Rescue Mission Part 2
Mr Wellington's eyes widened and his heart began to race. Mrs Haward smiled seeing Mr Wellington's reaction. Mr Wellington on the other hand was wondering how this had happened as he was there holding his wife's hand when she took her last breath.
"So how is that she is alive?" Mr Wellington thought.
Mrs Wellington didn't have any siblings as far as he could recall. She was the only child of her parents. He searched his memory for anything that could help him understand. If that was his wife, clearly he wants her back. He misses her every day and now that he has their son back, he will be happy to have his wife with him too.
"Mr Taga, what game are you playing?" Mr Wellington asked and Mr Taga laughed.
"Not a game but a reality show," Mr Taga said and laughed again.
"Who is the woman on the screen," Mr Wellington asked through greeted teeth.
"Your wife or don't you recognise her any more?" Mr Taga asked with a frown.
"I buried my wife. We file past her before closing the coffin and taking it to the place of burial. So, who is she and why does she look so much like my wife? What trick are you using?" Mr Wellington asked angrily and Mr Taga frowned.
"You seriously think I am here to play games?" Mr Taga asked and Mr Wellington stared at him with a frown.
Mr Taga typed a message on another phone and sent it. In less than a 1 minute, the lady on the screen was slapped across the face. Mr Wellington felt a pain in his heart when the woman screamed. Her voice was no different from his wife, who to him was of blessed memory.
"Your wife is still alive. She was only injected with a medication that made her appear dead for a while. My father had his men on stand by and voila, here we are," Mr Taga said and smiled like it was an achievement that deserved an Oscar.
"Wow, this is working in my favour," Mrs Haward thought.
"Well, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. You also took something that belongs to Mrs Haward here. This is why we took Julia," Mr Taga said.
"What do you want? You, you,...." Mr Wellington grunted looking at Mr Taga smiling.
"I already told you, give me my rightful place. Name me as your son and I will set Julia free. Transfer 50% of all property to me and transfer the ownership of the Haward fortune to her and I will set your wife free, if not, both ladies will be meals for my pet lion," Mr Taga said laughing.
"So what is it going to be? The clock is ticking," Mr Taga said and sat down on the sofa. "Tick tock, tick tock, the clock is ticking," he teased and emptied the glass of wine.
Mr Wellington stood in silence. He wanted to call it a bluff but the lady's voice was so familiar to him. Her screams went straight into his heart. If he ignores Mr Taga, the two ladies will be no more and if he agrees, what if it's all fake? This was the thought going through Mr Wellington's head. Mr Wellington pulled out his phone trusting, Jason would save the situation. He dialled a number and brought the phone to his ears
"Hello Sir," came the voice of the HR.
"Prepare a contract transferring 50% of everything I have to Benjamin Taga," said Mr Wellington.
" Sir!" came the voice of the HR person.
"Do as I say," yelled Mr Wellington.
"Yes sir," replied the HR.
"And what makes you think, you can do that?" Jason's deep terrifying voice was heard in the living room making both Mrs Haward and Mr Taga jump in fright but they both quickly composed themselves.
"Hey, Mr J, you are here. Just in time to join the party," said Mr Taga.
"I don't do parties, where is my wife?" questioned Jason.
"In this huge building somewhere," Mr Taga replied honestly and lit a cigarette after placing his empty wine glass on the table.
Mr Wellington looked at Jason briefly and then looked at the phone in Mr Taga's hand and the one on the table. Jason without any movement already understood what his father was saying.
"Give me back my wife," Jason ordered.
"What makes you think I will do that," Mr Taga questioned.
"Because I said so," Jason replied and Mr Taga laughed so hard he started coughing.
Mrs Haward who was standing on the side enjoying the whole scene let out some little laughs.
"Benjamin, you know me. Don't push me," Jason warned and Mr Taga stopped laughing immediately.
"I do know you that is why I did this," Mr Taga said and tapped his phone screen, another footage came up and Julia had been turned upside down hanging from her leg.
Jason's frown deepened as his face became very dark. The room instantly became extremely cold sending cold shivers down the back of everyone present. Mrs Haward took a couple of steps back. Jason without any warning launched at Mr Taga, snatching the two phones from his hand. He tossed both phones to his father. He landed several punches to Taga's face which sent him straight to the floor.
Meanwhile, outside the huge building, Peter had arrived with a whole team of officers who quickly surrounded the house. Others had also used the same path Jason used and were in the compound of Mr Taga after jumping the lower well, at the end of the double wall inside. Using the aid of some dogs they found a small covered tunnel inside the compound and some officers entered. The whole compound by now was surrounded and Mr Taga's security men were already arrested and handcuffed. The workers were asked to lay flat on the ground where they were working and placed their hands over their heads. After using the taser to disarm the guards in the tunnel quietly, they found a vast metal door with a huge padlock. Unable to break it, they attached some explosives and exploded it. They opened the metal door and found Julia hanging upside down from the roof.
"Over here," shouted the officer who entered first as he quickly dropped his gun and ran to hold Julia but he received a bullet in his leg dropping him to the ground.
"Take cover and protect the lady," ordered another officer.
"Move any further and I will drop the lady," warned the guard.
The basement where Julia was being held hostage had other rooms connected and this is why they didn't see the guard who was hiding inside one of the connecting rooms. All the officers did as ordered and one after the other dropped their guns to the ground lifting both hands in surrender. The last officer, instead of dropping his gun, launched himself towards the direction of Julia shielding her from any bullet that may fly out from the guard's gun with his bulletproof vest. The guard quickly moved his gun to shoot but the closest officer to the guard, grabbed his pocket gun and shot the guard, dropping him to the ground but the bullet had already been fired by the guard. The bullet hit the hand of the officer who was trying to protect Julia and it went through the side of Julia wounding her in the process. The rest of the officers quickly moved in bringing Julia down from the roof. One officer tore a part of Julia's dress and quickly placed it on the wound created by the flying bullet. Julia looked very weak, as they carried her out of the tunnel basement.
"Sir, there is another door here also locked, should we check it?" asked one officer.
"Yes, let's do that," replied the general. "You, get Julia out of here. The rest follow me," he said.
Inside the mansion, upstairs, Mr Taga was receiving beatings from Jason who used all his skills to attack him. Mr Wellington held Mrs Haward who wanted to run. She struggled to set herself free but Mr Wellington was no weakling even in his old age. Some officers entered the living room and seized Mr Taga and Mrs Haward.
"I let you walk free because I felt as a mother, seeing your beloved son shamed like that was enough punishment but I guess I was wrong. You teamed up with him to continue your evil deeds," said Mr Wellington.
"I will make sure you remain in prison for life. At least you can be with your beloved son whom you raised badly," Jason added.
"Officers, please take them away," Mr Wellington said and Jason moved towards the exit with the officers after briefly tapping his father's shoulder.
Mr Wellington quickly followed them as he enquired from the officers if they found his wife surprising all of them.
"We found Ms Julia. She is being sent to the hospital now," the officer said and paused not sure how to reply to Mr Wellington's question about finding his wife as everyone knew she was dead and buried.
"Which hospital?" Jason asked.
