Third person's POV
Andrea had picked out a dress for Tabitha. Different from her dark green gown, Tabitha's was a moonlight white, complemented by Australian white pearls and the exclusive bracelet of the Greenwood family's leading lady. Tabitha looked like a gorgeous and prosperous flower blooming among the people in it.
It was Phoebe's first time attending the Greenwood family's dinner for the first time as the hostess.
Her attire was like that of a jewelry spokesperson as if she was afraid others wouldn't know she was rich.
She wished she could have more necks and wrists to show off all her jewelry and flaunt her wealth.
Although the Greenwood family hadn't officially announced anything, the upper-class circles were already abuzz with the news.
After being abandoned, Andrea had stayed with the Greenwood family. And now that Alpha Elliott was getting on in years, he couldn't help but worry about his son.
Thus, Phoebe was finally accepted.
Andrea was indeed Ambrose's officially announced wife, but so what?
After years of contention, she ended up being the one abandoned.
While Andrea hadn't made her appearance yet, the hall had already gathered quite a few people with ulterior motives.
Phoebe was surrounded by all. Although the Greenwoods hadn't officially recognized her, she had always used the title of the Greenwoods' leading lady in her relationships.
In the past, people wouldn't say anything but only mock her behind her back as a lover who could never be acknowledged.
Now that Phoebe had been entirely accepted, she felt vindicated.
Even those who had looked down on her before had to sincerely admit that she had finally made it after all these years.
"Mrs. Greenwood, how do you maintain your skin? You don't look like someone who's aged at all. We all look like old. Even an iron can't smooth out our wrinkles."
Phoebe smiled so widely her mouth couldn't close. "Madam, you are too modest. It's not that exaggerated. In fact, I just keep a good mood and exercise regularly, so my complexion naturally looks good. I don't like to do those medical beautifications. Too many injections make the face stiff."
"Exactly. Mrs. Greenwood is naturally beautiful and has Ambrose's love. He has loved you for so many years. You are really lucky. Unlike us, who are not loved, we can only rely on medical skills to maintain ourselves."
"Speaking of which, Mrs. Greenwood has not had it easy. She married Ambrose long ago but was held back by someone for so many years."
"His ex-wife is just a madwoman. She always threatens suicide. If there's no love, what's the use of crying and making a scene? I don't think she'll come to an occasion like today."
"If she does come, she'll only be annoying. It's been more than twenty years. No one knows what she's turned herself into. She probably can't even compare to Mrs. Greenwood at all."
The more they spoke ill, the smugger Phoebe became.
She had waited for this day for so many years.
Faced with everyone's compliments, she felt it was all worth it.
From now on, no one would mock her origins or her methods.
Only the victors have the right to start a new chapter. She would become the object of everyone's envy and admiration.
As everyone was talking, the protagonist of today, Alpha Elliott, finally made his appearance.
He looked a bit haggard as if he hadn't rested well these days. His spirit was feeble, sitting in a wheelchair.
On his left and right stood two women. The one in a green dress was Andrea, and the one in a white dress was Tabitha.
Tabitha and Andrea had completely different looks, but each had their own beauty.
They were like the bright moon in the sky, hanging high, making people dare not approach easily.
Those who had been clamoring about whether Andrea had become a madwoman shut up one by one.
Andrea was still almost the same as in memory. Time seemed to be particularly kind to this beauty.
In addition to her unique temperament, Andrea was dazzlingly beautiful.
Standing together with Tabitha, they were like a pair of sisters with different styles, making people's eyes unable to leave them.
Standing at a distance, Ambrose and Zander turned their heads. Their gazes fell on the two, and almost simultaneously, a flash of amazement appeared in their eyes.
