Rylan’s POV
“What the hell is wrong with you, Daniella?” I demanded to know as she was shoved into an empty room. I couldn’t believe how stupid she was in front of Prince Alex and Eliza.
She is lucky she wasn’t ripped apart, but as the new alpha, we could not let her off lightly. We had to show an excellent example to others.
“I hate her. She doesn’t deserve anything. Why should she be a princess and in the royal family?” Daniella scowled and crossed her arms over her chest like a spoilt brat.
“You know what, Daniella? I’m so glad that we never took you as our chosen mate. Your attitude stinks.” With that, I gestured for the guard to lock the door and ensure Daniella stayed there until it was decided otherwise.
“Rylan, what will we do about this situation with Daniella?” Enzo asked me, and Rio stepped up before I could respond, let alone blink.
“What do you think?” I said, rubbing my chin and focusing on my brothers.
I could sense their concern when I looked at my brothers, Enzo and Rio. Daniella's actions had put us in a precarious situation. As the new alpha, I maintained order and respect within our pack, but I had to admit Daniella's behaviour was unacceptable.
"I think we need to find a way to deal with her without making it too public," I said, thinking out loud. We can't have her acting like that in front of the prince and Eliza. It isn't very comfortable for all of us since we want to keep on good terms with the royal family, even if Eliza did reject us.” Enzo nodded in agreement. But what about Daniella’s punishment? She's lucky she's not getting banished or worse."
Rio chimed in, "I think we should consider her background. She's always been a bit of a rebel, but this is different. Maybe there's something deeper going on that we're not aware of."
I considered his words. “Yeah, maybe you're right," I said. "Let's send someone to talk to her and figure out what's happening. Maybe there's a way to get through to her."
Enzo snorted. "Good luck with that. I've tried talking to her before, and she gets defensive. She is nothing but a brat wanting her way all the time.”
I raised an eyebrow. "That's exactly why we need someone else to try. Maybe someone who can get through to her without making her defensive."
Rio stepped forward. "I'll take care of it. I have a feeling I might be able to get some sense into her since I care about her well-being despite everything that happened.”
I nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. Maybe Rio was the key to fixing this mess. They had had a thing for a while.
"Okay, let's get Rio to talk to her and see if we can get her back on track," I said, turning to Enzo. And Enzo, keep an eye on things around here while Rio is gone. We don't want any more incidents," I said, referring to how Grayson had acted before. The whole pack needed shaking up, and we needed to know that we would be doing the best we could as the new alphas.
Enzo nodded, and Rio headed to the room where Daniella was being held.
I watched him go, hoping that we could salvage this situation after all.
Rio’s POV
I walked down the hallway, my mind racing about Daniella's behaviour and the potential consequences. As I approached the room where she was being held, I could hear her shouting to herself; her voice was laced with anger and frustration.
I took a deep breath and pushed open the door, trying to approach her calmly. "Hey, Daniella," I said softly. "Can we talk?"
She looked up at me, her eyes flashing with anger. "What do you want, Rio?"
I sat down beside her, trying to keep my tone calm and even. "I just wanted to talk to you about what happened earlier. You know, with the prince and Eliza."
She snorted. "Like I care what they think."
I sighed. "Look, Daniella, I get it. You're upset. But acting out in front of them wasn't the right way to handle it. And as a member of our pack, you must consider how your actions reflect on us all."
She crossed her arms over her chest, her expression unyielding. "I don't care about your rules or your pack. I'm sick of being stuck in this place, in this role I didn't choose. I should be a luna. I deserve that title. Your father promised me that.” she sulked childishly. Then her eyes widened, and a smile formed on her pretty face.
“Rio, what if we get together and you mark me? Your brothers will have no choice but to accept me as their luna and mate then?” she gushed excitedly, and I was speechless. Was she so crazy that she believed that would be the answer to becoming a Luna? Rylan, Enzo and Ed would never allow it, and after seeing how she had acted, it had cringed me out. Daniella was not mature enough for such a worthy title as Luna of Creek. There was no way I could do that. My brothers would kill me if I marked Daniella behind their backs.
“No!” I told her firmly. She gasped at my lack of agreement. Huffing, she pouted at me and fluttered her eyelashes as if I would be hypnotised into doing as she wanted.
“Daniella, you are acting so stupid. Do you think that the others will allow this to happen? We can't force the mate bond. Eliza was our mate, but she rejected us, and that's all because of how we treated her. If the moon goddess blesses us with another chance, mate, then so be it, but it will never be you.”I knelt to her level and tried to explain, but she only got madder. I was so surprised when she raised a hand and slapped me hard against my cheek.
My eyes flashed with anger, and I grabbed her hand and shoved her to the ground. How dare she disrespect me that way.
“Chain her up!” Ed growled from behind me, and I realised my brothers had felt my anger rise and had come down to find out what was happening.
“How dare you slap an alpha. Are you so stupid?” Enzo growled, and Daniella burst into tears as she backed away against the wall. The guard pulled out the chains and grabbed her wrists. She did not dare to protest or say a word. She kept her eyes on the ground, and I felt nothing for her. Not even a twinge of sympathy. She deserved to rot in this smelly, mouldy room.
“Let's go, brother.” Rylan gently gestured me out of the room, and I accepted. Looking back over my shoulder, I saw Daniella’s eyes locked on me and the fear on her face.
“Rot, you bitch.” I shouted as the door was slammed behind us.
