Eliza’s POV
As the king extended his hand towards me, a mix of emotions swirled within me - excitement, fear, and a deep-rooted curiosity about the life that awaited me at his royal castle. With a steady resolve, I took a deep breath and placed my hand in his, signalling my agreement to accompany him back to his kingdom.
“I accept your offer, your Majesty.” I bowed to him, and he looked pleased at my words. Turning towards the Silver Moon pack, my heart heavy with a mingling of gratitude and sorrow, I knew that bidding farewell to the family I had come to love would not be an easy task. Alpha Theron, Gerald, Caia, and all the other pack members stood before me, their faces a mixture of understanding and support as they prepared to say goodbye.
"Alpha Theron, my dear friend, you have been like a father to me, guiding me and supporting me through every challenge and triumph," I began, my voice filled with emotion as I addressed the pack leader who had welcomed me into the pack with open arms.
"You have shown me what it means to be a true leader, a protector of your pack, and a source of strength in times of need. I will forever cherish the time I have spent with the Silver Moon pack, for it has been a true blessing in my life."
Alpha Theron's eyes shone with pride and understanding, and his voice filled with warmth as he responded, "Eliza, you are a part of this pack, our family, and though our paths may diverge, know that you will always have a home with us. May your future be bright and filled with fulfilment, my dear."
Caia stood beside me, her eyes filled with unshed tears as she took my hand in hers, her voice gentle yet filled with emotion, "Eliza, you have been a true friend to me, despite how we didn't get along at first. I will always cherish the memories we have shared. Your spirit and courage have inspired us all, and though it pains me to see you go, I know that great things await you in the king's realm." She said as I looked away and nodded.
"My dear packmates, I will carry each of you with me as I embark on this new chapter of my life. Your unwavering support and love have shaped me into the person I am today, and I am eternally grateful for the time we have shared. Though I may be leaving physically, know that I will always be connected to each of you, for we are bound by friendship and pack loyalty."
As I prepared to depart with the king, the pack gathered around us, their faces a mixture of sadness and understanding. Alpha Theron stepped forward again, his voice filled with pride and love for his pack member.
"Eliza, may your journey be filled with adventure and discovery. Remember the lessons you have learned here, and know that you always have a home with us. Farewell, my dear, and may the moon guide your path and bring you back to us one day."
And with that, I bid a final farewell to the Silver Moon pack, and I climbed into the shiny carriage. I quickly settled into the plush velvet seat of the royal carriage, and the weight of my decision to leave the Silver Moon pack behind settled heavily on my shoulders.
Beside me, the king sat with regal serenity, his gaze fixed ahead as if he could see the future unfolding before him. His presence was reassuring and enigmatic, a blend of authority and compassion that drew me closer in a way I could not explain.
"Eliza," the king's voice broke the silence, his tone measured and thoughtful. "I understand this is a momentous decision for you, leaving behind your pack and embarking on a new journey with us. But know that you are not alone in this journey. You have my support and the support of the entire royal court. We welcome you with open arms and hearts."
His words struck a chord within me, a reminder that I was not only leaving behind the pack but also stepping into a realm of possibilities and opportunities I had never imagined. The future seemed to shimmer with promise and uncertainty, a blend of excitement and trepidation that set my heart racing.
The king's gaze turned to me, a glint of curiosity and respect in his eyes. "Eliza," he said, his voice soft yet commanding. "You have shown courage and determination in accepting my invitation. Remember that you are here not just as a guest but as a valued member of our kingdom. Your journey is just beginning, and I do not doubt you will leave a mark on this court that will be remembered for generations."
As the king spoke those words, his voice filled with emotion and a hint of nostalgia, a wave of warmth washed over me. I glanced up at him, my heart swelling with gratitude for his kind words and the sense of belonging they brought.
"Thank you, Your Majesty," I replied, my voice tinged with emotion. "I am honoured to be here.”
The king's eyes softened as he looked at me. "You have your mother's eyes," he murmured, his words carrying a deep feeling that resonated within me. "Me and your mother always dreamt of finding you again one day.”
“My mother?” I whispered those words. I had never known what it was like to have a mother.
The king's expression softened at my whispered question, a look of understanding and sympathy crossing his features. He reached out and gently placed a hand on mine, his touch conveying warmth and reassurance.
"Eliza," he began, his voice gentle yet firm. "Your mother was a woman of great courage and grace. She possessed a kindness and compassion that touched the hearts of all who knew her. Though you may not have had the chance to know her, her spirit lives on in you, reflected in your every word and action. We have a lot to discuss, but first on the list is getting you settled and introducing you to your brother.”
