Daniella's POV
Enzo had betrayed my trust, and I could barely stand to look at him. He was probably the most stupid of the quadruplet brothers, but I would never have put him down as a traitor. Did he not care that Rio loved me and wanted me? I was the best fit for this pack as the future Luna. Now, my plan was down the toilet, and I had to think of something else quickly because I knew their father would be furious with me, not to mention my own parents.
“You and Tricia won't get away with this!” he growled at me and I wanted to push him away but I knew he was all stronger than me.
“Leave me alone.” I snapped at him as he glared at me and tightened his grip on me.
“Enzo. Release her. I will deal with this now.” Alpha Morgan appeared out of nowhere.
Enzo instantly did as his father ordered and I smirked at him smugly.
"Daniella, a word in my office. Now." Alpha Morgan hollered, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. He had never spoken to me like that before, and it made me feel slightly afraid. Had I gone too far this time?
"Yes, alpha Morgan.” I followed him and stood in the doorway with my head bowed, waiting for his permission to enter. I knew better than to piss him off any further.
"Get in here now." he roared, grabbing my arm and yanking me into the room; he forced me into a chair and slammed the door behind him. I was near to tears and unsure how he would proceed with this.
"Speak now, and I want the truth." He lowered himself to my level and placed a finger under my chin so I would give him eye contact.
"Alpha Morgan, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to cause any problems, and I don't want to be hurt, please." I begged him as tears rolled down my face. I didn't dare wipe my eyes. I kept my hands in my lap and remained as still as I could.
I could feel the weight of Alpha Morgan's gaze as he demanded the truth. I was trapped, my emotions raw and exposed. I had never been in this position before, and the fear of his wrath was palpable. I didn't dare look up at him, instead keeping my gaze fixed on the floor, my hands trembling as I tried to hold back the tears.
I had never intended to cause so much trouble. I had only wanted to secure a future for myself within the pack, to ensure that Rio and I could be together. But now, it seemed like that future was slipping away from me.
As I sat there, feeling like I was at the mercy of Alpha Morgan's anger, I couldn't help but wonder what Enzo had told him. Had he split the entire story, revealing my plan to be the future Luna? The thought made my heart sink.
I took a deep breath to calm myself down and gather my thoughts. I knew that if I didn't think fast, I could lose everything I had worked for. But what could I say? How could I explain away the betrayal?
As Alpha Morgan's finger pressed gently against my chin, urging me to look up at him, I felt a lump in my throat. I knew I had to be brave to face whatever consequences came my way. With a deep breath, I slowly raised my gaze to meet his, trying to appear as remorseful as possible.
"I'm so sorry," I whispered, my voice trembling. "I didn't mean to cause any problems. I just wanted to secure a future for myself within the pack... for Rio and me."
Alpha Morgan's expression remained stern, but I could see a glimmer of curiosity in his eyes. He leaned back in his chair, his eyes never leaving mine.
"What did you plan to do, Daniella?" he asked, his voice low and even.
I hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. But I knew that I couldn't hide the truth from him forever. With a deep breath, I told him everything—from Rylan's refusal to accept me and then my plan to be the future Luna, through the help of Tricia, and my desire to be with Rio.
Alpha Morgan listened intently, his expression unreadable. When I finished speaking, he sat silently, fixed on me.
"I'm disappointed, Daniella," he said finally. "I thought you were better than this. You're a strong and capable beta-blooded female, and I thought you had more sense than trying to manipulate others to get what you want. You thought this was a good idea?"
I felt a pang of shame at his words. "I'm sorry, Alpha Morgan," I repeated. "I didn't mean to hurt anyone. I just wanted to be happy."
Alpha Morgan sighed and leaned forward, his eyes still stern.
"Listen, Daniella," he said. "I'm not happy about how you tried to trick my sons, and I understand how difficult it must be for you to know that you are not their destined mate. However, this pack needs strong leaders whom the pack can look up to and trust with their whole hearts. They will not respect anyone who lies. Now tell me what you know about this white wolf and Eliza's disappearance."
I felt a jolt of surprise at the sudden change in topic. I had been expecting Alpha Morgan to be furious with me, demanding that I leave the pack and never return. But instead, he was asking me about something else entirely. Why was he mentioning Eliza and the white wolf in the same sentence? I wondered if he suspected anything more than he was letting on.
"I... I don't know anything about the white wolf," I said, sounding as innocent as possible. "I don't know why Eliza would have disappeared."
Alpha Morgan's expression didn't change, but I could sense a hint of skepticism in his eyes.
"I see," he said. "Well, you'll have to prove yourself to me, Daniella. You'll have to help me find Eliza and uncover the truth about the white wolf. If you do that, I might be willing to forgive you for your betrayal, and I will not discuss this with your parents since they will be furious about your actions. Don't you agree?"
I felt a surge of hope at his words. Forgiveness was precisely what I needed. But I knew that it wouldn't be easy. I would have to work hard to regain Alpha Morgan's trust, and I would have to put my desires and ambitions aside.
"Yes, Alpha," I said, trying to sound confident. "I will do whatever I have to do."
Alpha Morgan nodded, his expression still stern. "But this stays between me and you. Do you understand?"
I nodded my head. I understood completely and would do anything to make the Alpha happy. Having him on my side would make it easier for me to become Luna.
“But don't think about going behind my back with this, do you hear me? I want to know everything and I mean everything.” he slammed his fist to the table and made me shudder with anxiety. The alpha wasn't someone to be messed with, I knew his temper wasn't something anyone wished to see.
“Rylan believes that Eliza is the white wolf and I won't allow such rubbish to be spread. I need proof and no stone left unturned.” he continued to say. I wanted to cry at the thought of Eliza being the White Wolf. Rylan was the only one really standing in my way now of being the Luna. I had to fulfil Alpha Morgan’s wishes if I wanted to ensure my own future.
“I mean it, Daniella. Find me what I want to know.” he growled.
