Theron’s POV
I pushed my son to the floor and opened the car door. “Get in now,” I ordered him through clenched teeth. He did as he was told, and I locked the door after him. He would be stupid to fight me again. I was stronger than him, and I couldn’t believe how silly he had been to try and take over Creek. His quadruplet brothers were next in line for that, and he would never have stood a chance against their wolf, Enigma.
The fact that he now knew I was his father made me feel a lot of relief and a huge weight taken off my shoulders. Lara was my fated mate, and she chose Morgan over me, which killed me. I hated him for taking her from me. When she fell pregnant the day we met in the forest, I was glad because it meant we would be together. I could have quickly taken down Creek, but I didn’t because I loved Lara, and she begged me many times to stay away. I respected that, but now things had changed.
Morgan had been sent to the king's jail for his crimes of not declaring a found child all those years ago. The moment I saw Eliza. I knew what she was.
“Are you going to kill me?” Grayson's voice suddenly brought me back to reality. I turned around in my seat and growled crossly. I wouldn’t kill my flesh and blood. He was my son. He needed to learn right from wrong. I would make sure he never dared to cross that line again.
I let out a chuckle and shook my head. “I’m not going to kill you. You are my child, despite your wrongdoings to Creek. Now sit back and be quiet until I decide what to do with you.” I said as the driver started the engine and pulled away from the creek pack's territory.
I wanted our packs to join forces and live in peace. We were both solid packs and didn’t need to be at war now that Morgan was no longer on the scene.
I glanced at Grayson, sitting quietly, his eyes fixed on the road ahead. He looked so much like me, with his piercing blue eyes and strong jawline. It was almost like looking into a mirror. I felt a pang of sadness over me, thinking about all the what-ifs and maybes.
What if Lara had chosen me instead of Morgan? Maybe our packs would have joined forces years ago, and we wouldn't be in this situation now.
Maybe Grayson wouldn't have grown up with a sense of entitlement and a desire for power.
I pushed those thoughts aside and focused on the present. I needed to make sure Grayson knew that he wasn't above the law and that there were consequences for his actions. I would teach him to respect the hierarchy and the pack dynamics.
As we approached the edge of my territory, I could see the familiar sights of my pack's den in the distance. I felt a sense of relief wash over me, knowing that we were almost home.
"Grayson," I said, turning to him as we pulled up to the den. "We're almost there. Let's get out and go inside. We have a lot to discuss."
Grayson looked up at me warily, but he nodded and exited the car. I followed him, eyes scanning the surrounding area to ensure everything was quiet.
I would do whatever it took to ensure our pack thrived and prospered. And I would ensure Grayson learned to be a good leader, not just a power-hungry one.
We entered, and I could feel the eyes of my pack members on us. They knew something was going on, but they didn't know what. I would tell them soon enough.
For now, I just wanted to get Grayson settled in and start teaching him the ways of our pack. It wouldn't be easy, but it was necessary. And maybe, just maybe, he would learn to respect his father and the pack that was his true home.
“Grayson, follow me,” I said and pointed down the corridor which led to my office. Grayson nodded but did not say a word. I thought that perhaps he was processing this sudden change.
I saw my beta at the desk dealing with some necessary paperwork, and he did a double-take when he noticed me walking in with Grayson.
He stood up in an instant, his mouth wide open in disbelief.
“Alpha Theron, what is the meaning of this? Is everything ok?” he stepped away from the desk and approached us. I noticed how he did not take his eyes off Grayson.
“Everything is in order, my beta. Grayson is coming to stay here for a while. He is my son.” I declared.
My beta's eyes widened in surprise, and he stepped back, his eyes darting between Grayson and me. "Your son?" he repeated, his voice low and incredulous. I could sense the shock and disbelief emanating from him, and I knew this would be a challenge.
I nodded, my jaw clenched in determination. "Yes, my son. I know this is a surprise, but everything is controlled. Grayson will be staying here for a while, and I will make sure he learns the ways of our pack."
My beta's gaze lingered on Grayson, and I could sense the scepticism in his eyes. He wondered how this could have happened and what it meant for our pack's dynamics. I knew that it would take some time for him to adjust to this new development, but I was willing to do whatever it took to make it work.
"Very well, Alpha," my beta said finally, his voice firm but cautious. "I will make sure that Grayson is... welcomed into our pack. But I must ask, what does this mean for our relationship with Creek?"
I smiled grimly, my mind racing with the implications. "We will talk about that later," I said. "For now, let's focus on getting Grayson settled in and learning the ways of our pack."
I turned to Grayson, who was watching us with an intense gaze. "Let's get started," I said firmly. "We have a lot to discuss."
