Eliza's POV
“Eliza, you're strong, and you can do just fine without him as your mate. But are you ok?” Caia's concern and words brought me back to the present, the weight of the events that had transpired still heavy on my shoulders. I nodded in response, not trusting myself to speak, my gaze fixed on the ground as I tried to steady my emotions.
"He's lucky Alpha Theron showed restraint," Caia remarked with a sigh, her words carrying relief and resignation. The thought of Rylan facing the wrath of our Alpha made my heart clench with a pang of guilt and unease. Despite everything, I didn't want to see him hurt, even if our paths had diverged so painfully.
"Thank you, Caia," I whispered.
“Were they that bad to you back at that Creek pack?” she asked curiously.
Caia's question brought back memories from my time at Creek Pack, memories that I had tried to bury beneath a facade of strength and resilience. I bit my lip, the vivid recollections of Daniella and Tricia's taunting words and cruel behaviour resurfacing.
"They... they weren't the kindest," I admitted softly, the weight of those memories heavy in my voice. The teasing and mockery I had endured at the hands of my former packmates had left scars on my heart, wounds that had taken time to heal and overcome.
I remembered how Daniella and Tricia had singled me out, their words like daggers aimed at my insecurities and fears. But over time, I had learned to steel myself against their taunts, to ignore their hurtful ways and find solace in my strength and resilience.
"It wasn't easy," I continued. With a deep breath, I pushed aside the lingering memories of Creek Pack, focusing on the present and the future that awaited me.
“But you are safe here with us at Silver Moon. Alpha Theron won't let anyone harm you.” caia said to me, and I knew that she was right. “She's right. You are under our protection. If Creek wants to wage a war, then so be it.” Alpha Theron appeared beside us, and I
“But you are safe here with us at Silver Moon. Alpha Theron won't let anyone harm you.” Caia said to me, and I knew that she was right. “She's right. You are under our protection. If Creek wants to wage a war, then so be it.” Alpha Theron appeared beside us, and I nodded, grateful for the reassurance and protection that Alpha Theron and the Silver Moon pack offered me. The sense of safety and security that surrounded me in this new pack had been a stark contrast to the fear and uncertainty I had felt at Creek Pack.
"Thank you, Alpha Theron," I said softly. “I trust in your leadership, Alpha Theron," I said, my voice steady with conviction. The bond I had formed with the Silver Moon pack, and with Alpha Theron in particular, fueled my resolve to stand firm in the face of any challenges that may come our way.
“But Eliza, the thing is, the king will want to know about you and meet you since you do have the white fur which marks the sign of royalty. You are worth more than Creek pack.”
Alpha Theron mentioned the significance of my white fur, marking me as a sign of royalty, and a wave of mixed emotions washed over me. The idea that I held a special status within the werewolf community, one that made me valuable and important, was both overwhelming and daunting.
"I... I don't know if I'm ready for that," I admitted, my voice tinged with uncertainty. The thought of meeting the king and possibly being thrust into a spotlight I hadn't asked for filled me with apprehension. The weight of expectation and responsibility that came with my white fur was a heavy burden to bear, one that made me question my worth and abilities.
