Father Meets Son
Fiona immediately tensed up, James had been to her apartment multiple times. If she turns on her video, he will know she is not at her apartment.
"He wants to see me, if I put on my video we are done for it," Fiona informed Vera covering the mouthpiece of the phone ensuring James doesn't hear anything.
"Have you taken him to your bathroom before?" Vera asked.
"No," Fiona replied as she shook her head in a 'no'.
"Good, go to the bathroom, " Vera suggested and Fiona made a beeline for the washroom.
"Fiona, can you hear me?" James asked about three times.
"I am sorry, I pressed the mute button with my cheeks" Fiona replied and turned on the video.
"Wait, where are you?" James asked.
"In the bathroom?" Fiona replied quickly sitting on the toilet.
"Nice. Are you going to take a shower?" James asked and sat on the bed resting his back on the headboard.
"In a couple of minutes?" Fiona replied acting shy.
"Can I watch?" James asked with a smile.
"Nooo," Fiona answered almost immediately.
"Come on, what is it about you that I have not seen?" James asked.
"That was a different circumstance," Fiona replied.
"Okay. Tomorrow what time should I pick you up?" James asked.
"11 a.m. will be fine for me," Fiona replied.
"Sure, I will leave you to take your shower. Call me when you are going to bed," James requested and they both ended the call blowing each other a kiss.
"What is this girl up to? That was not her place," James thought as he sat on the bed silently.
Back at Vera's place, Fiona was out of the bathroom and Vera was eager to know how the conversation went.
"So what did he say?" Vera inquired.
"He is picking me up tomorrow to the Haward's apartment," Fiona replied.
"Did he suspect anything?" Vera asked.
"No. He has never entered my bathroom before so he won't suspect anything," Fiona replied confidently.
"That is great. So get ready for tomorrow. You can't stay with him for long. Find a way for him to confess what happened that night and video it. Make sure there is no room for ambiguity," Vera warned.
"Sure," replied Fiona.
"We only have one chance. James is very smart. The list mistake and everything will blow up in our face," Vera warned and Fiona nodded.
Back at the Hawards, Mrs Haward was on a call with his contact.
"I want you to run a pregnancy test on her. The last time I saw her. She does look like she could be pregnant. If she is pregnant, I want you to terminate the pregnancy. We will use it to make her hate Jason," Mrs Haward instructed and ended the call.
Back at the police station, the man who was arrested in front of Paradise Hotel was handcuffed to a table inside an interrogation room.
"Are you ready to disclose the location of Jason's wife now?" asked the officer.
"Kill me because you are getting nothing out of me," the man replied spitting blood.
"Be careful what you ask man. We might just grant it but not in a way you will like," warned the officer.
"Now start talking before we introduce you to something that will only wear off after days," warned the officer and the man only lifted his head to look at him.
"Dude, we have a lot of information that will give you a death sentence so don't make me carry that out here because that will not end that fast," warned the officer but the man remained unfazed.
At Paradise Hotel, Jason sat on the bed wearing just black trousers. His chest was bare with a bandage on his left side where the guy had stabbed him. He was worried about Julia and regretted sending her away. His phone rang interrupting his thoughts. He checked the caller ID and it was a strange number so he ignored it. The call came a second and a third time before he answered
"You are your father's son," came the unfamiliar voice.
"Who are you?" Jason asked.
"Ah, I see you have not saved the number Dr Andesh gave you," replied the man.
"Mr Wellington," Jason mentioned his name.
"Yes. I called you on a rather urgent matter," Mr Wellington began. "This is not a conversation to be done on the phone. You must come over to my hotel," he requested.
"Why will I want to come over to your hotel?" Jason asked.
"Because it's about your wife?" replied Mr Wellington and Jason frowned.
"Send me your location and I will be," Jason replied with a deep frown.
"Don't worry, one of my men will be at your hotel in 10 minutes if that is alright with you," Mr Wellington suggested.
"Sure, that is fine with me," Jason replied as he didn't have a ride.
Peter had gone home with the SUV and would only bring it back in the morning by 5.30 a.m. which was almost 4 hours away.
"Okay, I will be expecting you then," said Mr Wellington and Jason replied with a 'hmm' and the call ended.
Jason looked at the bandaged wound on his side, got up from the bed and grabbed for himself a new white shirt and a jacket before going out of the room and out of the office towards the main hotel entrance. The moment he exited the hotel, a black Bugatti La Voiture Noire entered the hotel compound and stopped right in front of the hotel entrance. The man behind the wheel got down to open the door for Jason but he had already done that.
"Sir!" the man said and Jason sat down.
The man quickly sat back inside the car and greeted Jason before driving from the hotel compound towards Mr Wellington's hotel. It was a forty-five-minute drive. The car drove into a lavish hotel compound and stopped at the entrance to the reception for Jason to get down. Jason stepped out of the car and it drove off. Jason walked towards the hotel reception as he saw a man from a distance through the glass door walking towards him. The automatic door slid to the side once he was closed and a tall elderly man who looked so much like himself smiled at him.
"Can I call you son?" Mr Wellington asked looking at Jason who appeared to be staring at him coldly.
"Call me Jason for now," replied Jason after a few seconds.
"Sure," replied Mr Wellington.
"Please come with me to a place we can talk more privately," Mr Wellington suggested and Jason nodded following the man towards the elevator.
Jason recalled the day he had arrived at Dr Andesh's compound. He had only seen him briefly but the glass was rolled up before he could look again. Looking at the features of the man, there was no denying he was his father. The receptionist watched surprised by the two who looked like identical twins except one appeared to be older and the other younger. They soon arrived at the 5th floor and Mr Wellington led Jason into the presidential suite.
"Care for something to drink?" Mr Wellington asked once they were both comfortably seated.
"Thanks but I am fine," replied Jason.
"I would have preferred we talk about something different just so I can catch up on the lost times but that can wait" Mr Wellington began and Jason replied with a 'hmm'.
Even though the heater was on, Jason's presence appeared to have dropped the temperature by a couple of degrees. Mr Wellington felt like he went to sea and carried an iceberg back to his hotel. He cleared his throat and continued.
"After confirming you are my son. I wanted to study you from a distance for a while. I sincerely apologise for invading your privacy but I had a few men keep an eye on you. One of them reported a kidnapping incident just a couple of distances away from your Hotel. He spoke of a woman who walked out of the hotel very disturbed. I instructed him to follow them. I suspected it is the deed of Mrs Haward to discredit you. I intend to stop whatever she was planning," Mr Wellington said and sighed.
"Unfortunately, I was ill-prepared as the car drove into a heavily guarded compound close to the borders of the city. It became a dangerous mission. I asked him to remain there and report anything that goes on at that location." Mr Wellington informed Jason.
"He informed me, that some strange-looking man had just entered the place. I don't know who the girl is but I need your help to rescue her," Mr Wellington requested making Jason raise an eyebrow.
"You want to save her because you don't want my name to be dragged in the mud?" Jason asked trying to understand why he wanted to help Julia.
"Not really I can deal with that differently but I felt I needed to help her," Mr Wellington explained.
"I will make some calls," Jason said and pulled his phone out of his pocket and called the chief of police.
"Sir, good you call, we have your wife's location now," the chief of police informed Jason as soon as the car connected.
"Good, gather your men and let's move, the place is heavily guarded," Jason informed him.
