Gullible
"Good, gather your men and let's move, the place is heavily guarded" Jason informed him.
"Sure" replied the chief of police and the call ended.
"You still will such power?" asked Mr Wellington.
"Well, the people who know you better always know the truth," Jason replied.
"So why didn't you do something about the dragging of your name in the mud?" Mr Wellington asked curiously, just to know Jason more.
"Mrs Haward raised me. History will remember me for what I did to the woman who raised me. That is something I didn't want," Jason replied and Mr Wellington nodded.
"Dr Andesh was right. You are a man of integrity," Mr Wellington thought with a smile.
Jason's phone rang again and it was the chief of police. He answered the call, bringing the phone to his ears.
"My men are ready, we move in 10 minutes," the chief of police announced.
Jason checked his watch, and it was half an hour to 6 a.m. "Okay," he replied and the call ended.
"We are moving now?" Jason informed Mr Wellington and he nodded getting up to his feet as soon as Jason stood up from his seat.
Jason's phone rang again and it was Peter.
"Hello Boss, I just arrived at the hotel and I didn't see you for our usual morning checks," Peter said.
"Yes, I will send you my current location," Jason informed Peter and ended the call.
Peter quickly moved from Paradise Hotel towards the location Jason had just shared with him. He was wondering what was going on. He arrived at the location and called Jason. He exited the Hotel with Mr Wellington and Peter's eyes widened looking at the two together. He felt like he was looking at the younger and older version of Jason. They both sat in the car.
"Peter meet Mr Wellington, Mr Wellington meet Peter," Jason made a brief introduction and Peter smiled broadly.
"O my God, Mr Wellington is sitting in the same car with me," Peter thought as he greeted him.
"Head for this location. We are going to get Julia," Jason informed Peter and he nodded moving the car out of the hotel compound towards the destination Jason had given him.
Back at the Haward apartment, Mrs Haward was already awake and was on the call with the man she had tasked to run a pregnancy test on Julia.
"She was pregnant but I believe she lost it. I was able to get her medical report from the hospital where they took care of her with the help of my friend. I will just make some few changes and it will look just the way you want it," reported the man.
"That is perfect. Print the report for me. I can use it to make her hate Jason forever. If they never get together, Jason would never find out what I did," Mrs Haward said with a smile ending the call.
Mrs Haward left her room fully dressed and knocked on James's door. He was still asleep. She opened and entered the room anyway.
"Wake up sweety. I am going somewhere. I will be back soon. You are bringing Fiona in today right?" Mrs Haward asked.
"Hmmm hmmm" James replied, still on the bed with his eyes closed.
"Okay, I will be back and we can put our plan into action," Mrs Haward said and excited James's room.
One of the guards was waiting for Mrs Haward in the living room. He took her bag from her and they both exited the living room. They were soon in the garage and inside one of the many cars.
"You know where we are going," Mrs Haward said and the guard nodded driving out of the compound.
Using their usual fast route, they soon arrived at the location. The medical person who had run the test on Julia came out to meet them. He handed the report over to Mrs Haward as he led her into the warehouse.
"This is perfect," Mrs Haward said going through the reports as they walked towards the place where Julia was kept.
The one guarding the room unlocked the door as soon as Mrs Haward and the doctor got there.
"How are you?" Mrs Haward greeted and Julia lifted her head to see who had entered.
Julia was sitting on the bare dirty ground with her hands and legs tied up. Her mouth was also covered with a cloth preventing her from making any noise. Her hair was dishevelled and her clothes dirty. Her wrists and ankles had turned red due to the robes tied around them.
"Removed the cloth from her mouth" ordered Mrs Haward and the guard did.
"What do you want from me?" Julia asked sounding very weak.
Julia had been kept there for almost close to forty-eight hours without food and water. Locked up in a room with the light turned off abandoned to the cold floor.
"Not much, just stay away from Jason," Mrs Haward said.
"Jason and I are no longer together so please let me go," Julia pleaded.
With the light on, the room was well-illuminated.
"Jason is using you to destroy me. I explained that to you the last time. I thought you were smart enough to make the best decision but I was wrong," Mrs Haward said. "Now see where you are," she added.
"Untie her and bring her to the car," Mrs Haward ordered and the guard did as requested and helped Julia up.
"Carry her and let's get out of here before anyone notices we have set her free," Mrs Haward said leading the way out and looking around as if looking out for someone.
"You came to rescue me?" Julia asked almost in a whisper as the guard carried her.
They soon exited the building through the back and the car was waiting outside. They got inside and drove out of the compound.
"You want to see who kept you here?" Mrs Haward said to Julia and asked the driver to park at a safe distance.
Mrs Haward asked the driver to get her the binoculars from the storage compartment and he did. She gave it to Julia and asked her to see it for herself. Julia hesitated but she took the binoculars from her hand and looked inside. She saw two people enter the warehouse and she recognized one of them to be Jason.
"Jason?" Julia said putting the binoculars down. "No, this can't be true. It was you," she said.
"You think so. Did you know you were pregnant?" Mrs Haward asked her.
Julia shook her head in a no and Mrs Haward handed the report to her.
"Jason terminated your pregnancy," Mrs Haward informed her as she went through the report. "Do you recognize the hospital? It was the day I brought you to Florida," she reminded her as the driver drove them out of the location using a different route.
Jason and the chief of police walked into the warehouse where they found a few men guarding the place. Julia was nowhere to be found.
At the time they had arrived at the place, Mrs Haward who was already aware of Jason coming over from the chief of police was already a distance away from the warehouse. She just wanted to use the situation to implicate Jason and it worked perfectly fine.
Peter and Mr Wellington were in the car waiting at where they had all parked their cars. Jason, the chief of police and several officers got down and went on foot to the location. Jason and the chief of police entered the compound while the officers surrounded the building. Mrs Haward waited for Jason and the chief of police to enter the warehouse before driving off so Jason would not hear the car move.
"I am sure they knew we were coming," Jason pointed out and the chief of police agreed with him.
"I will let my men search the entire place to pick up the trail if any and let you know what we found," the chief of police suggested and Jason replied with a 'hmmm' already suspicious about how the whole move was planned out.
Jason left the warehouse, walked back to the place where he had parked his car and sat inside.
"Did you find her?" asked Mr Wellington.
"No. Was your man on the watch?" asked Jason.
"I don't think so. His phone is off. He would have come to meet me if he was. Something doesn't seem right," Mr Wellington said.
"Let's go back. We will find her before the close of today," Mr Wellington said to Jason as they drove out of the place.
In the car heading back to Haward's apartment, Mrs Haward continues to narrate what happened to Julia playing the hero.
From the report, Julia had recognised the hospital even though she was finding it hard to believe because she didn't know she was pregnant, she could not deny the times she felt like she was sick back in Croydon before James came to pick her up at gunpoint out of the apartment. She recalled not having those symptoms again after leaving the hospital.
"O dear, you are too gullible. A few words from Jason plus his looks and you let him convince you," Mrs Haward said. "Here drink this," she offered Julia a bottle of water but Julia could not drink hearing everything Mrs Haward had just told her.
"You can go confirm the report for yourself after you take a shower," Mrs Haward suggested.
Julia sat in the car unsure of what to do with the revelation.
