Time to end this
Mrs Haward stood in the private room looking outside the window when she heard the door open. A smile appeared on her face. She turned to see the person who had just entered believing it was Mr Welligton but her smile quickly turned into a frown when she saw it was one of the staff who had just brought her a cup of tea.
"A treat from the hotel's restaurant," the staff said.
"Thank you, you can leave," Mrs Haward said annoyed, walking back to the window.
The young lady exited the room and Mr Wellington entered same time. Feeling she was still not alone, she rolled her eyes and spoke sternly.
"I thought I asked you to leave. What do you still want with ....." Mrs Haward stopped as she came face to face with Mr Wellington upon turning to continue yelling at the girl she thought was still in the room.
"Oh!" Mrs Haward smiled awkwardly realizing it wasn't the lady who had come to serve her the tea and she froze in her spot.
"That is an interesting welcome, Mrs Haward," came Mr Wellington's deep voice.
Mr Wellington was well known by all because of his position in society as the second most powerful and influential person. The Wellington's are super rich and their company controls a lot of other big companies in countries around the world yet, very few were privileged to catch a glimpse of Mr Wellington, whom many refer to as the president.
Mrs Haward was seeing him for the first time despite the Haward's previous relationship with the Wellingtons. She was never part of their meetings. It was only her husband Mr Johan Haward who met with Mr Wellington a couple of times when he was alive.
"He looks so much like Jason," Mrs Haward thought staring at Mr Wellington as she took in his features shocked by the striking resemblance to Jason.
"Mrs Haward?" Mr Wellington called out to her waving his hand in her face reading from her expression she was lost in her thought.
Mrs Haward quickly snapped back to reality seeing a hand going back and forth in her face.
"Sorry, erm, you look so much like.." Mrs Haward began but Mr Wellington completed her sentence for her.
"Jason Haward?" Mr Wellington chips in and sits down on the sofa making Mrs Haward sit down too but slowly.
"Yeah, are you related in any way?" Mrs Haward asked curious about the resemblance.
"We are all descendants of Adam and Eve after all," Mr Wellington replied with a smile but Mrs Haward could not smile as her heart was pounding so fast in her chest.
She had already concluded Jason could be related to Mr Wellington and if that is the case then she is on a failed mission.
"I met Jason and yes, I couldn't deny the resemblance but we are not related in any way. He is just a lookalike," Mr Wellington replied with a smile.
"Does it matter if they are related? Such a striking resemblance can't be a mere look alike. They must be related somehow but if he is denying any relationship with Jason that can only mean he doesn't want anything to do with Jason. It only confirms the information she had received earlier, that Mr Wellington wants to take the Hotel from Jason is true," Mrs Haward thought and smiled.
"It was great meeting your husband. I am happy to meet you too. Your husband was a great person and I admire him a lot. Anyway, I would like to know what brought you here this morning," Mr Wellington inquired with a smile.
"Yes, I got to know you were in town from your visit to Paradise Hotel and knowing the relationship that existed between the Hawards and the Wellingtons, I thought it wise to come around and say hi," Mrs Haward replied.
"That is very thoughtful of you," Mr Wellington said in admiration.
"The Hawards and the Wellingtons were once good at managing some businesses together. Now that you are here, I was wondering if that is something we can go back to?" Mrs Haward suggested.
"That won't be a bad idea," Mr Wellington said and looked at his watch, he needed to go see his son, Jason. "Do you have anything in mind? We can discuss that over a cup of coffee tomorrow. Right now there is a place I need to be," he said.
"That will be great and I am honoured to have met you in person," Mrs Haward said with a smile.
"Perfect and the pleasure is mine," Mr Wellington said standing up to his feet and Mrs Haward did the same.
Mr Wellington walked Mrs Haward to the door and she decided to ask about Jason's Hotel.
"You visited Paradise Hotel last time and that is how I got to know you are in town. What do you think of the place?" Mrs Haward asked trying to find a way to offer her support in taking the place away from Jason.
"The location is great and the Hotel, well is okay but I like the location," Mrs Wellington replied knowing exactly what she had in mind.
"I think so too. I think the place could be used for a bigger project than a Hotel," Mrs Haward said.
"Yeah, I do agree," Mr Wellington said as they walked towards the exit from the private room.
"I think I have something in mind. Jason is like a son to me and a business-minded person. I will tell you all about what I have in mind and we can discuss it with Jason. Who knows, he may bring his expertise on board," Mrs Haward suggested with a smile.
"Let me see what you have first and we can proceed from there," Mr Wellington said and she smiled.
Mrs Haward was happy her plan was working. She had brought the conversation of the Hotel and its location up knowing from the information shared that the Wellingtons already have an interest. Now all she needed to do was present something similar to the project idea of the Wellingtons. And she knows this because the guy she tasked to investigate Mr Wellington had shared the details with her. She will be part of the project.
"Great, tomorrow, lunchtime?" Mrs Haward suggested.
"Sure," Mr Wellington accepted stopping in front of the exit door and accepting her offer with a handshake.
Mrs Haward exited the Hotel with a feeling of victory. Mr Wellington kept a smile on his face as he watched her through the glass door walking towards her car which had moved to the guest drop-off point. He walked to the receptionist.
"Kindly get someone to move my things to the car," Mr Wellington said to the receptionist and she acknowledged and dialled an extension to have some staff carry out the request.
Mr Wellington left the Hotel moving into one of his apartments in Florida since he had decided to stay a little longer. From his apartment, he made a call to Jason and informed him, that he would like to come to visit to which Jason agreed and shared his location with him. Mr Wellington already knew where Jason stayed but Jason sharing his location with him was a sign that he had accepted him. He happily proceeds to the location with his driver behind the wheel to see his son.
At Jason's place, the housekeeper welcomed Mr Wellington into the house upon arrival and later Jason and Julia joined him in the big living room.
Julia was wearing a long sleeve to cover her scared wrist. Jason had already explained to her he was not behind the kidnapped. She decided not to ask any questions even though she was finding it hard to believe recalling what Jason had done in the past.
"Welcome Dad," Jason said and Mr Wellington was instantly filled with joy and his eyes became bright like a shining star hearing Jason call him 'Dad'.
"I wish your mum was here," Mr Wellington said and Jason pursed his lips as they all sat down together on the sofa after greeting each other with a hug. "How are you feeling," he asked.
"Better," replied Jason.
"Ms Julia, how about you, " Mr Wellington asked and Julia raised an eyebrow.
Jason had told her he had come with Mr Wellington to rescue her.
"I...I am fine," Julia replied looking at Jason realizing he was being honest with her.
"Glad you are both okay after going through such an ordeal," Mr Wellington said.
"Aside from coming to check on you, I am also here to tell you, that Mrs Haward is still out to get you but I believe is time to end this and for that, I have a plan," Mr Wellington said and Jason stared at him silently.
"For the plan to work, I would have to take possession of Paradise Hotel for a while. It would be announced on TV that I have bought it from you. Where you will go will not be part of the announcement," Mr Wellington said and Jason raised an eyebrow.
"She had someone hacked into my system for information so we made her believe I am out to take your Hotel from you. She came to see me at my Hotel earlier today and indirectly offered her support. I will allow her to feel she has won. Son, I would be happy if you would accept the business I built for you and help me manage it while we work on catching Mrs Haward. We will keep that a secret," Mr Wellington said and Jason gave it a thought.
"James and Mirenda are not Mr Haward's children," Mr Wellington announced knowing Jason might still be considering ignoring Mrs Haward because of his step-siblings.
Julia covered her mouth with both hands and Jason raised his eyebrow.
