"Expecting someone?" Mia asked, bringing the mug of coffee to her lips.
"No." He replied.
"Excuse me." He rose to his feet and went to answer the door.
Opening the door, he came face to face with the one and only Ashley Royal.
"Surprise!" She hugged the hell out of him.
Even though he was confused as to what his younger sister was doing at his place at this early hour, Colton still returned her hug.
"It's a surprise indeed," Colt mumbled as they pulled away from the hug.
Ashley grinned. "Actually, I have a flight to catch in about" she looked down at her wristwatch. "Thirty minutes. I just wanted to say Hi to you before I leave."
Colton didn't look convinced by her explanation. "Are you sure you are telling the truth?" He frowned. He loved his sister and his sister loved him too but the highest Ashley would do in this type of situation was to inform Colton over the phone that she was traveling. Ashley wasn't even an early morning person and she was used to almost missing her flights.
She sighed. "Fine! You caught me. I'm not lying about having a flight to catch. I'm heading to France."
"Actually, I sighted you and Mia last night in the backyard. I figured out she would be spending the night with you so I'm here to say HI to her and of course, to you."
Colton smiled, shaking his head in disbelief. "She's in the dining room"
"I love you!" She blew Colt a kiss, then went in search of Mia.
Mia was on her feet, about clearing the table, when she saw someone familiar walk up to her.
"Good morning." the person smiled. "I'm Ashley, Colton's younger sister. It's so nice to finally meet you."
"It's nice to meet you, too." Mia smiled.
Without any warning, Ashley hugged her. Mia chuckled, returning the hug.
Colton playfully rolled his eyes at them where he stood.
"Thank you," Ashley whispered.
"For?" Mia said, pulling away from the hug.
Ashley shrugged. "For being with my brother. Caleb and I were almost afraid that he was going to end up alone or turn gay."
Colton scoffed. His younger siblings were so weird.
Mia chuckled.
"I know how much of a handful Colton can be so Thank you for loving him. And most importantly, thank you for making me an aunt."
Mia tried not to get uncomfortable by Ashley's last sentence. "He loves me too so I think you should thank him for that too." She smiled.
"My brother is really amazing. He's going to take great care of you and my niece or nephew. You're one hell of a lucky woman, Mia. Welcome to the Royal family. I cannot wait for us to have some girls' time and also go on vacations together."
"I'm blessed to have your brother in my life." She smiled, taking a glance at Colton. "And I can't wait to hang out with you, too."
Ashley nodded. "Definitely looking forward to it. I should get going. I have a history of missing my flights but I need to be in France as soon as I can. Take care, Mia. You're very beautiful by the way. I like you already." She hugged Mia once more.
"Thanks and you're very pretty too. Take care of yourself and have fun on your trip."
"I will, thanks." Ashley smiled, then walked up to her brother who was just a couple of steps away. She started a conversation with him in a foreign language. Mia guessed it to be Greek since their Grandparents are from there.
This was the first time she was hearing Colton speak a foreign language and she couldn't help but think that he sounded sexy while speaking it.
Both siblings had smiles on their faces when conversing so Mia wasn't worried about anything. Then they hugged.
"Bye Mia." Ashley smiled, waving at Mia.
Mia waved back. "Have a safe flight."
Then she took her leave.

Colton approached Mia. He cornered her by the dining table. "I've never heard a foreign language sound so sexy. You're making me want to learn how to speak Greek." She smiled.
"Really?" Colton grinned. "I think I'll stop speaking English then"
Mia rolled her eyes. "How many languages can you speak?"
"Just three. English, Greek, and French. But Ashley speaks a lot of languages. I wonder how she manages to stay sane because they can be confusing."
"She must be really smart," Mia admitted.
"Oh yes! People do say I'm the favorite child but I think Ashley is the favorite one. She gets away with a lot of things. Things Caleb and I never got away with, She used to be a brat but thankfully, she's all grown up. She's very smart which makes my parents even more proud of her and they never say NO to her. She's the only girl child so she has my parents wrapped around her fingers. Most especially my Dad."
Mia nodded.
"Seems you're already familiar with every member of my family. The last time Ashley set her foot in this penthouse was over a year ago. But she came here to see you."
Mia smiled. "You told her I was here?"
"No. Apparently, She saw us last night and figured out you would be at my place. So she stopped by on her way to the airport."
"She's so sweet," Mia said.
"Yes and she adores you." Colt smiled "That was what she was telling me over there. She had always wanted a big sister so she's very happy to have you. She's hoping you and her will get along and she also promised to kick me in the ass if I fail to take care of you and her baby niece or nephew."
"I'm flattered. I hope she doesn't get heartbroken once she learns there's no baby."
"Apparently, she took the news too seriously. She was cool with it and was the only one that sent me a congratulatory text. But don't worry, everything will be fine. She will eventually get a nephew or niece."
"I can't wait for you to move in. I'm going to miss you." He caressed her cheek. No doubt they both enjoyed being together.
She smiled, "the weekend is almost here!"
"I know but it seems far to me. By the way, you haven't given me an answer with regards to our date on Friday."
"Well, you bought the clothes already. So I guess I'll just wear them and put on some makeup."
"Good. Thank you for saying yes! I'll be at your place by 7 to pick you up."

Mia knew she was going to get to work late but it didn't bother her much. She had always been punctual all her life and didn't think her boss was going to fire her this one time. Besides, she already had an excuse to give in mind.
Colton drove Mia to work. it was an interesting ride, they made conversations all through till they arrived at Mia's workplace.
She unbuckled her seatbelt, then initiated a passionate kiss with Colton. "I don't remember when last I was this happy. I had fun being with you and I cannot wait to move in."
Colton tucked some stray strands of hair behind her ear, then he caressed her cheek. He made her put her hair down today. "It's been a while I've been this happy too. So thanks to you too. I hope this weekend can come sooner."
"Have fun at work. I'll definitely give you a call before the end of the day!" He leaned closer to her and placed a long kiss on her forehead.
Mia said her final goodbye, reached for her handbag, then got out of the car.
Colton waited for Mia to enter the office building before he left. "Time to put Natasha in her place!"
