Tabitha's POV
Phoebe was still trying to defend herself, but her voice was so weak in the face of solid evidence.
She could only tell Ambrose over and over again how much she loved him.
Ambrose held her hand, a hint of disgust appearing in his eyes for the first time. "Stop talking. Let's just go."
No matter what kind of person Phoebe really was, what she did today was against everything Ambrose thought she was and also embarrassed him.
From what I had learned about Ambrose during this time, he cared a lot about his reputation.
So, right now, he probably just wanted to leave as soon as possible.
Phoebe didn't want to leave at all, yet she had to obey Ambrose's words.
I looked at them coldly. Phoebe had already gained a lot of money from Ambrose over the years, but she still wouldn't wanna leave him. After all, he was Alpha Elliott's son.
"Alright. Whatever you say, Ambrose. Let's go, Zander," Phoebe said.
Derek crossed his arms and coldly looked at her. "I didn't say Zander could leave."
Phoebe glared at him and said, "How long do you want him to kneel here?"
"Till I think it's enough. Think about what he has done. He deserves more than this. Truman, show them out."
Phoebe screamed, her voice shrill, "Derek, let Zander go! Or I'll call the cops and have you arrested!"
"Sure. Go ahead. I'd love for the police to find out what he did. Was it attempted murder or arson?"
Phoebe had no idea what Zander had done. Yet she saw the change in Alpha Elliott's attitude clearly.
She pursed her lips tightly, knowing that Zander must have done something to Derek, and now, Derek had the goods on him.
Her fingers clutching the phone trembled slightly, as she was unsure of what to do.
After a few seconds, she glared at Derek and cursed, "You heartless, ungrateful jerk! You're gonna get what you deserve!"
In the next second, Andrea grabbed Phoebe by the collar and slapped her hard twice.
Ambrose stood by and watched. He didn't know what was going on with him. He could have stopped Andrea, yet now, he felt like his body was frozen, and he couldn't move no matter what.
"Ambrose, are you dead? Can't you see what she did? Are you really gonna just stand there and watch?" Phoebe angrily shouted.
Ambrose looked at Phoebe in surprise.
She had always been so gentle and considerate when she was around him, and he felt that this fierce-looking woman was like a completely different person.
Phoebe realized that she had lost her cool. "Ambrose, I didn't mean it. It's just... I was in so much pain, so..."
I covered my lower abdomen while enjoying the farce. I had no intention of getting involved in the Greenwood family's affairs. The only thing that mattered to me was that Derek was safe and sound.
As I stood up and was about to go upstairs to rest, Orson quickly came over to support me. "Are you OK?"
Actually, I didn't have much impression of him. But hearing his concern about me, I still felt very grateful.
I didn't feel well, and I looked like crap. Perhaps that caught his attention.
I weakly said, "I... I'm fine."
I wanted to go to the hospital, but it wasn't the right time considering the farce. Maybe I should just put up with it.
"You don't look fine. You didn't have surgery?" Orson didn't know about my amnesia.
"Surgery?" I looked puzzled. Then I remembered that Orson had mentioned earlier that he was my attending physician. Yes! He must know what was wrong with me.
Just as I was about to ask him, in the noisy hall, a female voice sounded. "Derek, you really don't want me anymore?"
I looked in the direction of the sound and saw a woman in a wheelchair at the door.
She looked familiar to me. Upon careful recollection, I realized it was the woman at the airport the day we left Seattle.
That day, she kept shouting in our direction, and I asked Derek if he knew her.
Derek denied it without hesitation. Why was she here?
