Eliza’s POV
“Father? What is this all about?” I turned to my father and asked. What was he trying to gain from having me face Alpha Morgan and be told that Grayson wasn't his son?
“Ask him who Grayson’s father is and why he doesn't believe in fated mates. Ask him why he didn't want his sons to have you as their Luna and mate.”
I felt a surge of anger and betrayal as I listened to my father's words. How could he be so cruel and manipulative? Why was he forcing me to confront Alpha Morgan, of all people, about something so personal and painful?
I took a deep breath and tried to calm down, focusing on the task at hand. I had to get to the bottom of this and find out what my father was hiding.
"Alpha Morgan," I said, trying to steady my voice. "I've been told that you don't believe in fated mates. Can you explain why?"
Alpha Morgan's expression turned cold and distant. "I believe in loyalty and power," he said. "Fated mates are just a myth, a way for the weak-willed to cling to false hope. The strongest wolves take what they want without apology or remorse."
I felt a shiver run down my spine as I listened to his words. How could he be so devoid of compassion and empathy?
"And what about Grayson?" I asked, trying to keep my voice from shaking. "Who is his father?"
Alpha Morgan's eyes narrowed. "You're wasting your time, Eliza. Grayson's father is none of your concern. What matters is that he's mine, and he'll do what I say." Alpha Morgan laughed. "You're just a foolish little girl, Eliza. Do you think you can stand up to me? I'll crush you like the insignificant insect you are. You are only still standing because you are the daughter of the King.
I felt a burning anger inside me, but I knew I had to keep my cool if I was going to get any answers out of him.
"Who is Grayson's father?" I repeated, my voice cold and detached.
Alpha Morgan's eyes flashed with anger, but he didn't answer. Instead, he turned and walked away, leaving me helpless and frustrated.
”Theron.” my brother stepped beside me and pulled me away from Morgan’s reach whilst our father continued to glare at Morgan with a psychotic look about him. I felt as if he had lost his mind; he hated Morgan, and after what he had done to Mabel, I thought it was very likely that my father would end up doing the same to my old alpha.
I just wanted to get out of there.
His words rang loudly in my head. Theron? Was he being serious? But how could that be possible? During my time at Silver Pack, he had never once mentioned anything about him having had a child with Creek’s Luna.
“Theron and Lara were destined to be together, but she ended up with me and had an affair with Theron, causing her to become pregnant with Grayson.” my father finally explained, looking at me as we made eye contact.
“He deserves to die for how he allowed you to be treated; an omega? My Royal daughter? What an absurd thing to do. You're a disgusting excuse of an alpha. That pack would be better run by a bunch of monkeys than you.” my father shook his head and proceeded to spit at Morgan. He wasn't worthy of being called Alpha anyway. I didn't feel an ounce of pity for him, and he deserved to be punished for his crimes, and they all did.
“Come on, Eliza. I'm taking you out of here.” Alex growled as he led me out of the dirty cell, and we silently made our way back up to the main corridor.
Our father didn't even try to stop us, but I knew that was because he was going to hurt Morgan. I could hear the cries of agony as my father whipped his bare back.
"I need to talk to Theron," I said eventually.
Alex stopped and turned to me. "You can't just go back there and confront him like that," he said. "You're not even safe alone."
I pulled away from my brother and rolled my eyes. "I need to know the truth," I said firmly.”And besides, my Wolf is strong, and I know she can handle anything. She's amazing. I trust her.”
Alex sighed and then nodded. "Fine. But I am going with you.”
Bernard and Alfred had been waiting for us to return, and they seemed fed up with waiting, not that I could blame them.
“I've had a call, Prince Alex.” Bernard bowed before approaching us. I exchanged a look of surprise with my brother. Alex nodded to Bernard, waiting for him to explain what he was discussing.
“Ok, and what is it?” he raised an eyebrow and leaned against the door frame.
“It seems Grayson plans to take over Creek and make himself the new Alpha; however, Alpha Theron has taken Grayson back to his pack. The Alpha quadruplets are refusing to help him.”
"I'm going back to Creek," I said, my determination growing. "I need to know what's going on and why Grayson thinks he has a right to take over. I don't like what is happening. It needs resolving. As the princess and the Prince of werewolves, it's out duty to ensure everyone lives in harmony. I'm sick of all this bad vibes. It's time things really did change.”
Alex frowned. "Eliza, I already told you you can't just go there alone. It's not safe for you."
"I'm not alone," I said, looking at Bernard. "You're coming with me, aren't you?"
Bernard nodded. "Of course, Princess. We'll all come with you."
Alfred nodded in agreement. "We'll make sure you're safe."
I turned to Alex. "You're coming too," I said.
