Tabitha's POV
Facing my questioning, Zander's eyes and brows were filled with the smile of success, like a werewolf warrior who had finally won a battle and avenged his honor.
"Tabitha, don't worry. Derek and I share the same blood. I wouldn't hurt him. I went there to save him, but he was severely injured and is still being treated."
Zander exuded the unique scent of a werewolf, a mix of wildness and strength.
"What happened to him? Where is he now?"
Alpha Elliott fiddled with a pen in his hand, and his brow furrowed in concern.
"You say he's in your place, where's the proof?"
Zander took out his phone and played a few seconds of video.
In the video, a man lay on a hospital bed, seemingly being resuscitated.
He wore a breathing mask, surrounded by doctors. It was discernible as Derek.
As a werewolf, Derek possessed strong regenerative abilities. But he appeared so weak at the moment, indicating the severity of his injuries.
"How is he now?"
"After the resuscitation, he's out of danger. You can rest assured of that. Derek is an important chip in my hand. I won't let anything happen to him," Zander said, taking control of the situation and dropping any pretense.
"And you want me to believe you only by this video?"
"Of course, you can choose not to believe me. But since you're unwilling to acknowledge me as part of the Black Thorn Pack, then he's not my family anymore. If the doctors don't do their best, don't blame me, Alpha Elliott." A hint of fierceness flashed in Zander's eyes, like a wolf on guard against an enemy.
"You brat," Alpha Elliott grabbed his collar, his face full of anger.
The former leader's strength flared up in an instant. But Zander was not willing to back down, his werewolf blood surging within him.
Yet, Zander remained calm, "Alpha Elliott, don't be angry. It's bad for your health if you get too upset. I don't want it to be like this, but you just won't acknowledge me. I just want to take back what's rightfully mine."
Truman and I hurried forward to persuade Alpha Elliott, fearing he might get too angry.
"Grandpa, please sit down and catch your breath. We can discuss this matter slowly. As long as Derek is alive, that's what matters."
"Yeah, Alpha Elliott, you must take care of your health."
Alpha Elliott gasped for air, finally stabilizing his emotions, "Let me see him."
"That's not possible. If you knew where he was, I would lose my trump card. As long as you publicly acknowledge my identity at your birthday party, I will naturally let you see Derek."
Alpha Elliott stared at him fiercely, "You are indeed just like your mother, full of ambition."
Zander didn't get angry but smiled, "For the Black Thorn Pack, the Alpha must be ruthless, right?"
Alpha Elliott could only temporarily agree to his demands. After all, if what he said was true and Derek's life hung in the balance, it's not the time to argue now.
Having received the expected response, Zander's mouth curled up, "Thank you, Alpha Elliott. That's it. We are family. We should have been like this a long time ago. So, if my parents and I move back, you won't object, right?"
Alpha Elliott suppressed his anger, "Do as you want. I have agreed to your terms. I want to see more videos of Derek and preferably have a Facetime with him."
"Derek has just had surgery and hasn't woken up. It's impossible for him to Facetime you, but I can send more videos of his. I'll have someone send them over shortly."
"Alpha Elliott, you don't look well. Would you like me to help you back to rest?"
"No need!"
"Alright, I have a lot to do anyway and no time to accompany you. Truman, have three rooms prepared." Zander arrogantly instructed.
Truman glanced at Alpha Elliott and, with a sigh, said, "Okay."
"Please address me properly next time. Call me Mr. Greenwood."
In the world of werewolves, an Omega must obey the commands of their superiors.
