Find her now!! - Part 2

Mirenda started screaming and running after the ride but it quickly hit the road and was gone. She grabbed her face wondering if she should call the police or call Jason. With trembling hands, she dialled Jason's number and brought the phone to her ears.

"Jason, please pick up, pick up," Mirenda said as she paced up and down waiting for the call to connect.

She stopped in her steps and remembered Jason was on the altar with Henry, there was no way he would have his phone with him. She ended the redialed and called Peter instead. The call was answered after two rings

"Hello Peter, where is Jason?" Mirenda asked.

"Inside the church, why?" Peter asked suspecting something was wrong as he stood just a couple of distances away from the chapel entrance.

He was the last to leave home as he was taking care of some work stuff.

"Julia, Julia...." Mirenda said but was not sure how to complete her statement.

"What happened to Ms Harrison?" Peter asked.

"A car went away with her," Mirenda said.

"What do you mean a car went away with......" Peter asked but paused in his statement and his eyes widened. "Kidnapped?" he asked.

"I don't know but she's been taken," Mirenda reported.

"O Lord, I am coming," Peter said and ended the call.

Peter thought for a moment, wondering if he should just run into the chapel and tell Jason or tell Mr Wellington. He decided to tell Mr Wellington. He entered the chapel looking at the well-decorated church. The ground floor only had Dr Andesh, Mr Wellington, Sam and Andrew sitting down on the provided seats everyone else was sent to the upper floor. Jason saw Peter enter the chapel and walked to Mr Wellington with a worried expression. He immediately suspected something had happened. He watched Mr Wellington waiting to confirm his suspicion from his reaction. Mr Wellington, widening his eyes and moving his gaze quickly to look at Peter after he had whispered something into his ears, made Jason confirm something was definitely wrong. Jason walked towards them ignoring Henry who was asking him 'Where he was going?'

"What happened?" Jason asked, his voice deep and terrifying.

"Not sure but Ms Harrison has been taken," Peter announced.

"What!" exclaimed Dr Andesh.

Mr Wellington got up and Henry who was following Jason stopped briefly upon hearing what Peter had just said. The church was thrown into a state of confusion as the people were wondering why the groom moved away from the altar and why the family on the ground floor were all standing up. One of the altar-serving boys walked towards them to understand what was happening.

"We have a situation, this wedding is postponed," Peter said to him as Jason and Mr Wellington were already heading out of the chapel with Dr Andesh and Henry following them.

Outside Jason angrily kicked a flower vase hurting his foot in the process but he didn't care. He saw Peter walking out of the chapel as he was waiting for his keys to move any of the cars.

"Where are the keys, dammit!" yelled Jason. "My wife is missing and you are walking? You should be running," he yelled at Peter, his face red with anger.

"I ....I....." Peter began but the words won't come out seeing the terrifying face of Jason.

"What are you doing? Find her now!!!" Jason yelled and Peter got into one of the cars and moved not sure where he was going to start his search.

Jason paced up and down restlessly as his father and Dr Andesh were already on their phones making calls. Jason couldn't make any calls as he didn't have his phone with him. He pulled Henry into one of the parked cars and asked him to drive to the nearest police station.

"Who could have done this and why?" Henry asked calmly starting the car engine.

"Don't ask silly questions, you already know the answer," retorted Jason.

"Your stepmother?" Henry asked looking at Jason surprised.

"Drive!!" yelled Jason and Henry quickly moved the car realizing it wasn't a good time to speak to Jason.

"Get me everything that happened at the beauty shop," ordered Mr Wellington and he sat in the car with Dr Andesh driving out of the church compound. "Let's go to the shop," he ordered and the driver moved in that direction.

"Should I call Jason," Dr Andesh asked.

"No, wait a while. He is hurting inside. His therapist is with him. He will take care of him. What you and I need to do now before the animal in Jason is unleashed is find Julia ASAP," Mr Wellington said and Dr Andesh nodded in response.

Mr Wellington's phone rang and he quickly answered as they made a turn towards the shop where the incident had happened.

"Yes," Mr Wellington said.

"Sir, it appears the ride that took her belongs to Benjamin Taga," the caller announced.

"Mr Taga?" Mr Wellington repeated to confirm if he had heard right.

"Yes sir," replied Mr Wellington's guard from the other end of the phone.

"Alright," Mr Wellington ended the call and asked the driver to head for Mr Taga's apartment.

"Mr Taga took her?" Dr Andesh asked.

"That is what we are going to find out," replied Mr Wellington.

Meanwhile, back at the shop, Mirenda had called the police to the scene. She was sitting down at the beauty shop reception with tissue in hand as she dried her tears. The police had already asked her multiple questions and they were now taking information from the security man who managed to pick up the car number of the car which had taken Julia.

Jason and Henry drove into the police station compound and Jason got out of the car ignoring Henry's reminder of the media that could gather at the station any moment if anyone saw him but Jason didn't care about that. His focus was on finding Julia as he took long strides towards the police reception.

"My wife is missing," Jason said upon reaching the counter.

"Okay sir, what happened?" asked the officer and Jason's face turned darker.

The temperature in the room quickly dropped to a freezing point making everyone including Henry within a certain perimeter quiver.

"I will get my boss," replied the officer who knew better not to further ask the devil staring at him any question.

The officer went inside and returned with another officer. He saw Jason and quickened his steps.

"Mr Haward, please come to my office," the officer in-charge invited and Jason obliged with Henry following him into the general's office.

"What can I do for you?" the in-charge asked.

"We have reasons to believe Ms Julia, his wife has been kidnapped," Henry replied.

"Do you have a suspect in mind," the in-charge asked and Jason opened his mouth but closed it immediately. He stood to his feet and headed for the door.

"His stepmother," replied Henry as he equally got up following Jason but before he could get to Jason, he was already behind the wheel driving out.

"Mr Haward!!!" Henry yelled but Jason was already heading towards the street leaving Henry behind.

Henry stood there looking at the back of the car in frustration unsure of what to do.

Meanwhile, back at the chapel, the church was in a state of confusion as everyone was now out of the church auditorium murmuring among themselves The commotion had already started drawing media attention as a few reporters entered the compound and started interviewing some of the members at the scene trying to get information on what was happening.

"I am not sure but I saw everyone moving out of the church. The bride is not here and the groom and his family left the church," replied someone who had come for the wedding.

"It appears the bride didn't want the wedding," replied another.

"How did you come by this information?" asked the reporter.

"That is easy to deduce. The groom and his best man walking out of the church looking angry together with his family obviously says the bride refused to go through with the wedding," the man explained.

In a matter of minutes, the news was all around social media with headlines like;

The bride runs away on the wedding day

Wedding day disaster

Is this a forced marriage?

Is Jason in the news again, his bride leaves him on the altar

These were the posted headlines on social media which soon became the most searched.

"Wow, sure looks like Jason's life is full of problems," came one commenter on a popular platform.

"Awww, Jason my man, I will not leave you on the altar," commented a fan.

"Does his stepmother have a hand in this?" questioned a commenter.

"But why will someone leave such a handsome man on the altar? He is not just handsome but rich and powerful. I will stay in the church overnight if I have to just to marry him," came a fan.

"Ungrateful people always get their punishment. How can you do that to the woman who raised you and the brother who supported you," commented an anti-fan.

Peter's phone rang and he quickly answered.

"Hello Henry," Peter said.

"Mr Haward took off," Henry reported.

"Why is all this happening now? The social media platforms are already going crazy," Peter commented.

"Do you know where he will go?" Henry asked.

"Where is Mirenda?" Peter asked remembering something.

"Not sure. I totally forgot about her in all this mess," Henry said.

"Let's find her. If Ms Julia was wearing her ring we could track her," Peter said.

"What!" Henry exclaimed.
