Before calling Mia, she decided to call Colton, to see if she will get lucky. She waited patiently as his number rang but she got no response.
Hailey sighed, then dialed Mia who picked up immediately.
"Any luck?" Her worried voice came through.
"No Babe. The guards said he's not in the office. They were almost sure that he's fine because it would be all over the news if something had happened. I was told he's either ignoring the call on purpose or he's busy."
"Before you come to silly conclusions that he's purposely ignoring you, I called him before calling you but got no answer. He's probably busy but I'm sure he will have a reasonable explanation and definitely, he's going to make it up to you." Hailey said. She was really sad about what was happening knowing how much Mia looked forward to this night.
"Or should we go to his penthouse? We might be able to bribe the securities." Hailey suggested.
"Those dudes earn more than my monthly earnings, Hailey. I'm certain they are immune to bribes. They will definitely not risk their jobs for both of us. Thanks for going over there for me. I'll go undress and get ready for bed. The whole thing with Colton was too good to be true anyway!"
"Mia!" Hailey called. "Please don't think like that."
"I'm not thinking of anything. I just want to go to bed."
"Babe, you trust Colton, don't you?"
"I don't know! All I know right now is that I feel so stupid." From her voice, Hailey could tell that Mia was trying so hard to hold back her tears.
"You have no reason to feel stupid, sweets. Maybe he had an emergency."
"Agreed that he had an emergency, but a text notifying me about it wouldn't hurt, right? He probably doesn't like me as much as he claims to."
"Mia, please don't think that way!" Her heart went out to her best friend. "Did you by any chance offend him?"
"Of course not, Hailey. He still called me after lunch, reminding me to be ready on time. He's probably done with me!"
Hailey sighed. "I'm coming over to your place."
"I appreciate your concern, Hailey. But please, don't. I just want to be alone."
"So you can cry your eyes out? No way!"
"It doesn't matter if I plan to cry my eyes out or not. I just need to be alone."
"Why are you pushing me away, Mia? How do you expect me to get some sleep tonight knowing my best friend is unhappy?"
"I'm not pushing you away, Hailey. I know you love me so much and you care about me but please try to be understanding. You can always come check on me tomorrow or whenever you feel like but not tonight. Please." She sniffed.
Hailey sighed. She really had high hopes about tonight for her best friend. Tomorrow was Mia's birthday and no doubt that it was already a sad day for Mia. Hailey had honestly expected Colton to plan a surprise for Mia or something.
"Okay! I'll keep on trying Colton from my end. But please babe, don't be too hard on yourself. You and I know that Colt is way more responsible than all of this. There must be a valid reason."
"I'll try! Goodnight Hailey, and thank you!"
"Goodnight sweets," Hailey whispered.

Mia took note of the time on her phone and saw that it was just a couple of minutes past 8:30 pm. She had planned to go undress but she decided to wait some more, really hoping that Colton was going to come through.
She took her seat on the couch, called Colt's number, taking breaks in between by absentmindedly replying to her pending messages. She did that for over an hour. Colton didn't walk in through her door even though she had unlocked it so he would have easy access if he showed up and neither did he answer her calls. At this point, Mia was sure she had called him 50 times already.
She totally gave up once it was 10 pm on the dot. She rose to her feet, went over to lock her door, ensured her windows were well secured for the night, turned off the lights, then retired to her room, careful not to bump into the boxes which had her things in them.
Apparently, she was to move in with Colt tomorrow and was halfway through packing but she was sure as hell that she wasn't going anywhere anymore.
Mia undressed, took off her jewelry, wiped off the little makeup she applied earlier on, and then changed into her nightwear.
She went over to her nightstand area, poured herself a glass of water from her not-so-fancy Jug, and slowly gulped down half of it.
With a very heavy heart, Mia crawled into her bed, properly covered herself with the duvet, and stared at the ceiling with random thoughts flowing in her mind. She was surprised by her little strength. The Mia she knew would have burst into controllable tears by now. She honestly felt like crying but a small part of her chose to be a bit positive about the whole thing.
Mia was cut off from her thoughts when her phone buzzed beside her. She absentmindedly reached for it. She sat up immediately she saw that it was a video call from Colton. She turned on her bedside lamp.
Mia had no idea why but her eyes got teary as soon as she saw the caller ID. Perhaps it was because this was proof that Colton was safe.
Taking two deep sighs, Mia swiped the answer button. Of course, she was expecting Colton's face to come into view but her heart sank when it was another person's face she saw. Out of everyone in the world, it had to be Natasha McGregor?
"What the hell are you doing with my man's phone?" She said in anger, avoiding showing any form of weakness even though her heart was literally breaking into pieces. Natty's skin looked flushed, and her hair was a bit all over the place.
"Good evening to you too, Mia." Natty smiled.
"Where the hell is Colton and what the fuck are you doing with his phone?" She demanded.
"Heyyy, lower your voice, Bitch. You're going to wake my baby." Natasha said.
"You thought I was joking when I told you that you got nothing on me and that Colton was only using you?"
"Shut the fuck up and tell me where he is!" She said at the top of her voice.
"He's here, with me," she smirked. "We are in his penthouse." Natasha turned the camera and showed her the surroundings. It was true indeed. She was in Colton's room.
Mia's eyes got very heavy with tears. She knew any minute from now, they would come rolling down her cheeks.
Turning the camera back to herself, Natasha spoke, "Girl, why are you so obsessed? You kept on calling repeatedly, disturbing our fun."
"Yeah, you guessed it right. Colton and I were having the time of our lives just like old times. You thought I was being a big bully when I made it known to you that you're unfit to satisfy a man like him? Girl, you're nowhere up to the task. I told you I only need one night to remind Colton that he was mine and he will always be mine. So I'm glad to tell you that tonight's the night." She smirked when she saw tears rolling down Mia's cheeks. Yeah, that was what she wanted.
"Come see, my baby" Natasha said, walking over to where Colton was with the Camera slightly showing her naked body and their clothes that were scattered all over the floor.
More tears rolled down Mia's cheeks when she saw Colton on the bed, completely NAKED. He was fast asleep.
Natasha switched back to the front camera as she cuddled against Colton, showering kisses all over his face. "Look how cute he is? He's tired from all of our different sex positions. Oh my, he looks so peaceful and fucking satisfied." She placed a long kiss on Colton's lips.
"You had no idea how much I missed his cock. She stroked it so that Mia could see. "Fuck!!!! See the way it's responding to my touch? We've done four rounds already. Looks like I'm going to ride him once more when I end this call." By this time, Mia was crying uncontrollably.

"Your loose Girl!!! Move on and stay the fuck away from my man."
"I should probably ride him in your presence so you will see how serious I am" Natasha smiled, getting ready to climb on top of Colton.
Mia ended the facetime, switched off her phone, and burst into tears. Words couldn't describe how much she cried. She cried and cried until her eyes started aching, She cried until she had no more tears to shed.
