Daniella pov
My jaw dropped as I stared at her. It was Eliza. Standing before me, she exuded an air of sophistication and poise that left me breathless. Her transformation was astonishing – she looked stunning, with her hair styled to perfection, makeup flawlessly applied, and eyes sparkling with a newfound confidence.
I felt rooted to the spot, unable to move or speak as my gaze devoured every detail of her appearance. She was a far cry from the girl I had known before. Her evolution was both startling and captivating. I never could have imagined the omega girl could be standing before me like she was.
As we locked eyes, the air was electric with tension. My heart raced in my chest, and my palms grew damp. It was as if time had stood still.
Prince Alex's announcement broke the silence, his voice calm and collected. "We're here to discuss matters with the new alpha." He smiled warmly at Eliza, his eyes shining with adoration as she linked her arm through his.
"My sister wanted to attend," he added, emphasising the point. “So here we are!”
Eliza's eyes never left mine as Prince Alex continued, his tone formal but laced with a hint of rebuke. "Alpha Morgan and Luna Lara will not be returning to this pack. I want to congratulate you on becoming the new alphas of Creek Pack. I hope you'll lead with passion and greatness. And most importantly, I hope you'll do a better job than your parents managed." I watched as the quadruplet brothers bowed and shook hands with Prince Alex.
"We're willing to put the past behind us and move forward in peace," Rylan said, his eyes locked on mine. "We don't want to see your father, the king, upset again.”
Eliza nodded in agreement.” He's been struggling with the aftermath of your parents'... indiscretions."
Eliza's grip on Prince Alex's arm tightened slightly, her expression unreadable. I sensed a flicker of unease from her, but she maintained her composure.
"We understand the gravity of the situation," Prince Alex continued. "But we'll give you a chance to prove yourselves as alphas. If, however, we feel that you're not up to the task or if your pack is causing harm to our own, we will not hesitate to intervene and take control of Creek Pack. We hope that is very much understood and respected by yourselves.”
"I understand your concerns," Rio cleared his throat and said. "But we're committed to being fair and just leaders. We'll work hard to build trust and strengthen our packs.
Prince Alex’s gaze narrowed slightly, his eyes searching for any sign of weakness. "We'll be watching closely," he said. "Very closely. Even though my sister rejected you as her destined mate, we can all get along and build a better future together.”
I looked at Eliza and then at the quadruplet brothers; she did reject them and think that she was better than them. Did she look down her nose at us now that we were of a lower rank than her, the Royal Princess? I did not dare to speak the words whirling in my mind. Instead, I remained silent beside the new Alphas.
"I understand that you're wary of us," Enzo said, trying to ease any tension. "But we're willing to prove ourselves. We'll work with you to resolve outstanding issues and ensure a smooth transition. Alpha Theron has already taken Grayson from our pack. We hope there will be no problems further.”
Prince Alex’s expression remained sceptical, but he nodded slightly. "Very well. We'll send a team to assess the situation and report to us. If everything checks out, we'll be willing to work with you.”
Prince Alex turned to Eliza and said. “Perhaps it's time we returned home now. Father will want to discuss things with us.”
“Hold on.” Eliza's voice dripped with venom as she turned to me, her eyes flashing with malice. "One thing," she spat, her gaze piercing mine. I felt a shiver run down my spine as she spoke, my instincts warning me of the storm brewing. Her brother followed her gaze, his curiosity piqued. "What's that, Princess Eliza?" he asked, his tone neutral. “Is everything ok?” he wiggled his eyebrows.
Eliza's smile twisted into a sneer as she pointed at me with a bony finger. "I want a full apology from her and her so-called friends for everything they put me through," she hissed, her words dripping with resentment. Her smug expression was a warning sign that she was far from done with us.
