Alpha's Caged Love

The clock is ticking

Ch. 115 / 159 May 05, 2026

The Alpha's office reverberated with the thunderous rage of Alpha Hawk. His deep voice boomed through the chamber, shaking the very foundations of the ancient stronghold. The atmosphere was thick with tension as his pack members stood before him, their heads bowed in deference and apprehension.

"How could Cayden dare to attack my club and steal Jennifer away?" Hawk's voice echoed, his words dripping with venomous anger.

His eyes blazed with a mixture of fury and fear, for he knew Cayden held the power to expose the dark deeds that shrouded his past.

Oscar stood before Hawk, trembling under the weight of his leader's wrath. He tried to speak, to defend himself against Hawk's accusations, but the words caught in his throat. Fear gripped him, knowing the magnitude of Hawk's rage.

"Alpha Hawk, I apologise for my carelessness. I never expected such audacity from Cayden and his pack."

But Hawk's fury knew no bounds. His eyes narrowed, and his voice grew even more menacing. "You dare to stand before me and make excuses? You, who owe your very life to me? I plucked you from the shadows and granted you a place by my side. Do not forget your place, Oscar!"

Oscar's fear gave way to a flicker of defiance. "I owe you nothing, Hawk! It was you who turned me into a monster, into a pawn in your twisted game. I betrayed my alpha to be by your side and to serve you. It is you who owe me a favour, not the other way around!"

As the words left Oscar's lips, a collective gasp rippled through the room. Hawk's eyes widened, his anger escalating to a whole new level. Betrayal burned in his chest like a consuming fire.

"How dare you!" Hawk roared, his voice reverberating through the hall. In an instant, his body convulsed, and he transformed into his terrifying werewolf form. His eyes glowed with a malevolent light, and his fangs were bared and dripping with venom.

Oscar stumbled backwards, realisation dawning upon him. Fear replaced his defiance, for he knew he had crossed a line from which there was no return.

With a surge of speed and power, Hawk lunged at Oscar, claws extended and fangs bared. The air filled with the sound of a vicious struggle as the two werewolves clashed, their bodies a blur of fur and teeth. The savage display that was taking place before them paralysed the other pack members as they watched in horror.

In a swift and brutal motion, Hawk's claws found their mark, tearing through Oscar's flesh. A cry of pain echoed through the chamber, but it was quickly silenced as Hawk's jaws clamped down on Oscar's throat, severing his life with a final, brutal bite.

Silence enveloped the room as Hawk stood over the lifeless body. The scent of blood mingled with the heavy atmosphere, a reminder of the cost of betrayal.

Hawk transformed back into his human form. As the pack members stood in stunned silence.

Hawk's gaze swept over his pack, his expression a mix of defiance and warning. "This is the consequence of betrayal," he declared, his voice low and filled with an undercurrent of menace. "Let this be a lesson for all who dare to defy me."

The pack members nodded, their faces etched with a mixture of fear and resignation.

His beta, Marcus, a figure known for his calm and calculated demeanour, stepped forwards. Marcus had served as Hawk's loyal advisor for years, his wisdom and cunning a counterbalance to Hawk's volatile nature.

"Alpha Hawk," Marcus interjected, his voice firm but composed. "We remember that the Council meeting awaits us. We must leave."

Hawk's anger flickered momentarily, his gaze meeting Marcus's unwavering eyes.

"You're right, Marcus. Get that bitch! And no one should know about what happened at the club. Just call it a minor rogue attack."

As his pack members scurried to carry out his orders, Hawk turned to Marcus, a glint of malevolence flickering in his eyes.

"Cayden must not be allowed to expose my secret to the Council. He possesses knowledge that could unravel everything I've built. We must be vigilant and ensure our secrets remain buried."

Marcus nodded solemnly, his loyalty to Hawk unwavering.

"But, Alpha, what if Cayden exposes your secret to Jennifer to the council today?"

Marcus asked.

"He wouldn't dare!" Hawk seethed in anger. "Get me my phone!"

********************

Cayden's phone rang, interrupting the heavy silence that engulfed the room. He reached for the device, his senses on high alert. As he glanced at the screen, his suspicions were confirmed—it was Alpha Hawk.

Taking a deep breath, Cayden answered the call, bracing himself for the storm of threats and malice that awaited him. "Hawk," he said with controlled defiance, his voice laced with determination. "To what do I owe the displeasure of your call?"

A malevolent chuckle echoed through the line, sending a familiar chill down Cayden's spine.

"Ah, Cayden, always so direct. I admire your audacity," Hawk sneered. "But let's cut to the chase. I know what you're planning; you took something precious from me."

Cayden remained composed, refusing to let Hawk's words unnerve him.

"You also took something valuable from me." He said, his voice low and steady. "But I'm not here to negotiate or make deals. I'm here to take you down and put an end to your activities once and for all."

Hawk laughed.

"Selena is my daughter, Cayden. She came to me at her own will. You, however...." He stopped talking.

"Me? What Hawk? What did I take from you? Your mate perhaps?" Cayden mocked Hawk.

Cayden took great pleasure in being able to sense Hawk's rage and helplessness.

Hawk's voice grew colder, his words dripping with venom. "If you dare to utter a word about Jennifer, if you attempt to tell anything to the council, it will be Selena who pays the price."

Cayden's heart clenched with a mix of anger and fear. He knew Hawk was capable of anything and that his thirst for power and control knew no bounds. But Cayden would not be swayed by fear.

"You underestimate me, Hawk," Cayden retorted, his voice filled with steely resolve. "I will not let you continue to harm innocent lives and to use Selena as a pawn in your twisted game. The truth will be known and you will be hunted like a dog."

At the other end of the line, there was a brief pause, the silence pregnant with foreboding. Hawk's voice came back colder than ever. "Cayden, think carefully. The consequences of your actions go far beyond your comprehension. Selena's life is hanging by a thread, and I can end it with a single word."

Cayden's grip on the phone tightened, his knuckles turning white. His thoughts raced, looking for a solution—a way to protect Selena from Hawk's malice. To outwit the cunning Alpha and save the woman he loved, he had to be strategic.

"I'm not going to let you use Selena as leverage," Cayden stated emphatically. "I'll find a way to expose your darkness, bring you to justice, and protect Selena. You will be held accountable for your crimes."

Hawk's laughter filled the line, a hollow sound that made Cayden shiver. "Cayden, we'll see. We'll have to wait and see. But keep in mind that the clock is ticking. Selena's life hangs in the balance with every move you make and every breath you take. Make an informed decision."

The call ended with those final words, leaving Cayden alone in the weighty silence of his thoughts. As he clutched the phone, determination burned in his eyes, and his mind raced with plans and strategies. He'd figure out a way to reveal Hawk's true nature.

"What did he say?" Max, who had been casually lounging in Alpha's office, asked.

"Just as I expected, he threatened me. But he won't do anything."

"So now what?" Max asked eagerly.

"Now, you must get to your mate and turn her." Cayden said while pouring a glass of scotch.

Max's eyes widened in surprise. "Turn her? You mean into a werewolf?" he asked, his voice laced with disbelief. Cayden nodded, taking a sip of his drink. "Yes, it's the only way to ensure her safety and keep her away from any harm."

Max looked hesitant, but Cayden placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry, I grant you my permission. We must leave in a few hours. Don't waste it with me. Go to your mate."

Max nodded, grateful for Cayden's understanding. He quickly got up and set off to find his mate, determined to keep her safe and protected at all costs. As he walked, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation.
