Max's heart raced as he navigated through the dense forest, his senses heightened by the anticipation of finding Kylie. He had been away for what felt like an eternity, though it had just been a day. But now he longed to see her, to feel the warmth of Kylie's presence, and to assure himself that she was safe.
As he neared the clearing where he had last seen Kylie with her brothers, a surge of relief washed over him. There she was, standing amidst the dappled sunlight, engaged in a conversation. Max approached them, his steps cautious yet filled with eagerness.
Kylie's brothers noticed his arrival and exchanged knowing glances before taking their leave. They understood the connection between Max and Kylie, recognising the depth of their feelings for each other. With promises to search for clues about Selena, they disappear into the depths of the forest, leaving Max and Kylie alone.
"Hey, Max!" Kylie greeted him, her voice filled with warmth and affection. She took a step closer, closing the distance between them. "I'm glad you're back. It feels like forever since we've been together."
Max's eyes softened as he took in the sight of Kylie standing before him, her radiant smile lighting up the clearing. His heart swelled with a mixture of relief and longing. "I've missed you, Kylie," he confessed, his voice laced with sincerity. "Being away from you was unbearable. But I promise I'll do everything in my power to keep you safe."
Kylie's smile grew wider as she reached out, intertwining her fingers with his. The touch sent a surge of warmth coursing through her veins. "I know you will, Max," she replied, her voice brimming with trust. "I have faith in you. We'll find Selena and put an end to this darkness together."
Max's eyes were fixed on Kylie, and his heart was swelling with a mixture of joy and concern. He couldn't help but notice the exhaustion etched on her face and the weariness in her eyes. He stepped closer, his voice filled with tenderness, as he asked, "Kylie, how are you feeling?"
"I've been sleeping a lot," she admitted softly. "But I'm glad you're back. I was worried about you."
Just as the evening sky darkened, Max's gaze shifted towards the horizon. The moon, with its silvery glow, was on the cusp of rising. He knew what this meant for Kylie—her first transformation into a wolf.
"Kylie," Max said gently, his voice carrying a mixture of awe and reassurance, "the moon is about to rise. It's time for your first turn. Know that I'll be right beside you, guiding you every step of the way."
Kylie couldn't breathe when she realised how important the moment was. She was nervous and excited, but having Max by her side gave her a constant sense of strength and safety.
She turned to him, her eyes filled with a mixture of trepidation and trust. "Thank you, Max," she murmured, her voice filled with a vulnerability she had reserved only for him. "I couldn't imagine going through this without you."
Max's gaze met hers, his eyes brimming with unwavering love and devotion. "I would do anything for you, Kylie," he replied softly. "Guiding you through this incredible journey is an honour—one that I accept gladly."
As the moon began its ascent, casting its ethereal glow upon the world, Max and Kylie positioned themselves in a secluded part of the forest. They stood facing each other, their hands intertwined, their hearts beating in synchrony.
With bated breath, Kylie closed her eyes, embracing the transformation that awaited her. She felt a surge of energy coursing through her veins as her body underwent a metamorphosis. Bones shifted, muscles transformed, and the essence of her being took on a new, awe-inspiring form.
Max marvelled as Kylie's human facade vanished and a magnificent rust-coloured she-wolf appeared in its place. He marvelled at the grace and power she exuded, her presence captivating him like the moonlight itself. He had seen transformations countless times before, but witnessing Kylie was an entirely new experience—one that filled his heart with an indescribable joy.
Max stripped off his shirt and pants. Then he shifted to his wolf.
"Let's go for a run, dear."
As the moon rose higher in the night sky, Max and Kylie ventured into the moonlit wilderness together, their souls entwined. Max served as Kylie's guide, leading her through the intricacies of her newfound senses and abilities. He revelled in the beauty of her grace as she bounded through the undergrowth, her fur shimmering under the moon's watchful gaze.
It felt amazing to run. She burned off all the extra stresses and worries until she forgot about them. Nothing in this world mattered now besides her and Max and the game of keep-away that they were now playing.
She continued her run and wondered where Max was.
I am right behind you, Love.
Kylie slowed down slightly in reaction to his statement. He sounded like he was close to her. How is that even possible? Was he really that fast?
She came to a halt, looked behind her, and noticed Max standing a few feet away. Kylie was panting from her run, but Max seemed unfazed. He appeared to be able to pursue her for hours on end.
Fuck! How do you be so quick?
I've got a lot more practice than you, sweetie. He moved closer to Kylie. She noticed him moving his gaze up and down her body. Do you intend to give up?
No! Kylie fled, but before she could, Max was standing right in front of her.
Are you certain you want to flee from me, Kylie?
Max, it's not fair.
I know. He moaned as he pressed his brow to hers. She pushed against him hard enough that he shifted, allowing her to lick his muzzle. I don't believe you're ready for me just yet.
What?
He stepped back from her and moved aside so she could flee if she wanted to. She did precisely that. He was being arrogant, which was irritating her.
She hissed at him and swiped her paw out at his face before fleeing. He then started chasing after her.
I assumed you didn't want me.
I reconsidered.
What if I decide I don't want you?
So, I suppose I'll just have to compel you to submit.
Kylie took off again. He slammed into her and pushed her onto her back before she could reverse her direction, hoping to outrun Max. Max licked her muzzle as she lay shocked on the ground. She considered fighting him and fleeing again, but she was exhausted. She decided he'd won this time and remained still for him.
What now, Max?
Well, now that I've captured you, it's time to claim you.
He stepped away from her so she could rise on all fours again. She remained perfectly motionless and waited once she was upright. Max gently circled her and smelled the air many times. She shuddered with excitement and noted that he did as well. He then came to a halt at her tail and licked her with his tongue. She shifted herself to provide him greater access to her and whimpered for him to continue. After a few seconds, he came to a halt and positioned himself entirely behind her. Then he mounted her and entered her in one move, causing Kylie to yell in response to the sudden and powerful intrusion.
Max mated quickly and relentlessly. He tightened his fangs around her neck and pounded into her. They quickly found their release and howled with delight.
After they were finished, they both dropped to the ground and changed.
Kylie cuddled deeper into his arms, listening to the sounds of the woodland surrounding them. She could sense the emotions of the other wolves now that she was a member of the pack.
"I can sense feelings." She spoke.
Yeah, you are now connected to the pack; you can communicate with everyone mentally."
"You know, I always envied my brother when they talked mentally to themselves. It's so cool." She grinned.
Max chuckled and kissed the top of her head. "Well, now you get to experience it too," he said, his voice filled with pride. As they lay there, connected to the pack and each other, Kylie couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging she had never felt before.
" A deer! I can hear a deer!" She suddenly said, sitting up. Her predator instincts kicked in, and she growled. Max's eyes widened in surprise as he felt Kylie's sudden shift in demeanour. "Easy, Kylie," he whispered soothingly, trying to calm her down.
"Remember, you are new to this. Let me take you hunting. Just follow my lead."
Max watched Kylie with awe and adoration as she gracefully bounded through the undergrowth. He marvelled at the way her movements blended with the rhythm of the forest; her wolf formed a seamless extension of her being.
As Kylie chased after her prey, a sudden presence invaded their minds. It was Cayden, and the urgency in Cayden's voice sent a chill down Max's spine.
"Max, come see me immediately." Cayden's voice echoed in Max's thoughts. "Something terrible has happened. Magnus has seized control of the werewolf council."
