A commotion erupted outside the council room, just as the weight of the silence threatened to consume him. Hurried footsteps and urgent voices pierced the air, becoming louder with each passing second. Cayden's heartbeat quickened as his instincts warned him of an impending storm.
The doors swung open before he could comprehend the situation, and Alpha Hawk burst into the room with a wild look in his eyes. The tension in the room grew, and every eye turned to see the unexpected spectacle. Hawk lunged at Cayden without hesitation, his feral growl echoing throughout the room.
"Hawk!" Cayden exclaimed, his voice surprised and concerned. "What's the matter with you?"
The attack's sheer force threw them onto a nearby table, scattering papers and shattering fragile trinkets. The council members gasped in surprise, instinctively putting a safe distance between themselves and the chaotic scene unfolding in front of them.
Hawk pinned Cayden to the ground, his grip on Cayden's collar tightening. "You dare to deny it?" he snarled; his voice was accusatory. "You kidnapped Selena while she was on her way to this council meeting!"
The accusation hung in the air, threatening to suffocate Cayden with its weight. He fought Hawk's grip, his mind racing to make sense of the situation.
Cayden's gaze bore into Hawk's eyes, searching for any sign of reason or understanding.
"What did you do to her?" Cayden growled. Hawk's grip loosened slightly, but his expression remained hostile. "You know damn well what I did," he spat. "And you're going to pay for it."
Cayden's heart sank as he realised the severity of the situation. Hawk was again doing some drama.
Hawk's grip on Cayden's collar tightened, and his face contorted with anger and grief. "Don't play innocent. You had the motive and the means to carry out this despicable act! You knew she was going to testify against you!"
Cayden's mind raced, frantically piecing together the fragments of this bewildering puzzle. During the chaos, the council members exchanged worried glances, their expressions a blend of confusion and concern. They found themselves caught in the middle of an escalating conflict between two prominent alphas.
"Not just Selena, he also kidnapped my mate," David shouted amidst the chaos.

Rose's eyes met Cayden's, filled with unwavering determination.
"I don't know; all I know is that I am here because of Selena; she convinced them to release me."

"What? You can't leave, can you? I know it's all about your plan. Can you? "I know it's all your plan!" Hawk shouted again, trying to lunge at Cayden. By now, all the Alphas and the council members had assembled. Some were on Cayden's side, some on Hawk's.
Cayden, we have to go through the trial,” James said to him.
The Alphas of the Black Shadow pack and the Blood River pack were Cayden's strongest allies.
Cayden turned to James and nodded. "I understand, but we don't have time for a trial. We need to act fast before it's too late."
"Cayden, I am sure Hawk is pulling up one of his tricks again. We need to make sure we have all the facts before we decide," Mark interjected.
"No! Selena is in danger; I must look for her." Cayden insisted.
"Cayden, I understand your urgency, but we cannot decide without considering all the consequences," James said firmly. "We need to gather more information and come up with a plan before we act."
"You dare defy my decision?" Cayden's voice rose, his frustration palpable.
"Selena is my mate, and I won't sit back and do anything while she's in danger."
James sighed, understanding Cayden's emotions but also the importance of a well-planned approach. "I'm not defying your decision, Cayden. I'm just suggesting we take a step back and approach this strategically so that we can ensure Selena's safety without putting ourselves in harm's way. Do you even have a plan? How are you even going to look for her?"
"I will Grill Hawk until he spills it out." Cayden's determination was palpable as he spoke, his eyes flashing with intensity. "I won't stop until I find Selena, and if that means killing Hawk, then so be it."
"Cayden, that would turn the council against you." Councilman Ruben's voice ended the brief argument.
"I doubt they would be on my side, anyway." Cayden said ruefully.
"Some of us are." Thalia walked in, following Ruben.
"Madam Thalia," James, Mark, Jack, and Dean bowed towards her.
Thalia continued, "We must find Selena without using force. "I don't want to start a war, so it's crucial that this trial proceed. Cayden, you need to maintain self-control."
Cayden nodded. "I understand, but we can't just sit back and do nothing while Selena is in danger." Thalia placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder and said, "We won't. Don't you want Hawk and the circle to get punished?"
Cayden gave her an astonished glance. "You believe me?"
Thalia smiled softly and said, "Of course I do. I have always had my doubts about Hawk and several others, but I didn't have any proof. No one was ready to come out and testify against them. But now that we have evidence, we can take action. We just need to make sure we do it and that it doesn't put Selena or ourselves in any more danger," Thalia added.
"Why do you want to help me?" Cayden inquired, but he was still wary. He didn't have much faith in the council members.
"I am just trying to make some amends. Nothing that happened to you was your fault," she assured him.
"You aren't going to be alone in this. We will make sure you two have all the help you need, and you will have powerful allies around you. All the Packs in this region want Hawk gone."
"It's only fair that Hawk's trial and sentencing go on. It will also uncover who is involved with the council."
"How will that help?" Mark asked.
"I think whoever kidnapped Selena wants to get rid of Hawk." Thalia's words resulted in gasps of surprise.
"So that means he is on our side, right? He won't harm Selena?" James asked.
"No," Thalia said with a serious face. "He may have his own agenda and motives for wanting to disrupt the trial." Thalia added.
