Alpha's Caged Love

Chaos

Ch. 118 / 159 May 05, 2026

Selena could sense that there was something wrong with her dad's mood. Alpha Hawk was now screaming and shouting at everyone as they hurriedly prepared to leave for the council meeting. The air was thick with tension, and Selena's instincts told her that something significant had happened.

As the chaos unfolded around her, Selena found herself under strict watch by the pack guards. However, there was one surprise that caught Selena off guard: her half-brother David and his mate were accompanying them.

Confusion swept over Selena as she watched David's arrival. She hadn't seen him much, and their relationship had always been strained. The unexpected sight only added to the enigma surrounding the council meeting.

Rose grumbled about the lack of velvet cushions in the car and how the champagne wasn't aged enough before settling down next to Selena. She gave her a curt nod but didn't say anything.

His gaze hardened as he looked at Selena. "If you don't testify against Cayden, you know what will happen, right?" His words hung in the air, heavy with a warning that chilled her to the bone.

Selena nodded.

As the cars departed from the pack grounds, Selena couldn't help but feel a sense of foreboding. Only occasional whispered conversations between her father and his group broke the eerie silence on the way to the council meeting. Her half-brother David seemed unusually quiet; his gaze fixed on the passing landscape.

An air of anticipation hung heavy in the air as the entourage of sleek black cars sped through the moonlit night towards the grand council meeting. Selena's heart pounded in her chest, her mind still reeling from her father's foreboding warning. She did not know that the impending danger would seize her and render her father and his guards helpless.

The motorcade rumbled along a desolate stretch of road, only the low hum of the engines breaking the eerie silence. Dark Suvs appeared suddenly and unexpectedly around them, as swift and ominous as phantoms in the night. The vehicles surrounded them, effectively cutting off any means of escape.

Selena's throat tightened as she watched the masked figures emerge from the SUVs. Werewolves encircled their entourage. Selena looked at the masked men curiously. Her fists tightened as she watched the masked figures emerge from the SUVs. Werewolves encircled their entourage. Selena looked at the masked men curiously. Was it Cayden? Did he come to rescue her? But as the werewolves drew closer, she realised they were not Cayden's men. Their eyes glowed a bright yellow, and their teeth were razor sharp. Selena knew they were in grave danger and that Cayden was nowhere to be found.

Panic swept through the car, but Hawk remained calm. He barked orders at his guards, but it was pointless. The attackers were persistent and outnumbered them.

Selena looked at Rose; she looked terrified.

"It's alright," Selena said, holding Rose's hand.

Their eyes reflected their mutual realisation that their lives were hanging by a thread.

Within seconds, chaos erupted. The masked werewolves charged at the guards, engaging them in fierce combat. Selena's heart pounded with a mix of terror and helplessness as she watched the battle unfold.

Hawk roared in rage, his attempts to save them thwarted by the overwhelming number of their assailants.

Selena and Rose were captured in the enemy's clutches amid the clash of snarls and fangs. Their struggle against the iron grip was futile. The world seemed to blur as they were dragged away, torn from the safety of their cars, and thrust into the clutches of an unknown adversary.

Selena's mind raced as she fought her captors, desperately looking for a glimmer of hope. Fear and determination mingled within her, igniting a fire that burned bright even in the face of darkness. The werewolves escorted Selena and Rose into one of the waiting SUVs, their masks concealing their identities. The cars sped off.

"Let me go!" Rose was shouting at her captor.

"Hey! You want me, right? Just leave her." Selena shouted at them.

The men looked puzzled for a while.

Boss, what do we do? There are two of them?" One guard grumbled in a bored tone.

"Which of you is Cayden's whore?" Another bored voice inquired. "We're just supposed to bring her. We don't require the other."

Selena felt her fear escalate at the words. She was being held so tightly that she couldn't get a good look at any of the men, but she could catch a glimpse of Rose's frozen form just off to her left.

"I am!" Selena shouted.

"Fine. Take her," the first bored man said. "Kill the other one."

A whimper escaped Rose's lips as she tried to twist out of the painful grasp holding her still.

"No, you can't!" Selena screamed, struggling furiously in the vampire's grasp, her heart pounding wildly. She had to break free to assist Rose.

"Cayden!" she screamed mentally, even though she knew they were too far away for him to hear her. Shifting to wolf form wouldn't help, because the pack was too far away.

"Let her go; she is David's mate. Hawk's daughter-in-law. Do you want to die?" Selena asked.

They sniggered.

"Does it look like we are afraid of Hawk? His days are numbered anyway. He has ruffled too many feathers."

Well, I am not fond of my dad either," Selena tiredly reasoned. "Who are you?"

The men looked at each other before one of them spoke up. "We were paid to get you; we don't care about pack politics."

Selena's heart sank as she realised she was just a pawn in someone else's game.

"But if you keep Rose, David will follow her. As she is his mate." Selena's mind raced as she tried to come up with a plan. She knew she had to protect Rose at all costs.

"Just let the other bitch go! We don't want any more trouble." One man said.

The door creaked open, and Rose was ushered out, her body trembling with fear.

The vehicle's doors slammed shut, enveloping Selena in a suffocating darkness. The engine roared to life, propelling them away from the chaos and leaving behind a trail of uncertainty.

Inside the SUV, Selena's senses were heightened, her every nerve on edge. The smell of damp leather mixed with an unfamiliar musk, a scent that hinted at the presence of their captors. Her mind raced, piecing together fragments of information and searching for any clue that could unravel this enigma.

The vehicle sped through winding roads, the moon's silvery glow casting eerie shadows on the forest outside. Selena strained to catch any sound or hint of the captors' intentions. But all she could hear was the muffled conversation between her abductors, their voices masked by the barrier that separated them.

As minutes stretched into an agonising eternity, the SUV finally came to a halt. The sudden absence of movement jolted Selena's heart, her anticipation intertwining with a surge of adrenaline. The doors creaked open, revealing a secluded clearing bathed in moonlight. Selena and Rose were ushered out, their bodies trembling with a mixture of fear and defiance.

Before them stood a figure cloaked in darkness, its features concealed by a swirling mist. A voice, cold and commanding, pierced the silence.

Selena's eyes narrowed, her fiery determination burning brighter than ever. "Who are you? What do you want from us?" she demanded; her voice laced with defiance.

The figure chuckled, a chilling sound that echoed through the night. "All in due time, my dear."

Confusion gnawed at Selena's mind.

With a flick of their hand, the figure motioned for Selena to follow.

"What do you want from me?" She asked.

"Nothing much; I just want chaos."

Selena's heart raced as she tried to process the figure's words. What did he mean by chaos?

"What do you mean?" She said, almost running up to him. She could not see his face. The figure turned to face her, revealing a sinister grin. "I mean, I want to watch the world burn," he said, his eyes glinting with madness. Selena took a step back, feeling a chill run down her spine.

"Your father, Hawk, worked for me." The man said, hurrying. Selena's eyes widened in shock.

"What did he do for you?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly. The man chuckled darkly. "Let's just say he was very good at causing chaos."

"He's gotten too far ahead of himself now."

"So, you kidnapped me to destroy my dad?" Selena asked.

The man's grin widened. "Oh no, my dear. I kidnapped you because I want to destroy the council, the ring, your dad, and Cayden."
