Mated To The Alpha Quadruplets

Chapter 22

Ch. 22 / 76 Mar 09, 2026

Rio’s POV

As the council meeting ended and everyone started to go their separate ways, I grabbed Daniella and led her to the dimly lit corridor, ensuring we moved to a quiet spot where nobody could overhear us. I could not risk our secret being found out. I wanted to protect Creek and the people here. The distant hum of the pack house faded as we found ourselves in the secluded nook, the flickering light barely touching her concerned features.

"Daniella, we have to keep this to ourselves," I warned her, my voice barely above a whisper.

Daniella nodded, her usually vibrant eyes clouded with worry. "But how long can we keep quiet, Rylan? This could change everything for the pack... for all of us." Her voice trembled, betraying the fear she tried so hard to mask. “I hate that omega for what she has done. I don't know what is worse, her escaping so easily or Rylan refusing to accept me.” she pouted her lips and crossed her arms over her chest.

"I know," I said, reaching out to take her hands in mine, seeking solace in her touch. "But think about it. The pack is not ready to face the truth about an omega like her and her traitor ways; it could incite panic or, worse, a war we're not prepared for."

She squeezed my hands, silently acknowledging the weight of our decision. "Okay, but what about the king? Rylan believes this white wolf to be his mate, your mate and the future of our pack. What about Rylan? I can't lose my place as the Luna. Oh my, goddess. If he learns about this..."

Her voice trailed off, but the unfinished thought hung in the air, ominous and heavy. The arrival of the king to the Creek Pack territory was supposed to be a ceremonious event, one that solidified alliances and celebrated our heritage. However, with the hidden truths swirling around us like a whirlpool, his presence felt more like a harbinger of turmoil.

"We assess," I stated, firmness seeping into my voice as I decided. "We observe the king's intentions. The White Wolf can't possibly be royalty? Why would she be roaming the lands alone? It doesn't make any sense, but for now, we will keep it between us. Daniella, I promised you that you would be my mate and Luna, I love you. I don't care what my brothers or anyone say about it.”

Daniella nodded slowly, the gears in her mind turning as she considered our precarious position. "Good. So, Eliza's secret stays with us?"

"Yes," I affirmed, knowing all too well the risks involved. "Protecting Eliza's secret is paramount.“

The responsibility of our secret felt like shackles around my wrists, heavy and cold. Yet, as I looked into Daniella's eyes, I loved her more than anything, and I could and wouldn't let anyone take her from me.

Drawing Daniella close, I kissed her forehead, a seal on our silent vow.

"I love you, Daniella," I whispered against her lips, the confession flowing as freely as the river of our mingled future. "In this life, against all odds, it's you and me."

Her response was a sigh, a whisper, a melody that bound her soul to mine. "And I you, Rio. Together, we'll weather any storm.

"Let's get back before they start to suspect," Daniella whispered, her hand lingering in mine for a moment longer before we stepped out of the shadows and into the light.

“Suspect what exactly?” I whirled around to see my mother standing in the shadows

The icy tone in her voice sent a shiver down my spine, cutting through the warmth that had enveloped Daniella and me just moments before. My mother, with her sharp instincts and even sharper gaze, had caught us in our most vulnerable state. I could see the inquisition in her eyes, the demand for truth that lay behind them.

"Mother," I stammered, struggling to mask the panic that threatened to rise. The secret we harboured was heavy, and the thought of it being exposed prematurely could set off a chain of events we were ill-prepared to handle.

Daniella stepped slightly behind me, her presence a reminder of the pact we shared, the promise to protect not just each other but the delicate balance that held our pack together.

"We were just discussing... pack matters," I offered lamely, knowing full well that the vague statement was as transparent as the clear night sky that enveloped our pack lands.

My mother stepped forward, emerging fully from the shadows, her eyes flicking between Daniella and me. "Pack matters that must be whispered in secluded alcoves away from the ears of your pack, your family?" Her scepticism was evident, echoing the doubts that clouded my thoughts.

I took a deep breath, realising that evasion would only fuel her suspicions. "It's a delicate situation, one that requires careful consideration before we bring it before the council," I said, choosing my words carefully, hoping to convey the seriousness without revealing too much.

“As your mother, you better tell me the truth.” My mother's demand for the truth hung in the air, her growl a reminder of the authority she still commanded, even as I stood on the precipice of leadership. Daniella tensed beside me, the weight of our secret seeming heavier with each passing moment.

I took a steadying breath, meeting my mother's gaze. There would be no appeasing her with half-truths or carefully crafted evasions.

"You're right, Mother," I began, my voice low but steady. "This isn't a mere pack matter. It's a delicate situation that could reverberate through our entire lineage, our way of life."

Mother's eyes narrowed, but she remained silent, waiting for me to continue. I could sense her assessment, her instincts honed over decades of leadership, judging the gravity of my words.

"We've discovered that Eliza, the unmated omega we've sheltered within our pack, has been...consorting with Theron of the Silver Moon Pack.

“Luna Lara, there you are.” Daniella’s beta father appeared, and a look of relief flooded him.

“What is it, Beta?” My mother turned her steely gaze towards Daniella's father as he approached, the tension in the alcove ratcheting up another notch. I felt Daniella tense beside me, no doubt sensing the precariousness of our situation.

"Alpha Morgan requests your presence immediately," he said, eyes flickering between my mother and me, clearly sensing the undercurrent of unease. "There's been a disturbance at the eastern border."

Mother's eyes narrowed, and her instincts as pack leader kicked in. Shooting me a pointed look that said, "This discussion is not over," she turned to address Daniella's father.

"What's the nature of this disturbance?" she demanded, her voice carrying the total weight of her authority.

The beta wolf straightened, responding with the crisp efficiency expected of his rank. "Reports of an intruder, possibly a rogue. There may have been an altercation with the border patrol."
