Third person's POV
Derek hurried through the night, not feeling any bit of fatigue despite the late hour.
The thought of capturing the culprit and living happily with Tabitha spurred him on to rush to Seaside Road as quickly as possible.
Cars sped through the darkness. Dozens of vehicles were on the way, along with hundreds of people, had already surrounded the entire villa, leaving no way out.
Derek stepped out of the car in haste and ran towards the villa.
The salty sea breeze carried the scent of vegetation and the tang of blood. Derek's men were everywhere he looked.
"How's it going?" Derek asked anxiously.
Spike emerged from the crowd and said, "Alpha Derek, Bloodrose was injured and jumped into the sea in desperation. Rolf has already taken people to pursue him."
Derek frowned. With such thorough preparations, how could there still be accidents?
"Take me there."
Fate was indeed a cycle. Last time, it was Tabitha who had no choice but to jump into the sea. This time, it was his turn.
"Did anyone see what he looked like?" Derek asked.
Spike pursed his lips, his face a bit ugly. "We've been wrong all along. Bloodrose is not a man, but a woman."
"A woman?"
"Yes, I don't know if it's an illusion. But I think her silhouette is somewhat similar to..."
"Similar to what?"
"Elena's silhouette."
Derek's face changed dramatically. "What are you saying?"
"Of course, I'm not saying she is Elena. But judging from height and build, they are quite similar. We didn't see her face."
Derek's fists clenched, veins bulging on the back of his hands.
He closed his eyes. His mind was filled with the scene of their last parting in the mountains.
Elena had her back to him, telling him to pretend she didn't exist, that she couldn't turn back.
But why?
She used to hide by his side, always protecting him as a cleaning lady.
If she was the one behind all this, how could she want to kill him too?
Derek's subconscious felt that Elena wouldn't do such a thing. But from a motive perspective, Elena also had reasons to do so.
She hated Tabitha and maybe even turned her love for him into hatred.
Was it really her?
Under the vast night, Derek gazed at the distant sea, which swallowed everything like a monster.
Derek's heart felt like a hole had been dug out, empty.
He had thought the mastermind was related to Tabitha's family. Could it be that he had been investigating in the wrong direction from the start?
***
A new day dawned, with the sun shining brightly. Today was Alpha Elliott's birthday banquet. All the Omegas had been busy since early morning.
Tabitha didn't sleep well last night, not knowing whether it was because she was worried about Derek or if Zander's words had made her uneasy.
Her abdomen had been aching intermittently throughout the night.
She thought she couldn't wait any longer. After Alpha Elliott's birthday banquet, she must have a detailed examination.
As the sun rose, her face looked a bit haggard. She could only cover the dark circles under her eyes with foundation.
She looked at her phone, still finding no calls or messages from Derek.
Wasn't he coming back today?
Compared to Tabitha's worries, Andrea seemed carefree and at ease.
She had already changed into a dress, her black hair coiled up and adorned with beautiful hair accessories.
Andrea, with her slender figure, looked as beautiful and moving as a goddess from Greek mythology in a dress.
She had a light grace and extraordinary temperament, making it hard to imagine that she was the mother of two grown-ups.
She wasn't wearing any overly extravagant gowns. But Tabitha had a feeling that Andrea, who had given up on Ambrose, was even more stunning.
