Fine, I'm sorry. I'm just really hyped about you both. I wasn't expecting Colton to reach out to me yesterday but he did and he was very polite. And he deeply cares for you. But really, what went down last night?" Hailey asked, ready to hear all the juicy details.
"Tessie and I finished tucking the kids, then a knock came through. Tessie answered and it turned out to be Colt. They had exchanged greetings by the time I got to the door. He approached me and told me how worried he was, he was disappointed that I didn't let him know about what Natasha did. Instead, I pushed him away. I apologized. We made up and then he offered that I spend the night at his place. Tessie was so pumped. She agreed before I could even answer."
"I owe Tessie 100 bucks for that. I'm glad she and Colt are cool."
"Yeah, I'm glad he's cool with everyone related to me.
"We didn't go to his place directly. He took me to his parents' place; the backyard where he gave me a gift; a necklace that his grandmother requested should be given to the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with. He chose to give me the necklace in the backyard because that was his Grandmother's favorite place in the mansion."
"Awwwwwwww" Hailey cooed.
"We had dinner, then headed to his penthouse where we spent the night."
"You're so damn lucky, Mia," Hailey said dreamily.
"Indeed. He treats me like a Queen, he respects me and that makes me wonder what I did to deserve someone like him."
"I can't help but think everything is too good to be true. I'm afraid that something will happen and all of these will come to an end and I'll be back to being shattered and heartbroken. Just like always."
"No. No. No. That's never going to happen, Mia. And please, stop thinking you don't deserve someone like Colton because you fucking deserve him. Bitch, he chose you out of all the women in this world and I want you to be proud of that, okay?"
"Noted. Thanks, Babe. I'm glad you gave him Tessie's address. Who knows, things might have ended between us if you hadn't done that."
"I don't think so, boo. You should thank Colt. He is the one who has been fighting for you. He was the one who requested the address. He's so into you, babe. You deserve him, you deserve all the love he's showering on you, and most importantly, you deserve all the happiness that's coming your way. So just relax and enjoy all of it."
"I will. Thank you!" Mia whispered.
"You're welcome, sweets. So you're still not going to tell me what you and Colton did last night?"
"Hailey!!!" Mia groaned.
"You want me to call Colt and ask him myself."
"Don't you dare!" Mia warned. She knew Hailey was capable of doing just that.
Hailey chuckled. "It's okay if you don't want to say anything. I trust Colton so I will not bother you. Just please don't hold back. Enjoy with Colton. He's your man!"
Mia nodded.
"So what's the plan for Saturday?"
"Saturday?" Mia reiterated.
"Your birthday?"
"You know there's no difference between my birthday and every other day. I'm moving in with Colton so I'll probably be busy packing and all of that."
"You're no fun!" Hailey mumbled.
"I know that Boo. How's Enoch?"
The two best friends talked for a few more minutes before they ended the conversation.

Mia was about to put her phone on the table when it beeped. It was a text message from an unknown number.
"You think you're smart by reporting me to Colt? You must be delusional if you think I'll back out. I'll not lose Colton to anyone. Most especially you, a gold digger. Colt is just using you and trust me, he will SOON get tired of you."
"You know what I miss about him? Our sexual pleasure. We were both beasts in bed and he knew it. He loved how much I pleasured him. No woman has been able to replace me which was why his relationship with Tina didn't last."
