Camille sat in the backseat, her hands trembling as she held her phone, staring at the cryptic message. The boys were unusually quiet, their minds undoubtedly racing, just like hers. Evelyn drove with a tense calm, her eyes focused on the road ahead. After what had just happened, Camille’s nerves were on edge, and the silence felt like it could shatter at any moment.
When they arrived back at the house, Evelyn motioned for everyone to sit in the living room. The tension in the air was thick, as if they were all waiting for something to happen. Camille could feel Noah’s eyes on her, but she avoided his gaze, her mind still replaying the chaos of the night.
Evelyn finally broke the silence. “If Ava is hurt, Bianca is in jail, and Victor is dead… then who could still be sending these messages?” Her voice was firm, but there was an edge of uncertainty beneath it.
Camille swallowed, her voice shaky as she replied, “That means… there’s still one more person out there, playing this twisted game. Someone we haven’t seen yet. Someone who knows everything.”
The boys exchanged uneasy glances, trying to make sense of it all. Leo ran a hand through his hair in frustration. “But who could it be? We thought Bianca and Ava were behind everything.”
Matthew leaned forward, his brow furrowed. “Maybe there’s someone we’ve overlooked. Someone who’s been pulling the strings all along.”
Evelyn’s face darkened as she considered the possibility. “Whoever it is, they know far too much about us and what’s going on. It’s like they’ve been watching us this whole time.”
Camille felt her chest tighten with anxiety. “What are they playing at? What do they want?”
Before Evelyn could respond, a soft chime echoed through the room. Camille’s phone had buzzed again. She looked down at it, her heart sinking as she read the new message:
We want Victor’s will. Everything belongs to us now. If Evelyn doesn’t sign over his entire estate, things will get worse.
