Eliza’s POV
“I can't believe this is happening.” The words escaped my lips in a whisper, filled with wonder and disbelief. The idea of having a family member, especially a sibling, was something I had never dared to imagine. I had only ever had myself; even when Jasmine came to me the first time, I couldn't believe it. I was lucky, and I knew it.
As the carriage pulled up to the grand entrance of the royal castle, I couldn't help but feel a nervous energy. The prospect of meeting my brother, of finally having a piece of my past and my heritage come to light,
“Eliza, please. Don't worry. Everyone here is extremely friendly, and you will be looked after. Nobody will bring any harm or problems to you.” The King insisted as he placed a hand on my arm. It was as if he had read my mind.
“Thank you, your highness.” I bowed my head, causing him to chuckle and shake his head. “You don't need to address me as King. I am your father and would prefer to be called that if you would like.”
My eyes widened in surprise at his words. Father. The word felt foreign on my tongue, but there was a warmth and comfort in it that I had never experienced before. I looked up at him, my heart swelling with emotions I couldn't quite name.
"Father," I whispered, testing out the word, feeling a sense of belonging and acceptance.
“Are you ready to meet your family and see your home?” he asked.
I nodded, trying to calm myself as I took a deep breath. The King's reassuring words helped ease some of my nerves as I stepped out of the carriage
As the carriage door opened, I was greeted by a line of beaming servants dressed in elaborate uniforms lined up to welcome me to the castle. Their smiles were warm and welcoming, and I felt grateful for their kindness.
“Good day, Princess Elizabeth.” they all chanted respectfully. I felt like I were in a dream. How could little old me, an omega from Creek, be treated like a princess? I pinched myself to ensure that it was real.
I stepped out of the carriage, taking in the grandeur of the royal castle before me. The towering turrets, the lush gardens, and the intricate architecture all seemed like something out of a fairy tale.
“Come.” my father took my hand, and as we made our way towards the entrance, the servants bowed respectfully, their eyes filled with curiosity and excitement. I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the spectacle before me. This was a world that I had only ever dreamed of, and now I was a part of it.
As I crossed the threshold into the castle, I couldn't shake the feeling that this was all too good to be true. A part of me still couldn't believe that I had finally found my long-lost family, that I was finally home.
But as we approached a set of intricately carved doors, my pulse quickened with the realisation that on the other side awaited the family I never knew I had.
Taking a deep breath, I steeled myself for what lay ahead. The doors swung open, revealing a grand chamber lined with tapestries and adorned with flickering torches. And there, standing in the centre of the room, was a man with familiar eyes and a strangely comforting presence.
"My dear sister," he spoke, his voice soft yet filled with emotion.
“Pleased to meet you.” I smiled.
“Where have you been all these years? I'm so glad we finally have you back with us.” he pulled me into him and hugged me so tightly I thought I might be squashed to death.
“Now, now, son, let her breathe.” the king chuckled with amusement. My brother let me go and held me at arm's length. “You are Mother's image; you have her hair, her eyes. I can't believe it,” he exclaimed.
I smiled, feeling a sense of pride and connection to this man who was now my brother. "Thank you," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
The King, my father, cleared his throat and interrupted our reunion. "Let's get you settled in, shall we?" he said, his eyes twinkling with warmth. "You must be exhausted from your journey."
I nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. I was tired, but I was also excited to explore this new world and get to know my family.
“Father, allow me to show Eliza,” Alex said, to which the king agreed.
Alexa took my hand and led me to a beautiful room with a large bed and a fireplace. "This is your room," he said, his eyes excitedly shining. "You'll be staying here if that's ok with you?”
I nodded, feeling a sense of gratefulness towards my brother. I was glad to have him by my side, and I knew he would help guide me in this new world.
“I will leave you to settle in and check on you shortly. And Eliza? Tomorrow I want to know everything about your life. I mean everything.” Alex insisted before closing the door and leaving me to settle in.
The walls were adorned with intricate tapestries, and the bed was covered in plush velvet curtains. The furniture was ornate and heavy, with elaborate carvings and gilded accents. The room was filled with soft, golden light emanating from the walls.
I ran my hand over the soft, velvety bedspread, feeling the luxurious fabric beneath my fingertips. It was a far cry from the rough, worn-out blankets I had been used to in Creek pack.
I noticed a large, ornate mirror hanging on the wall. I got up and walked over to it, feeling curious. I had never seen a mirror like this before - it was huge, with intricate carvings and gilded edges.
Next was a portrait of a woman who looked much like me. I knew straight away it was my late mother. The woman I had never gotten the chance to meet and get to know.
As I sat by the window in my chambers, the past days' events played over in my mind like a whirlwind of emotions.
How could it be possible that I, Eliza, a mere commoner raised in obscurity, was connected to a royal family with a legacy as rich and profound as that of my mother's? The thought seemed too unbelievable, too surreal to fathom. And yet, as I traced the lines of my mother's portrait, the resemblance between us was striking and undeniable.
Getting up and returning to the bed, I lay down; my mind wandered back to the life I had left behind. The memories of the Creek pack, the quads, and their cruel behaviour towards me flooded my thoughts. I couldn't help but think about Daniella and Tricia, who had made it their mission to belittle and demean me, making me feel like a worthless, insignificant rat.
Had Alpha Morgan known about my connection to the Royal family? Perhaps that's why I was so resented? I wasn't sure, but I had a feeling there was something more to it.
I was no longer the same omega who had been bullied and belittled by those girls. I was now a princess, a member of the royal family, and I had a newfound confidence and self-worth.
I couldn't help but smile as I thought about the quads and their reactions if they could see me now. Daniella and Tricia would be green with envy; I was sure of it. They would be seething with jealousy and resentment, unable to comprehend how someone they had once tormented and bullied was now living a life of luxury and privilege.
