Derek's POV
"Don't go!" Black Fox roared hoarsely, but that boy couldn't hear him at all.
I smiled lightly, but my heart remained cold. "What a pure and sunny child. He was orphaned at a young age, not even knowing you are still alive, yet always facing every day positively. Such a child is going to be in danger just because of you. It's really hard."
Black Fox's eyes turned scarlet, no longer as calm as before.
He cursed at me angrily, "Come at me if you have anything. I'll take whatever you've got. He has no idea about any of this!"
I grabbed his collar and sneered, "Then why didn't you come at me? Why did you harm a child? My son should have known all about this? Isn't it too hollow to say it now? Tabitha was pregnant, how did you treat her in the pouring rain? Why should I be merciful when you hurt other's families without any hesitation?"
Black Fox licked his dry lips, clearly realizing that this was their fault. He had no room to defend himself.
"I'm begging you, spare him, please."
"I can spare him, but you have to show your sincerity. Tell me the truth, and I will let him go. Otherwise, he won't see the sun tomorrow."
"Of course, you can also continue to remain silent. There's no wall that can't be breached by wind. I will eventually find that person. It will just take more time. Your fate is already sealed. Do you want to risk your brother's life?"
Black Fox was silent, obviously very torn internally.
At that moment, besides the rapid footsteps, there were also voices of conversation coming from the phone.
The man was talking about his sister's situation.
The teenager said in surprise: "So we are from the same school! Who is she? Let me see if I know her."
"Selena."
"It's Selena..."
"Hey, did you know her?"
"She..." The teenager hesitated, "She just confessed to me the other day, and I rejected her."
"No wonder I saw your photos all over the house. Why? What's wrong with her? Why did you reject her?"
"You misunderstood. It's not that there's anything wrong with her. It's me. I've been orphaned since I was young, and my brother disappeared many years ago. I have no interest in dating other than studying. I want to go to college. That was my brother's dream when he was young. I want to find him there. If I really agreed, that would be irresponsible to her."
The boy's voice was gentle, and there was more moisture in Black Fox's eyes.
His eyes began to blink uncontrollably. I knew this was the beginning of the drug taking effect.
Next, all the pictures of his past would flash through his mind at a high speed. He would not be able to control his emotions.
They had already reached the rooftop. The footsteps became more urgent. The boy still naively said, "But I will definitely persuade her well, not to take this path."
"Bang!" The door to the rooftop opened.
Black Fox's expression also became more tense. I could see he was trying hard to control his emotions.
But it was useless.
He showed a puzzled expression.
I think he finally understood why I didn't physically torture him. The pain of the spirit far exceeds that of the body.
The sound of the wind mixed with the teenager's voice came, "Hey, you might be wrong. There's no one up here."
"Perhaps she's on the platform ahead. Go over there and take a look. That girl is stubborn." The man's voice was like a devil, coaxing step by step.
Black Fox's expression was obviously extremely nervous.
"No, don't!" His body could no longer support him, so he slowly knelt.
I looked down at him coldly, "You have ten seconds. Whether he lives or dies, it's all on you."
"Ten..."
