Daniella’s POV
“I'm sorry, Daniella; the boys do not want you as our chosen mate or Luna. Rylan is stuck on this idea of the white wolf being our mate. It's absolute madness.” Rio shook his head sadly as he finally finished his meeting with his brothers and his parents. I clenched my fists and turned away so he could not see the anger in my face. It was difficult for me not to feel so betrayed. All my life, I had dreamt of being the Luna of the creek. How could the moon goddess grant someone else the place as Luna, which should be mine? I needed to go and see Tricia. I knew that if Rio or the others saw the White Wolf, they would know she was their mate. I remembered how Rylan looked at her and the sparks between them. It wasn't fair, and I knew I had to do something more drastic to stop their Wolf, knowing she was their mate. If all four brothers were together as one, then their Wolf would see the truth. Then, I would lose my chance for good.
“Daniella, sweetheart, is everything ok?” Rio tapped my shoulder gently and then wrapped his arms around me. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, trying to compose myself before turning to face him.
“Yes, Rio, I’m okay. I need some time to myself, I think. I’ll be okay.” I forced a smile, not wanting him to worry about me.
“Okay, if you need anything, just let me know. I’ll always be here for you.” Rio said sincerely, giving me a soft kiss on the forehead before letting me go.
I went to Tricia’s room, my mind racing with thoughts and plans to stop the White Wolf from being their chosen mate. I couldn’t let this happen, and I had to find a way to change their minds and make them see that I was the one meant for them.
As I approached Tricia’s bedroom, I tried to push aside my negative thoughts and focus on the task. I knocked on the door and waited for her to answer, hoping that she would be able to help me come up with a plan.
“Daniella, what are you doing here?” Tricia looked surprised to see me, but she still welcomed me inside.
“I need your help, Tricia. I must find a way to change their minds and make them see that I am their rightful Luna.” I pleaded with her, hoping she would understand and support my mission.
Tricia listened intently, her eyes filled with understanding. “I will help you, Daniella. We will find a way to make them see the truth. Together, we can make this right.”
I felt relief wash over me, knowing that I had Tricia by my side. With her help, I was confident that we could find a way to make the brothers see that I was their true mate. It was not over yet, and I was determined to fight for what was rightfully mine. “I need to stop their Wolf from realising the truth about that bitch white wolf. If the four of them get together and see or smell her, I can't cope with what will become of me.” I sighed and shuddered at the thought of it.
“Do you remember Serena? I'm sure she could help us.” Tricia suggested, and I looked at Tricia with hope and desperation. "Yes, please, Tricia. Anything that can help us, I'm willing to try," I said, feeling a glimmer of hope that there might be a solution after all.
“Of course.” Tricia nodded, a determined look in her eyes as she grabbed her phone and quickly dialled Serena's number. After a brief conversation, she turned to me with a smile. "Serena has agreed to meet us. She believes she has a potion that can help cloud the wolves' senses and prevent them from recognising the White Wolf as their mate."
“Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go.” I exclaimed with eagerness.
As we arrived at the cottage, Serena welcomed us with a warm smile, her eyes gleaming with wisdom and power. She led us inside, where shelves filled with jars and vials lined the walls, each containing mysterious ingredients and potions.
"Welcome, Daniella and Tricia. I have been expecting you," Serena said, her voice soft yet commanding. She gestured for us to sit as she began preparing the potion to help us in our mission.
I watched in awe as Serena mixed various herbs and liquids in a cauldron, chanting ancient words under her breath. The air filled with a heady aroma, a mix of earthy scents and magic that seemed to dance around us.
Finally, Serena handed me a small vial of a shimmering silver liquid. "This potion is designed to cloud the senses of the wolves, to twist their perceptions and make them see things differently," she explained.
I looked at the vial in awe, feeling excited and nervous about what we were about to do. "How does it work exactly?" I asked, intrigued by Serena's craft.
"The potion must be rubbed onto an object that the wolves come in contact with frequently, like their pillows. When they sleep, the potion will seep into their senses, creating an illusion that the White Wolf is not their true mate," Serena explained with a mysterious smile.
I nodded, understanding the plan. I knew that the potion was a risky endeavour, but I trusted Serena's expertise and believed that it was necessary to protect my position as the future Luna of Creek Pack.
With the vial securely tucked in my pocket, I thanked Serena and quickly left with Tricia by my side.
“I hope this works,” I said as we returned quickly.
“Oh, trust me. If Serena says it will work, then it will.” Tricia linked her arm to mine.
As we arrived back at the pack house, I could feel the weight of the upcoming plan settling heavily on my shoulders. I knew that what we were about to do was risky, but I was willing to take that chance for the sake of my future as the Luna of Creek Pack.
Luckily, nobody questioned where we had been, and even if they had, I was the beta's daughter and could go where I pleased. Nobody batted an eyelid as we entered the main door of the beautiful pack house.
“Dani, I am your best friend, and I will help you however I can.” Tricia grabbed me by the shoulders and assured me firmly.
“I know that, and I will always be thankful for you.” I couldn't help but smile at her. I knew she would help me, and I loved her for always having my back.
“Let's do this,” Tricia whispered, ensuring nobody was around as she quickly hurried up the stairs to the quad's separate bedrooms.
I sought out Rylan first, knowing he was the most stubborn of the brothers regarding his belief that the White Wolf was their mate. I needed to find a way to keep him distracted while Tricia and I worked on executing our plan.
"Rylan, can we talk for a moment?" I approached him carefully, unsure of how he would react.
Rylan turned to face me, his expression guarded. "What do you want, Daniella? I have things to do.”
"I just wanted to apologise for any misunderstandings between us. I know things have been tense lately, and I want us to move past that and work together for the good of the pack," I said, trying to sound sincere.
Rylan's expression softened slightly, but I could still see the scepticism in his eyes. "I appreciate that, Daniella. Maybe we can start fresh and put the past behind us."
I smiled, relieved that he seemed to be buying into my act. "That would be great, Rylan. Let's focus on what's best for the pack moving forward."
With Rylan distracted, I knew Tricia and I could begin implementing our plan. It was risky, and there were no guarantees of success, but I was willing to do whatever it took to secure my place as the Luna of Creek Pack.
