I Had A Dream
"What happened to Jason?" Julia asked sitting up immediately on the bed.
"Ms Julia, he is in the hospital?" Mary announced and continued with the call.
"Did he come to see Julia?" asked Peter.
"Yes, he was here hours ago," Mary replied and Julia got up from the bed and took the phone from her.
"What happened to Jason?" Julia asked anxiously.
"Not sure but he is here at the hospital. Please, I need you to tell me what happened when he came around," Peter asked.
"Which hospital? I want to come over," Julia said.
"She wants to come over but I am not sure of her safety. Especially when Mrs Haward is after her," Peter complained to Dr Andesh and Mr Wellington.
"I will have someone pick her up, give me her address," requested Dr Andesh.
"Julia, kindly send me your address, someone will come to pick you up," Peter said to Julia.
"Okay," Julia replied and sent her address to Peter quickly.
"Ms Julia, what did they say is wrong with Mr Haward," Mary asked seeing the call had ended.
"They don't know yet," Julia replied still thinking about Jason. "If he had an accident, they would have told her," she thought wondering what could have happened.
Julia changed her clothes into simple jeans trousers and a top. She tied her hair up into a pony and grabbed a flat shoe as soon as Mary left her room. She also exited the room after dressing up.
"I will be back," Julia said to Mary as she looked outside for any ride entering her compound.
Dr Andesh sent one of her men with Julia's phone number and address to go pick Julia up. While the driver was on his way to pick Julia up, back in the Hawards' apartment, Mori, Mrs Haward and James were inside the study finding a solution to the problem James had created.
"You are so lucky she is still alive," commented Mrs Haward. "So what are we going to do?" she asked Mori.
"This is what I have in mind. We need to find a way to get that video from her friend," Mori said and turned to James.
"I need you to send a message to her friend pretending to be Fiona. Let her know you will come around later. Wait, write this; You almost got me caught. James is sleeping. I will reach out later. Send her this message" Mori said.
"I have a medication that will make Fiona forget everything that happened just now. If we keep giving it to her, she will forget everything completely and we can use her to retrieve the video from her friend," Mori suggested.
"How are we going to use her to get the video back if she forgets everything? It will mean she will not remember her friend right?" asked Mrs Haward.
"Leave that to me," Mori said with a smile.
"You see the mess you created with your lack of self-control? Have you sent the message?" asked Mrs Haward.
"Her phone is password protected," James reported.
"So what do you really know how to do?" Mrs Haward yelled, grabbed her phone and called one of the guards to come up to the study.
"She could wake up any moment, let me go give her the medication," Mori said and exited the study leaving James and Mrs Haward in the study.
"Go get me her phone," yelled Mrs Haward and James exited the study and headed for Fiona's room.
James knocked once and entered the room. Mori was already done with administering the medication and was putting her stuff back into her bag.
"She wasn't pregnant, was she?" James asked picking up Fiona's phone.
"No, she wasn't," replied Mori who started walking away from her bed.
"Now listen carefully, by the time she wakes up, she will not remember anything that transpired in the last twenty-four hours. Act normal, keep her phone away from her and just tell her she fell in the bath and bumped her head. I will continue feeding her the medication and she will be ready for us to execute our plan. Keep your head out of the clouds and hands off her," Mori said explaining things to James with a warning before leaving the room.
James also exited the room a few minutes after Mori had and he ran into Veronica at the door.
"Sorry, sir, I came to ask Ms Fiona what she would like for supper, it's almost dusk," Veronica said.
"Mori is her nurse and she will take care of her food. So why don't you ask Mori, moving forward and let Fiona rest," James said and Veronica nodded leaving the place back to the kitchen.
James left the place and went back to the study. He found his mum and one of the guards in the study.
"Help me unlock that phone," Mrs Haward said to the guard and he nodded receiving the phone from James.
In less than thirty seconds, the phone was unlocked and he handed it back to James.
"Please it's done. Is there anything else you would like me to do for you?" the guard inquired.
"That will be all," dismissed Mrs Haward.
James sat on the sofa typing the message to send to Vera.
At the hospital, the car drove into the compound and Julia got out of the car without waiting for the man who had come to pick her up from her apartment. All through the journey she only had one thought on her mind, Jason. The man sent a message to Dr Andesh informing her of Julia's arrival so by the time Julia got to the reception, Dr Andesh was already there.
"Hello, you must be Ms Julia. I am Dr Andesh. I am the one who had Mr Peter call you," Dr Andesh said and Julia turned to face her.
"What happened to Jason?" Julia asked.
"That is what we are hoping you could fill us with," Dr Andesh replied staring at Julia and reading her reactions.
"Me? He was okay when he left my apartment," Julia reported sounding worried.
"Walk with me," said Dr Andesh and Julia nodded.
"So what happened when he came around, did you guys fight?" Dr Andesh asked.
"No, not really," Julia replied not sure how to put it. "He came to apologise and, and he asked me to come back home and I said no," she replied and Dr Andesh frowned.
Dr Andesh didn't know about Jason's childhood incident but she did know Jason couldn't stand women getting close to him.
"I see," Dr Andesh acknowledged already concluding what could have happened to Jason.
She now needs the EKG test results to confirm.
"Can I see him?" Julia asked and Dr Andesh agreed and she led Julia to Jason's ward.
Julia walked in and saw the two men, Peter and the stranger who looked like Jason except older. She stood there a bit shocked as she stared at Mr Wellington who remained silent but only for a while.
"I am Jason's biological father," Mr Wellington introduced himself breaking the long silence.
"Nice to meet you," Julia acknowledged and turned her gaze to Jason taking slow steps towards his bed.
Mr Wellington got up from the seat and offered it to Julia. She sat down forgetting to say thank you as her eyes were still glued to Jason. She held Jason's hand in hers and her tears started flowing down her face.
"I am so sorry Jason. I didn't mean any of the things I said to you. Please don't leave me. I can't live without you," Julia cried holding Jason's hand in hers.
"Jason, I don't want to lose you again. I love you," Julia said and placed her head on his chest as her tears continued to stream down her face soaking the cloth used to cover Jason's body halfway.
Dr Andesh, Peter and Mr Wellington stood almost together just a distance away from the foot of the bed watching the two. Julia felt a gentle squeeze of her hand and she lifted her head from Jason's chest.
"Jason?" Julia called out to him making Dr Andesh move a little closer to see what was happening.
Jason opened his eyes and it was Julia's smiling and tear-stained face that he saw. Raising his other hand he cupped the side of her face, wiping her tears with his thumb.
"I love you more," Jason confessed and Julia hugged him.
Dr Andesh moved closer to examine Jason. Peter and Mr Wellington were both shocked but happy Jason was awake.
"Can I have a moment with my wife?" Jason requested in a low voice upon seeing Dr Andesh and she nodded.
They all exited the room leaving the two alone.
"I had a dream," Jason said to Julia with a smile.
"What is it about?" Julia asked also smiling but her tears won't stop flowing down her face.
"It was you. I saw you walking towards me and I heard your voice. I wanted to see if it was you so I opened my eyes and it was really you," Jason said and Julia smiled.
"I am sorry Julia for putting you through all that," Jason began but received a kiss from Julia.
Jason kissed Julia back wrapping his arms around her.
