Rylan’s POV
I watched in disgust as Grayson was dragged away, kicking and screaming. He had turned into a lunatic. Daniella stood trembling with fear, and I felt sympathetic to her ordeal. My brother acted stupidly and let his greed get the better of him. He could never be a good leader with that attitude.
“He said I was to mate with him.” Daniella shuddered at the thought as Rio attempted to comfort her.
“Well, he's gone now, and he won't be a problem. Theron will deal with that arse of a loser.” Enzo growled, and I nodded my head in agreement.
“I'm ashamed to call him our brother.” Ed sighed.
“I'm sorry he put you through that, but he won't return.” I clenched my jaw, feeling mixed emotions: anger towards Grayson for putting Daniella through that, sympathy for her trauma, and relief that the situation was finally under control. I glanced around at my brothers, who looked at me with a similar sense of unease.
“Rylan, what happens now? If alpha Morgan isn't coming back, then who will be alpha of creek?” Daniella asked, and I stopped dead in my tracks. “We need to speak to the elders. Creek can't go without an alpha. If anyone else gets wind of this, then our pack will be at a huge risk of attacks. We can't let that happen.”
I nodded, my mind racing with the gravity of the situation. "We can't leave the pack, not until we've decided what to do about the alpha position. We must get the elders and call an emergency meeting, pronto."
I pulled out the phone in the office and quickly dialled the number of our pack's elder, Marcus. After a brief conversation, I hung up and turned to the others.
"It's set. The elders will meet us at the clearing in an hour. We need to get there as quickly as possible."
I glanced at Daniella, who was still slightly shaken but trying to compose herself. "And Daniella, you're safe with us. We'll make sure nothing happens to you. Where are your parents?” I wanted to know since I had not seen them since we arrived home.
“I'm not sure,” she admitted, a flicker of worry flashed across her face.
“We need to discuss how we go forward, and as the current beta of the creek, I need them here,” I said.
“Rylan, Daniella, what's going on?” I turned to see Daniella’s mother walking towards us with her mate, the current beta of our pack.
“Our parents are deposed of their position as alpha and Luna. Grayson will not be taking their place. We have a meeting with the elders now.” I quickly explained.
When we arrived, the elders were already there waiting for us.
“Good day to you all.” My brothers and I stood beside the elders and greeted the pack.
The air was excited as the pack gathered around us, their eyes fixed on the elders. Marcus and Ava stood tall, their wise faces reflecting their deep consideration.
"We have considered the proposal. The proposal for a new alpha of Creek since Luna Lara and Alpha Morgan have been deposed of their titles. We want to put forward that the Alpha Quadruplets, Rylan, Rio, Enzo and Edward, are to be our new Alphas of Creek alongside the current beta, George and Gina," Marcus said finally, his voice measured. "And we have decided this to be the best possible outcome going forward.”
Ava nodded in agreement. "Yes, having four co-alphas would be a strong and unique approach for our pack. You quadruplets have always worked together seamlessly, and we see great potential in this new structure."
I felt an overflow of pride and gratefulness towards my brothers as we looked at each other, our bond stronger than ever. We would do our best to ensure our pack would be one of the best and strongest.
"But," Marcus continued, "there are some conditions. As co-alphas, you must work together to make decisions for the pack. You must consult with each other and make sure that your decisions benefit the pack as a whole."
Ed nodded enthusiastically. "We understand," he said. "We're ready to do whatever it takes to make Creek thrive."
Rio added, "And we promise to communicate openly and honestly with each other, always putting the pack's interests first."
Enzo grinned mischievously. "And we'll make sure to have each other's backs, no matter what."
“Indeed, we are all in agreement.” I smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. We were doing this. We were going to be co-alphas of Creek Pack.
Marcus nodded, his expression serious. "Very well then. By the power vested in me as an elder, I declare you quadruplets, Edward, Rio, Enzo, and Rylan, as the new alphas of Creek Pack."
Ava stepped forward, her eyes shining with warmth. "May you lead our pack with wisdom, strength, and love. Now you are free to return to your pack house and begin your duties as the new alphas of creek.”
The pack erupted into cheers and applause as we quadruplets stood together. We raised our hands in a gesture of unity, our hearts full of excitement and hope for the future.
“Let's go back and celebrate in style, and tonight we shift and go for a run, all of us,” Rio announced excitedly as the pack erupted into more cheers and applause.
“I cannot believe that we are now the alphas of the creek. We will certainly be doing our best to ensure everyone is happy. And there will be no forcing anyone to take a chosen mate.” I told my three brothers through our mind link, and they all agreed.
As we walked back towards the pack house, I couldn't help but think about what lay ahead. We had just been declared co-alphas, but we still had much to figure out.
"Daniella, can I talk to you for a minute?" I asked, falling into step beside her.
She nodded, looking at me warily. "Oh yeah, sure. What's up?"
"I just wanted to check in on you," I said. "You've been through a lot today, and I know it can't be easy. Especially since before, we left on bad terms.”
She nodded, her eyes unable to meet mine. "It's just...I never thought Grayson would do something like that. I thought he was my friend."
I put a hand on her shoulder. "He's not your friend, Daniella. He's a manipulative coward who used you to get what he wanted. And we're here for you now. Nothing, and nobody will hurt you. My father tried to push us together, but it wasn't what the moon goddess wanted. Let's make that clear.”
She smiled slightly, and I could see the tension in her body begin to ease.
"Yeah, I get it. Thanks, Rylan," she said. "Just talking to you makes me feel a little better."
I smiled back at her. "That's what family is for."
As we were about to walk up the steps to the central part of the pack house, I noticed a commotion at the gate.
“What's going on?” I called out to one of the patrol officers.
“Alpha Rylan, we have visitors.” he bowed and stepped aside.
My heart skipped a beat as I turned to face the newcomers. And that's when I saw her - Princess Eliza, once an omega in our pack, now standing tall and proud in her royal finery.
Beside her stood Prince Alex, his eyes scanning the area with curiosity and concern.
Daniella gasped behind me, her eyes wide with shock. "Eliza? Is it you?”
