Better Together
"Oh Jason, you made enemies everywhere. Just wait, I am getting a powerful ally. I am coming for you," Mrs Haward said with a smile, turned off the light and pulled the sheets to cover herself.
It was midnight and the whole apartment was now very quiet. So quiet that even the sound of a pin could be heard if dropped to the ground. Veronica lay on her bed wondering what was going on in the apartment. Since the day, Julia was brought to the apartment by Jason after being taken from her apartment in Croydon, Jason tasked her to let him know immediately anytime Julia is brought to the apartment again. It was obvious Jason knew his family might pick Julia up again. She tossed and turned in her bed wondering if she should tell Jason about what was going on even though it had nothing to do with Julia.
"I wonder what they did to the woman," Veronica thought and turned to face the direction of the window closing her eyes to sleep.
At Dr Andesh's Private Hospital, Julia opened her eyes hearing her phone alarm. She slowly turned and tried to stop the alarm so it didn't wake Jason up.
"Good morning my love," Jason greeted startling Julia.
"I am sorry. I didn't mean to wake you this early," Julia apologized as she reached for the phone and turned off the alarm.
"I am fine. Don't worry about me," Jason said with a smile.
Julia got down from the bed feeling bad for sleeping in Jason's arms till morning. He was the one on admission and instead of taking care of him, she rather made him take care of her. Jason noticed her sudden change as she sat down on the chair next to his bed.
"What is wrong?" Jason asked turning his gaze to her.
"I am supposed to take care of you but..." Julia said lowering her head and fidgeting with her fingers.
Jason smiled and reached for Julia's hand, covering both her small petite hands with his big hands making her raise her head to look at him.
"You did take care of me. I miss having you in my arms," Jason said calmly bringing a smile to Julia's face.
"Good morning," greeted Dr Andesh who walked in with a nurse who was carrying a medicine tray. "How are you doing Jason," she asked Jason, drew closer to his bed and looked at the readings on the machines.
She examined Jason and realized he was stressed.
"Did you sleep well?" Dr Andesh asked.
"Yes," Jason replied with a straight face feeling a little uncomfortable seeing two extra women in the room.
Jason reached for Julia and held her hand in his. Julia didn't think anything about Jason's reaching for her hand until the grip on her hand tightened anytime Dr Andesh got closer to Jason. It felt like a cry for help. Not sure what to do, she did the first thing that came to mind which was placing her other hand on Jason's hand and rubbing it gently. He appeared to relax a bit.
"You look a little stressed. I will give you some medication to take for now. You may get insomnia as a result of the episode you had. The medication will stop that," Dr Andesh informed him.
"I feel okay and I want to go home," came Jason's deep voice which sounded unfriendly.
"I would like to keep you under observation for one more day after administering your first dose of medication for insomnia. Once everything is fine, you will be discharged tomorrow morning," Dr Andesh said.
"I have a preference for home care. Can that be arranged?" Jason asked.
"Er, yeah," Dr Andesh replied clearly understanding the reason behind his request. "I will make arrangements for that. I would have the paperwork done for your discharge," she said.
"Thank you," replied Jason.
Dr Andesh and the nurse exited the ward leaving Jason and Julia. The guards remain at the door guarding Jason.
"Are you alright? You were nervous," Julia asked with concern and Jason turned to look at her.
"I will tell you everything when we get home. Would you come with me to my apartment?" Jason asked.
Julia looked into his pleading eyes and she was sure she was looking at another side of Jason. The cold aura was gone and he was showing some emotions.
"Yes," Julia replied making Jason smile.
Dr Andesh returned to her office after instructing one of her staff to do the paperwork for Jason's discharge and also arranged for a male nurse to go with Jason for a night.
Inside her office behind her desk, she dialled Mr Wellington's number on her phone and brought the phone to her ears.
"Hello, Sir. Hope you slept well?" Dr Andesh inquired.
"Yeah, how is my son?" Mr Wellington asked.
"He is fine. He wants to be discharged today so I am working on that and I am also making arrangements for one of my nurses to go with him today. I need someone to monitor him for a night as he takes the first dose of his medication. I fear he is coming down with insomnia as I suspected," Dr Andesh reported.
"Get him your best staff. I will stay here for a while. I am moving out of the hotel to one of my apartments here," Mr Wellington said.
"Sure, sir. I will keep you posted," Dr Andesh acknowledged and the call came to an end.
Jason was discharged and Peter was there with the SUV to pick him and Julia up to their apartment. On the way, Julia called Mary and informed her she would be away for a while and also requested she pack a few things for her. She will come over later in the day to pick it up which Mary acknowledged.
They arrived at Jason's apartment in Melbourne a little past 9 a.m. Jason walked hand in hand into the apartment with Julia and the nurse and Peter followed. The housekeeper welcomed them and Peter instructed him to prepare the guest room for the nurse.
Julia's eyes scanned the luxurious apartment they had just walked into. It was more beautiful and well-decorated than Jason's old apartment which was taken from him by his stepmother.
"Sir, I will be going back to the Hotel. I will be back in the evening," Peter informed Jason before leaving the apartment.
Jason went with Julia to his bedroom and sat on the bed.
"There are some clothes in the closet. You can take a shower and change," Jason said and Julia opened the closet to see clothes of her size filling half of the closet together with shoes of different styles and jewellery all for her.
Julia stood there surprised. Jason had bought clothes for her. He got up and hugged her from behind seeing her standing shocked and still staring at the clothes in the closet.
"I always felt comfortable with your presence. I just wanted to feel your presence," Jason explained and turned Julia to face him.
"Thank you for coming back," Jason said staring into Julia's eyes.
"At the hospital, you were nervous anytime Dr Andesh moved closer to you. Why?" Julia asked.
"I guess I was a bit stressed, that is all," Jason said and kissed her forehead.
Julia rested her head on his chest and wrapped her arms around Jason's waist.
"Let's go shower," Jason whispered to her and she nodded.
They both walked towards the bathroom and entered. It had a huge jacuzzi. Jason turned the taps on filling the bath as Julia looked on. Once he was done, he helped Julia out of her clothes and she smiled at him. Julia covered her chest as she stepped into the bath after shyly helping Jason out of his clothes. Jason smiled seeing Julia was still the same innocent girl who had woken up next to him.
They both sat in the bath and Jason pulled Julia into his arms. He placed a sponge into her hand and placed her hand on his chest. Julia smiled and moved her hand in a circular motion. Jason lifted Julia's head to look at him, with his finger and kissed her lips. She wrapped her arms around him and responded to his kisses.
"We are better together," Jason whispered in her ears as he trailed kisses down her neck.
In Southwest Ranches City, 6th-floor apartment, Mrs Haward was fully dressed, holding her handbag in one hand and her phone in the other.
"Perfect, I am going there now," Mrs Haward said and ended the call. "Mori!" she called out and she quickly came downstairs to the living room. "I am going out briefly I will be back," she said and looked around before leaning in to whisper the rest of her message to her.
"You can start what we discussed yesterday," Mrs Haward added and Mori nodded.
Mrs Haward exited the living room as soon the guard informed her the car was ready. They drove out of the compound and headed for the main road. The guard drove for close to an hour and entered a hotel compound. Mrs Haward got down smiling and headed for the reception.
"I am here to see Mr Wellighton," Mrs Haward announced and the receptionist dialled Mr Wellington's room extension number.
"Hello sir, you have a guest by the name of Mrs Matilda Haward," the receptionist said.
"Good. Please send her to the private room and let her know I will be with her shortly," Mr Wellington replied and the receptionist did as instructed.
Mrs Haward stood in the private room looking outside the window when she heard the door open. A smile appeared on her face.
