Third person's POV
This man matched the description of Adrian given by Black Fox.
Derek raised his eyebrows slightly. His face was disguised with a beard, making him unrecognizable from his usual demeanor.
With a flick of his wrist, he scattered the chips beside him and replied with a ruffian's swagger, "Let's do it."
Adrian, though ordinary in appearance, had eyes that spun like a rat's.
Upon hearing Derek's response, a slight curve involuntarily lifted the corners of his mouth.
A glint of shrewdness crossed his eyes, signaling that the fish had taken the bait.
His gaze fell on the chips in front of Derek, "However, sir, these chips might not be enough."
Alvin boasted, "My boss has plenty of money. Just lead the way."
Adrian, seeing this, knew he had another big fish. Today would be a profitable one.
He said, "Let me take you to exchange for thirty million in chips," and then led them downstairs.
The deeper the floor, the fewer people there were, and the more private and high-stakes the games became.
Alvin warned, "There are no cameras here, right? A little gambling is fun. But if my boss's families find out about the big bets, it'll be bad."
Adrian, looking at the man dressed in gold and silver, knew he was dealing with a rich second-generation.
Money from such people was the easiest to earn.
He quickly responded, "Don't worry. The next floor has no cameras. You will have a great time here."
With a wave of his hand, he summoned two women with curvy figures, pretty faces, and provocative clothing.
"They are our luckiest girls here. Would you need any company?" Adrian asked.
The two women were about to cling to Derek when he said coldly, "Get away. I'm not interested."
They retreated meekly, and Derek snorted, "I'm here to win money, not to mess around with women."
"I get it. This way, please," Adrian nodded with a smile, gesturing for Derek to follow.
The elevator door opened to reveal heavy security inside.
Adrian reminded them, "Please wait here. According to the rules, only guests are allowed in."
Rolf wanted to say something more.
Derek gave him a look to stop him, grumbling discontentedly, "What a hassle."
"Apologies, Sir. But these are the rules." Adrian said, carrying the chips for Derek.
Derek played with the ring on his finger and casually asked, "There really are no cameras here? I don't want any footage leaking and being seen by my family."
"Sir, rest assured. May I have your name?"
"Bartholomew."
"It's a rare name. From your accent, you don't seem to be from around here."
"Are you FBI?"
"No, no. Just that you look a bit unfamiliar, Sir. Where do you usually play?"
Compared to Black Fox, Adrian was a master at extracting information with every word.
He brought Derek only to the third basement floor. The real big shots were on lower floors.
Clearly, he wanted to test Derek's financial strength and extract his information.
Unfortunately, Derek was not here for the bets but for Adrain.
"Where is the restroom?"
"Over here."
After confirming there were no cameras, Derek had already got in touch with Alvin.
"Damn it, there's no toilet paper here."
"Sir, just a moment," Adrian chirped, handing over the toilet paper. In an instant, his elbow was grabbed.
His reflexes were quick, and he immediately struggled.
Derek was prepared, and with his immense strength, he quickly subdued Adrian.
Adrian tried to call for help, but Derek pinned his hands behind his back and pressed a weapon to his forehead, whispering, "Behave, don't move."
