Andrea's POV
The management of the Greenwood Group underwent a seismic shift.
That day, as Zander walked out of the study with Truman following behind, his expression was more than triumphant.
However, I was suddenly entangled in this complicated love triangle.
I didn't even have time to care about Zander.
Phoebe started causing trouble. And Ambrose, for the sake of his so-called machismo, gripped my hand tightly.
In a fit of pique, I slapped Ambrose hard across the face.
Ambrose was stunned. "You're getting bold, aren't you?" he hissed.
This act instantly infuriated Phoebe, who charged at me like a protective mother, viciously attacking me.
The house immediately turned into chaos, with the two of us pulling each other's hair, and the servants not daring to come and help either of us.
Only Jenny reacted swiftly, rushing over and throwing Phoebe to the ground.
Phoebe cried out in pain, and the scene was utterly chaotic.
It wasn't until Zander appeared that we both stopped. "Ms. Sarat, apologize to my mom, please," he demanded.
I was still tidying my hair, which had been disheveled by Phoebe, when I heard this. Then I slowly looked up at Zander.
I rarely saw him, and my impression of him was still of a child hiding behind Phoebe.
Looking up, Zander's face, which bore a resemblance to Derek's, carried a cold, feminine malice. He appeared just like his mother, akin to a venomous snake.
"Apologize? Why would I?" I patted my skirt, nonchalantly responding.
Zander first pulled Phoebe behind him to comfort her before turning to face me again. "Ms. Sarat, there's a term called 'self-awareness'. I admire your unwavering dedication to love and feel regret for you. It's impressive that you're able to love a guy who has no feelings for you for so many years. However..."
His tone turned cold as he added, "People live for dignity. I didn't want to say anything excessive out of respect. But you've occupied this position for so many years, subjecting my mom to years of gossip. Today, shouldn't you understand your place?"
Zander's words were really outrageous, making both Ambrose and me frown.
"Zander..." Ambrose warned, "Is that how you speak to your elder?"
Zander smiled, "Dad, don't you love Mom the most? Why, after this woman has bullied her for so many years, I just said a few words about her, and you can't bear it? Or is your sincerity towards Mom fake?"
"Honey!" Phoebe exclaimed.
Ambrose quickly pulled her into his arms, comforting her as he denied, "Nonsense! I'm just afraid people will think our family lacks manners."
"Dad, you're overthinking. She said much worse things to Mom before. I'm just returning the favor. Besides, Alpha Elliott has already agreed to let me officially become a member of the Black Thorn Pack."
I knew Alpha Elliott too well. Both he and Ambrose were stubborn. And they never compromised or admitted defeat.
But how did Zander manage to convince Alpha Elliott in such a short time in the study?
"Really?" Ambrose's face was clearly full of doubt.
"Of course. If you don't believe me, you can ask Truman. By the way, Mom, didn't you always want to move in? Go ahead and choose your room. We can move in today."
The sudden change left both Ambrose and me bewildered. He looked at Truman, who indeed showed no signs of refusal, indicating that Zander was telling the truth.
"Do we really get to move in?" he asked with hesitation.
"Yes." Truman nodded.
I frowned slightly, wondering in confusion, "Could it be that Alpha Elliott has softened?"
