Third person's POV
"Dad, there are so many people around. Don't make a scene, or we'll be a laughing stock."
Zander chimed in at the right moment, "Grandpa, since you don't seem to like me much, my mom and I won't stay here to be a nuisance. Just hope you won't regret this later. Mom, let's go."
This statement was obviously a threat.
Ambrose grabbed both of their hands. "Today, as long as I'm here, I won't let you leave. Dad, the whole thing started because of her. Is it really that hard for her to apologize?"
"I think the person who should apologize is not her but Zander."
A gentle voice sounded from the crowd.
Tabitha felt the voice sounded familiar, and when she turned to look, it was indeed the person she had met briefly at the airport before, Orson.
Beside him stood a woman, holding his hand, seemingly not wanting him to get involved in the Greenwood family's domestic affairs.
Undeterred by authority, Orson walked over calmly.
As a doctor, his first concern was Tabitha. He asked, "Are you alright?"
It had been nearly two years since they last saw each other, parting in that winter.
He wondered how Tabitha's physical condition was and if she had her wolfsbane situation under control.
Even after treatment and suppression, this kind of wolfsbane could still put a werewolf's health in critical condition.
Plus, considering the wound was in the abdomen, there was a chance that the wolfsbane could have spread throughout the body via the bloodstream.
He noticed that Tabitha didn't look well and that was why he asked.
Tabitha forced herself to perk up and said, "I'm fine. Thank you for your concern."
"You are always so stubborn. After this, go to the hospital and get checked out," Orson kindly reminded.
Zander caught the exchange between them and wasted no time stirring up trouble again.
"Who is this? Tabitha, Derek hasn't even been gone a few days, and you're already looking for a new guy?"
Orson, with a gentle demeanor, spoke in a calm and unhurried voice, "Mr. Greenwood, nice to meet you. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm a doctor. I already have a fiancée, and I'm here today accompanying her to this banquet. I hope you'll be more mindful of your words. We're all adults here. A conversation doesn't imply an affair. Tabitha is a younger schoolmate of mine and also my patient. We were friends back in Seattle."
After explaining the situation, Orson continued, "This is your family matter, and I wouldn't normally interfere, but your behavior is really over the top. I can't just stand by and do nothing. By the way, my fiancée was filming the architecture of the hall just now, and she happened to catch the whole thing when you splashed water on Tabitha. If you don't want me to make that footage public, I'd suggest you apologize to Tabitha sincerely, not just to stir up more trouble."
Zander didn't expect an obstacle to pop up out of nowhere. If what Orson said got exposed, his reputation would be completely ruined.
But if he were to apologize, wouldn't it be equivalent to admitting that he was the one in the wrong?
Zander looked at Orson with a cold gaze and said, "Since you know this is our family matter, you should keep your mouth shut."
Orson remained composed. "It seems like you had no intention of apologizing."
He took out his phone, and a flicker of guilt crossed Zander's face. "You wouldn't dare!"
"Mr. Greenwood, you can give it a shot and see if I dare!"
The onlookers were all thrilled. It looked like this was some big news! Or maybe it was big news with a twist.
Everyone was dying to know what happened and why Tabitha got so mad that she splashed water on Zander.
Orson had been holding back down there for ages, and he had reached his breaking point now.
Ignoring Zander's threat, he directly clicked on the video, turning the picture and sound to the maximum.
Zander's teasing voice echoed through the hall. "Tabitha, you may seem cold on the outside, but you've got quite a temper. It makes me wonder, are you this much of a contradiction in bed too?"
Boom!
Everyone was stunned. This was totally sexual harassment! And he did it to his sister-in-law. Was he some kind of creep?
