Moving in
"You are the very person I wanted to see. We are on," Mrs Haward announced and Mori smiled.
"So what next?" asked Mori.
"We patiently wait for his call. Anyway, how is it going with Fiona?" Mrs Haward asked.
"Something doesn't seem right?" Mori said looking in the direction of Fiona's room briefly.
"What do you mean?" asked Mrs Haward as she pulled Mori towards the study.
"I know the medication I gave her like the back of my hand. I went online to read about the medication we gave her earlier to make her lose the pregnancy and she is not supposed to get that kind of reaction. Both medications were administered at good intervals," Mori said.
"So you mean, she is faking it?" asked Mrs Haward as she closed the door to the study.
"Yes. This morning, I went to serve her breakfast. She asked James to send me away which he did. I left the food on the table as instructed by James and left the room. I was on the balcony when I saw a liquid spilt out the window," Mori informed Mrs Haward.
"Veronica went to pick up the tray a while ago and the toasted bread and egg had not been touched but the cup of tea was empty," Mori added.
"So she threw the tea out the window," Mrs Haward repeated. "Wait!, but James has not left her side since he went there to calm her down," she pointed out.
Mori tilted her head to the side and raised her eyebrows.
"O yeah, right James," said Mrs Haward knowing exactly what Mori's expression implied.
"So what do we do?" Mrs Haward asked Mori leading her to the sofa.
"She is pretending, right? Let's play along," Mori suggested.
"Good plan, I will alert James," acknowledged Mrs Haward.
"No, his head in his the clouds. Let's leave James out of this one. I have a plan," Mori said and leaned forward talking in a very low voice but loud enough for Mrs Haward to hear.
Back in Melbourne, Jason's apartment, Peter was in Jason's home office discussing Mr Wellington's plan.
"Now this is how everything is going to play out. I will need you to prepare a new set of documents for Paradise Hotel. I will sign them handing management and ownership of Paradise Hotel to Mr Wellington. He will in turn give the management and ownership of Paradise Hotel to Mrs Haward. Ensure the documents look authentic," Jason said.
"Once that is done what next?" Peter asked wondering if they would still be working in Paradise Hotel with Mrs Haward as the new owner.
"We wait for Mrs Haward's dramatic entrance," Jason replied relaxing in his seat.
"So we continue working there till then?" asked Peter.
"Yes. Once she comes in to drive us away we move to the Wellington's Company," Jason replied.
"I will be working in the Wellington's Company?" Peter asked his eyes shining like stars.
"Yes," Jason replied.
"That is great. Wait, but what happened to Paradise Hotel?" Peter asked his excitement level reducing.
"I will still be the owner. Julia will continue working there as a waitress," Jason replied and Peter was shocked to hear his answer.
"Sir, how do you put a prey before a predator? You already know Mrs Haward doesn't like Julia. She will work Julia against you and hurt her badly," Peter pointed out.
"I know," Jason replied.
"And you are doing that because?" Peter wanted to understand why Jason wanted Julia to work under Mrs Haward.
"Because she is the key to Mrs Haward's downfall," Jason pointed out.
"But sir I thought you were winning her back. This plan is just going to drive a stick through everything. Julia would not like you any more," Peter tried to reason with him.
"I told you, I don't want her to like me," Jason said and Peter raised an eyebrow wondering if it was Jason's way of letting go of Julia but his next words shocked him.
"I want her to love me," Jason added and the corner of his lips curved upwards.
"Wait, is that your idea of some kind of romance? Wait what did I miss?" Peter asked surprised.
Peter sighed recalling Jason had lived his entire life away from women and knew little to nothing about love.
"I know what I am doing," Jason said and got up from behind the desk walking towards the window.
"Sir, Julia is not that strong. You can't expose her to Mrs Haward," Peter said also getting up from his seat but only turning to look at Jason who was looking out the window.
"I know. She will be fine," Jason said and placed his hand in his pocket.
"Start working on the documents. Ensure they are ready by tomorrow afternoon. The whole transfer will be done within this month. The new month will start with Mrs Haward as the new owner," Jason said and Peter acknowledged before exiting the study.
Jason went back to his desk and picked up his phone. He unlocked the screen and went into his contact, retrieving Mirenda's contact. He recalled Mr Wellington's words asking him to call her. He dialled her number and brought the phone to his ears. It rang twice before it was answered.
"Hello," came Henry's voice.
"Hello Henry," greeted Jason.
"Hello Mr Haward, I almost didn't recognize your voice. How are you doing?" asked Henry.
"Good, how is Mirenda?" Jason asked.
"Not good," replied Henry.
"What is wrong?" asked Jason.
"She feels rejected inside," Henry informed him. "Mr Haward, it will be good if you come to visit her. She feels she doesn't have a family any more," he suggested.
"If you are okay, I will come for her this afternoon," Jason said.
"I am okay, I want her to get better," Henry accepted.
"Okay, I called to check up on her but I will be coming over instead," Jason said.
They spoke for a while before the call came to an end and Jason left the study. He was about to climb the stairs when he heard Julia's voice from behind him.
"Breakfast is ready," Julia said and Jason smiled.
Jason turned and walked towards Julia descending the stairs. He kissed her forehead and wrapped his arms around her walking with her towards the dining area.
"How do you feel about Mirenda moving in with us?" Jason asked while they were both having their breakfast.
Julia raised her head giving Jason's statement a thought. Mirenda did nothing bad to her but she wondered why Jason would want her to come and stay with them. After thinking about it for a while she remembered the apartment belonged to Jason.
"I don't think I have a say in that. This is your apartment," Julia said without giving her statement much thought.
Jason frowned but knowing how Julia felt about him getting angry, he closed his eyes and calmed himself.
"Julia you are also moving in," Jason said and Julia almost choked on her cup of tea.
She came there to take care of him because he was not well. She didn't plan on moving in with him. She placed her cup down. She opened her mouth to protest but closed it with no words coming out upon seeing the person who just walked into the dining area with a smile.
Julia frowned staring at the person whose smile kept becoming broader.
